Started taking my three vehicles there, and every time, good service and good prices. An old truck was having some road noise issues. I took it to the dealer, who wrote me up a service order for $2600. I suspected that Matt's could beat that price. I left the truck at Matt's, but Matt called me after 20 minutes, and said I needed to come back to the shop. That worried me a little, but when I got there, he had my truck up on the lift, and showed me that all 4 items the dealer said needs replacing, were sound and didn't need repair or replacement at all. Saved me $2600 (less the cost of the shocks that he pointed out were in poor condition..and then almost all the road noise went away!). That sure cemented me to use only Matt's. Brought my cargo trailer in prior to a long road trip, and I wanted them to check everything out. They did, and when I offered to pay, he said "No charge. Didn't take us long, and you're a good customer..." or something like that. I am a mechanical idiot, but they never talk down to me, or make me feel stupid. And I always get a fair price from them. No wonder they are rated #1 in Iron County so frequently.

I had to drive super slow on the spare tire, so I was really worried I wouldn't get the tire replaced before I could reach an open tire center. After calling all over western Utah, I got a hold of Landon at this store. Landon was super helpful and was willing to stay late to put on a new tire for me. He also found me a used tire for a replacement, which saved me a lot of money too. I would hands down recommend these guys to anyone traveling through Utah as your go-to for tire assistance.

"Cedar city tire automotive & RV" aka "A Kicking Truck tire & Automotive RV & Semi repair" (I think they use the term "repair" quite lightly) 1001 S main st, Cedar city, Utah 84720. We called in here when we had an issue with our RV, (leaking hydraulic pipe) on a Thursday. We pulled up and I went in to talk to them. They didn't seem to want to actually look at the issue and just said it would be the pipes which they could get in a couple of days. We went onto our campsite and then our generator failed. I phoned them up and they said they had an RV technician that could deal with it, so on the Friday we dropped the RV up to them and left it with them for the day. We went back at the end of the day and it wasn't fixed, so they took the generator out of the rig and we arranged for all the work to be finalised the following Wednesday. A clear 5 days. They said that was easy to accomplish. We phoned them on the Monday to ask if we were all set for Wednesday, "yes" they said. How is the generator? "We haven't looked at it yet, but it will be done" Matt replied. Wednesday we dropped off the RV and left it with them "it will be done by 4pm" It wasn't and it still wasn't by 8pm, the rig was still in bits, the slide out couldn't be moved and the bed was still in pieces, we couldn't sleep in our home, so "Landon" said he would get us a hotel room for free for 2 to 3 nights while they resolved the issues. While the rig was with them we told Landon (the boss) to keep it secure because it is our home,. We went past at 9pm one night and tried the door and it had been left unlocked, so the following day we went back in and reiterated our concerns (To Matt) about security "I'll make sure I tell them and it wont happen again" We past again the following night after closing and again it had been left unlocked. These guys avoided us as much as they could each time we returned; they would disappear behind trucks or back offices or ignore us. They had ordered the wrong hydraulic pipes and were throwing parts at the generator, fuel filter, fuel pump, carburettor etc. We had to leave them on the Saturday with no working generator and pipes still leaking. We had camp site bookings that we were losing money on and they just kept promising that we can get this part and that part on Monday.......We had lost all trust and faith in them, enough was enough. $510 for "parts" plus a further $510 for labour worse off and nothing fixed, oil on my carpets, my baseball cap, and step carpets. When I challenged the charge one of them (Matt) got aggressive and confrontational. But I did get $100 off. A week later I took the rig to another repair centre in St George, and their Cummings technician diagnosed the issue with the generator the same day and fixed it the next. It was none of the parts that Cedar City guys had "changed" and he also informed us that the "new" Carburettor I had been charged for had just been cleaned and was still the old one and my Generator exhaust pipe was missing. I drove 60 miles back to Cedar City and confronted "Landon" the boss who again had disappeared into an office. "oh, my fitter must have replaced the old one in error" So that's how he paid for the hotel room!!! I got the $350 back for the carburettor and he found my exhaust pipe for the generator. After closer inspection two weeks later I found that they had literally chiselled a hole in the bottom of the rig to try and fit the oversized hoses that they had got. Pictures available on request! If you treasure your property and your wallet, avoid this place at all costs. I shall be reporting them to both the BBB (Better business Bureau) and NFIB (National federation of independent business owners) They are a disgrace and a very poor advertisement for American service.

In a short amount to time James determined that our fridge cooling unit was not bad as diagnosed by the first mechanic. He felt certain that several factors were contributing to our fridge not getting as cold as it should. One, it was very hot in UT the week we were there simply causing our fridge to work harder than normal. Two, our thermomister was not in the optimal position within our refrigerator. Took him about 15 seconds to correct. Finally, he suggested we add a second 12V cooling fan to help dissipate the warm air. He was quite certain that our fridge/freezer would work fine as we continued our trip North into cooler temps. None of these points were made by the first mechanic who literally spent three minutes determining that we needed a completely new fridge. Turns out James was completely right. Our fridge is working perfect even without the second fan. James was professional, competent and very friendly. And he is a veteran for those of us who like supporting veteran-owned businesses. I would recommend him to any fellow RVer transiting through or home-based in UT and in-need to help. And of course to any RVer home-based in UT.

We were able to find a place to pull over. There was coolant all over the engine compartment and beyond. Needless to say, we were a bit panicked. We live in Nevada, and were on our way home. I did an internet search for a mobile diesel mechanic, and found Iron Bros Diesel. I called and spoke to Pat and told him what happened. Pat was calm and confident, he said he was about 30 miles away, and would come immediately. Pat arrived within a half an hour. He did a few tests, and troubleshooted the issue. He found a ruptured coolant line up inside the engine. Pat was able to cut out the bad portion of the hose and reattach it. Pat discovered that the hose had been routed too close to the turbo. The heat had melted a large hole in the coolant line. He re routed the line and wrapped it in heat shield tape so it wouldn't melt again. Pat told us he formerly worked for Freightliner. He and his partner went our on their own and started Iron Bros Diesel. Pat was confident in his abilities. He had a calming manner and made us feel like we were in good hands. I can't tell you how happy we were to find him. Pat got us back on the road in a couple hours. He didn't price gouge us or take advantage of our bad situation. He's a sincere, honest professional. We're so grateful to have found him! Highly highly recommend Iron Bros! Thank you Pat! You saved our trip!
