My husband and I wanted a paver patio put in our backyard for those summer bbqs with family. We had…read moredone a lot of research and had an idea in mind of what we wanted it to look like. We had done our research and almost everyone was saying pavers are the way to go for a long term, low maintenance patio. We decided to call and receive bids from three different companies. The company that came to give us our first bid didn't take measurements or give us the time of day, but the cost was half of what the second and third bids we were given. Aaron and his team at AJB were the second bid we received. He wasn't the cheapest and he wasn't the most expensive, but he spent a lot of time with us and shared his vision of what our patio could look like. We were impressed with his ideas and knowledge. His vision was definitely more than I had envisioned for our patio and I loved his ideas. The company with the third bid spent time with us, but didn't give us the quality of service that we had received from Aaron. Their bid was a few hundred dollars more and since the service wasn't as excellent as Aaron's we opted to go with Aaron and his team at AJB. We almost didn't get the third bid because we were so impressed with Aaron and his vision, but opted to because the price between the first and second bids were so far apart. We thought a third bid would give us a better peace of mind with the expense. In the end you get what you pay for and we wanted a patio that was done correctly by someone who was knowledgeable even if it wasn't the cheapest. In our opinion cheaper isn't always better. My husband and I were a little surprised with the cost of a paver patio, it was about twice what we thought it would cost, but after watching the crew and seeing all the work involved we can understand it. We're so thankful we went with Aaron and his team. They were professional and very hard workers throughout the entire process. The crew took the time to make sure it was done right and was exactly what we wanted. With the Aaron's knowledge, skill and hardworking crew you won't be disappointed with AJB. My husband and I are so impressed with our patio, it makes us so happy every time we see it. We've shown it to our family and they are so impressed.

Trying to find reliable, affordable, and responsive help with landscaping/gardening needs is…read moresurprisingly difficult. After a month long process of calling landscaping companies (all highly rated on Yelp) which resulted in many unreturned calls and one declined offer (from a company that took 2 weeks to get back to me), I was lucky enough to be given the business card for Martinez Landscaping. This is why I feel so compelled to write this glowing review for Martinez Landscaping. You won't find him/them in the yellow pages. They are somewhat of a hidden gem in my view. I was in the process of selling my house and needed help cleaning up 2 years of neglect in my patio/garden area. It literally looked like an untamed jungle until Abad (the owner) and his workers came to my house. He came to my house, gave me an on the spot offer ($70 for 1 hour worth of work) and got to work right then and there. You could not hope to accomplish as much on your own in several hours as these 3 guys accomplish in one hour. It's actually quite amazing. I actually felt like I owed them more than I paid (that's rare with me). As a bonus, they weeded a small area on my neighbor's side just to be nice. And the owner himself is a genuinely nice, helpful guy. He was telling me he took on a massive cleaning project on a large yard that had been untouched for 10 years. So apparently there is no project that is too much trouble for him and his crew. Another helpful thing I learned from him was that you don't have to be present at home for him to do the work (a godsend for a busy single person like myself).

We scheduled a date for the work and got a quote. I went to the property the day the renters were moving out and discovered the landscapers there a day ahead of schedule. They were completely in the way of the tenants moving out. I asked them leave & come back as scheduled and explained why. The next day they refused to come back & claimed that I had yelled at them. It was completely rude and unprofessional on their part. They should have taken responsibility for their mistake and apologized to me. Instead, they will lose a lot of potential business as a result.

Sunnyside Construction went above and beyond our expectations. We have had Sunnyside come back to work on our house every 3 years as we work through our home-improvement wish list. Having found a great contractor in Sunnyside, we are going to be loyal to them for as long as we are homeowners. They show up on time and got the work done according to schedule. The final bill was right in line with their estimate. We were kept advised of any issues when they came up. They clearly explained the issues and what our options were...we never felt like we were being upsold on more work. The quality of their work is very impressive. We have had them redo our flooring, completely redo our bathroom (expanded size of bathroom, moved bathroom door, tile flooring, converted a tub into a walk in shower, etc), remodel our living room (removal of a wall), replace windows, level our crawlspace, install a French drain, landscape our back yard, build a pergola, etc. All of these projects came out better than our expectations. I interviewed at least six companies and Jeff's was the most impressive. He was always on time, communicated clearly, was patient about changes to the project, and was upfront about costs. At the beginning of the project he openly shared his subcontractor bids so everything was transparent. He happily worked alongside subcontractors that we had separately hired to do a full house rewire. And his crew was always polite, tidy, efficient, and did great work! We have no hesitation recommending Jeff to others, and will be calling him in the future for more projects. The only question is if he will agree to come back (we were kind of a pain in the butt, but Jeff has the patience of a saint!).
