We hired Precise to build us a large cabana, an outdoor kitchen, and new flooring throughout (tile and turf). The Precise team (Moshe, Dino, and Asa) are extremely responsive and easy to work with. Asa did great work in showing us 3D renderings of the plans to give us a sense of what it would like which was super helpful. They also have a great eye for design and functionality and made on-point suggestions that improved the overall project. In addition, they made excellent recommendations for where to purchase various items like the BBQ, heaters, and fireplace. While we had a some bumps and hiccups along the way, the Precise team worked with us to get over those issues quickly and ultimately completed the project on time for us to enjoy it for our daughter's graduation party. Dino and his team worked with us to do a full remodel of our house in West LA. It was a complex project, but we were thrilled with the end result. We've referred him to friends and family, and we would certainly hire Precise again for future projects. Dino is very professional and is on top of the project details. We had worked with another contractor years earlier on a different home project, so I know what it's like to work with a GC who cuts corners and that was not our experience with Dino at all. If his crew ever made a mistake, Dino took responsibility and made the correction. Precise's office was detail-oriented as well, providing us with milestone invoices (and Change Order info) for us to approve before payment. My advice is to have as detailed a plan as possible before you start. We also had hired a designer who helped us decide all the finishes, etc., and Dino worked well with her. Dino also has a good eye for design, and was able to weigh in and provide another opinion when necessary. He even came up with several design elements which we really appreciated. On a personal level, we also enjoyed our interactions with Dino. He's a funny, good guy, who takes pride in his work. That's something many people might not think about, but if you're going to spend months and months (and months) with a GC, it'd really suck if you didn't like being around that person. And when we needed Precise to address an issue or two after we moved in, Dino didn't push back and got his guys on-site to fix the problem. Look, things are almost certainly going to go wrong when you do a home build or large renovation. Budgets may get increased, supplies may get delayed, etc. It can be stressful! On the recommendation of a work colleague, we hired Precise to convert our separate, 2-car garage into an ADU. The project started in May 2024 and ended in September the same year. We are extremely happy that we chose Precise and would happily use them again for future building projects. They were excellent. After an initial site visit, Dino quickly came back to us with a draft of a floorplan and a cost estimate that we asked to remain under $200,000. We agreed to proceed, and they provided a schedule of work steps and expected payments. They kept to their schedule, and they kept the project under our budget. Okay here we go, I did 2 bathrooms major remodels with this Co...Usually I don't recommend contractors because everyone has a horror story. First bathroom was a major pain in the A, BUT after 2 plus months we got through it. These guys Asa and David became more then just contractors they became my friends. Even though the first bathroom was a bit of a chore I had enough confidence to let them attack my Maser Bathroom. We arent easy customers as we want the work to be done clean, they bent over backwards to accomodate us to make it as easy as possible. The first project was a full kitchen/bath/living/dining room gut & remodel. I decided to renovate my yard and put in a pool after much hesitation as I had a horrific experience with indoor renovations of my home a few years ago. I interviewed a number of people and decided to choose Dino from Precise Home Builders. His quote was certainly higher than the other ones that I had received but I was instantly impressed by his creative ideas, his responsiveness in terms of being timely with appointments and providing me with a detailed estimate, a computer sketch of the project and being available to all my detailed questions and concerns. He was instantly professional and genuinely invested in creating something beautiful and functional for me. I still entered the relationship with hesitation and skepticism as often contractors seem wonderful in the beginning and it does not necessarily end that way. I am a firm believer that people define their character through their goodbyes versus their hellos. It is now five weeks since the end of my project and I continue to maintain a smile and great appreciation for Dino. His goodbye/ending of the project completely aligned with the kindness and professionalism that he showed in his hello at our first meeting. During the project, we came across an unforeseen situation. It created tremendous stress and panic for me. Dino Completely made me feel like he had my back and that I was not alone in this huge problem that we had come across (the barrier had to do with DWP). He was completely on top of it and used all his resources to help facilitate the situation and find solutions. I felt so supported by him. Fortunately, the situation was resolved and we were able to proceed with the project. Overall, Dino treated the project as if he was building his own pool and backyard. He spent time with me coming up with ideas and helping me make decisions. We only went over the budget by a few thousand dollars and that was simply because I made changes to some of the things that I wanted. He also finished the project exactly within the timeline that was in our contract. In fact, he would've finished three weeks earlier if it wasn't for the obstacle that we came across that had nothing to do with him. I never felt cheated by him. He was upfront about everything. One of his subcontractors did a poor job on my fire pit and bench. I was so nervous that Dino could minimize the error and tell me that I was being too picky. But instead, he looked at it and said, this totally has to be redone. I did not have to convince him or be told that it would cost me more money. I so appreciated that he was able to take ownership for any mistakes and just fix the matter. Once the project was done, him and his wonderful assistant let me know that just because the project was ending, my relationship with them wasn't and if anything came up, they had my back. A few problems did arise after the project ended (ie, One of the Jets in the Jacuzzi wasn't working, the pool remote was not programmed properly, etc). A few of my friends said good luck, now that he's got his money, he's not gonna come back to fix things. I knew that would not be the case because I had gotten a really good sense of Dino's character. As I had expected, Dino was completely responsive and immediately attended to all the issues. He is also just a really nice, down to earth, personable and funny guy which made it even more of a pleasure to work with him. I absolutely love what he created for me. All my friends, family and neighbors are so impressed by not only how beautiful the yard, pool, bench and firepit look but by how quickly and easily things got done. Yes, construction has it's annoyances. I would still get upset on some of the days when there would be no workers at the house. But overall, I cannot imagine any contractor being as solid as Dino is. I would choose him in a heartbeat for any future projects and have already referred him to a few people in my circle. Update! I got my deck built in 3 days for $3500 that includes materials, labor and cleanup from another company who now has been steadily working on my house ever since :) Steve came to give me an estimate today for a small deck (13x22) and quoted me $22,300. I laughed because I thought he was trying to be silly after telling him how badly I've been treated by contractors in the past. But no, he sat there with almost a straight face and confirmed that was the real price. Here's what you did wrong Steve: 1.) receptionist called me asking the creepiest question...she wanted to know if I was going to be alone for the meeting..she asked me 3x to confirm if I was going to be alone or not. After I told her I was going to cancel the appointment unless she explained herself she said "the contractor doesn't like explaining things twice to couples so is your husband going to be there?" LOL. Guess what, I'm the project manager of the house not him. I'm not a feminist but that was sexist. 2.) After Steve looked at the site we sat down to talk numbers and I asked for an itemized bid. He said "no, that doesn't really exist" .... yes. yes it does. MAJOR red flag people. You always need to know what your paying for. In my case it would have been (3.5k in materials and 18.8k in labor) mind you, I already had the area leveled (hilly area) 3.) He gave me a bid a few moments after he looked at the site. Any contractor that can glance over a site for a few minutes can not give you a remotely accurate bid moments later...I think it's funny because instead of a flat $22000 he made it $22300...that number probably just 'sounded' better to him. He had to jack up his imaginary number by an extra $300! Honestly Steve seemed like a decent guy who has just been doing this for too long. Sometimes when contractors get spoiled and don't want to do a particular project, they jack the price way up so they don't have to say 'no' to the client. These people are thieves - do not waste your money or time. We spent over $200,000 and received nothing but junk in return. We decided to use an expensive company for our new home with the expectations that we would be getting our money's worth, but this company used the cheapest materials and with very poor construction. Nothing works well and less than 2 years later, we have to replace everything (tiles/windows/cabinets/doors/etc.) despite taking very good care of our home. We worked with Precise home builder during the summer of 2018. The scope of work included a complete remodel of the kitchen, deck addition, new doors, window conversion to French doors, all new wood flooring though out the house and a remodeled bathroom. We had worked with an architect to design the work and precise homebuilder to execute. We did not realize when we first started this process that Precise would have been able to design the remodel for us - which in the end, we wish they would have done. Starting with the design work, they provided recommendations that were very valuable to project and in some cases they made corrections to our architects work. For example, the deck renderings needed more work than we thought from our architect, so Precise brought in the appropriate help to get this to permit approval and completion on time. We had already finished our work with the architect before we started looking for contractors, so if we had known all of what Precise homebuilder had to offer, we would have chosen them to do the design and contractor work all together and probably would have saved some money. When we started our search, we talked to and visited the homes of a few of their previous clients. The feedback was consistent, quality work, on time and no change orders - unless the client requested changes to the scope. The only exception to change orders and timing was when we had to have external engineers come out for permitting situations (like what happened with the deck); in that situation, the engineer charged us directly - so there was no mark up from Precise. Precise was not the least expensive choice when we shopped for contractors, but we truly felt they were worth every penny. Precise was very committed to the timeline we originally discussed. As with any remodel project, there were a few surprises (like some extra foundation work that needed to happen that no one was aware of until they went under the house) and change orders that we (the client) decided mid-way through the project, but they managed to work around these challenges and ended up very close to our original timeline. Their project managers and office staff are super professional and picks up the phone 95% of time. The billing process, invoices and change order process are all online and communicated frequently, so you know exactly where your budget stands. There were many times where we needed help making finish decisions (paint colors, bathroom sink, tile selection, floor selection) - on top of the full service that Precise offers, they also have incredible interior decorator/design expertise, so these decisions were super quick. We would come with a few ideas, then they would help us choose and execute. In addition, they helped us secure fixtures, doors and windows at a better cost than we could get ourselves and had the vendors bill us directly. They provide you with the list of items that are the client's responsibility and then there are items that come from them as part of their price. A few challenges we had were not understanding what a few of the parts were (that we had to buy) - so there were a few times that we bought the wrong things and then had to return them, so we started sending Precise photos of things before we bought them. Also, we were a little confused at the beginning regarding the costs for inspection fees - those are billed separate; they are not significant, but that was our own confusion issue, since we had never done a remodel before. At times, there were many people working in our home and we would get some mixed messages from the workers, but we always call or email Precise and they would answer any questions and make sure we were comfortable and understood. Two major questions every client has is 1) were they on time and 2) were they on budget and I can say YES to both. Ok, I can finally write a review since everything is done. We had quite a bit of work done on our house: added one bedroom, one bathroom, expanded/remodeled our kitchen, removed a wall, new floors throughout. We interviewed 7 different contractors and we're happy we went with Moshe, the owner of Precise Home Builders. We felt that we could communicate with him and he has a passion for his work. His pricing is definitely fair. You may find a bid slightly cheaper but you will find higher bids as well. I would say he is mid-priced, but the quality will be high end. What you need to know is that our project was ON TIME and ON BUDGET. I've heard many horror stories from others but I can safely say that our project is now completely done and there were no major hiccups. The actual construction from demo to finish was PRECISELY 3.5 months. They passed every city inspection the first time, so I can tell that their work is not only quality but time efficient since they don't have to re-do work and then schedule another inspection which would delay the project. The workers pay attention to detail and they were respectful in our home. To summarize the highlights: on time, on budget, trustworthy, ease of communication, low stress, good honest people to work with, well priced. Other contractors: do they know what they're doing? We gave them the name of our referral over the phone, and they made the appointment for our consultation right away. Dino met us at our new home and we immediately sensed that he was not interested in working with us (Perhaps because we have a smaller, older home and were not certain what our budget was). Glowing reviews for folks we never met with precise? Everything seemed ok until wrong cabinets were installed. Not only installed poorly but poorly made. So called custom cabinets were supposedly expedited for us (sure)but compromised quality for profit. Instead of referring, I'm warning not get custom cabinets from Dino's sub Alon. Not only is he the rudest most arrogant person I've ever met but he doesn't deliver on his word. Paint cracking off immediately and binding was falling off , this was a total hack job although the design layout was good. His crew would do touch ups and cause more mistakes; they thought it was funny. Messy too- spraying paint in the driveway and getting on the tile. No pride in workmanship only ego.Tried to be reasonable with them but one can only endure the placating for so long. Now contracting license board investigation in full effect. Well when you're paid I guess calling back and fulfilling warranty is not something you're interested in. Playing us for fools, I don't think so. Also water came through our roof through a can light during the heavy downpour in January due to sloppy work since they rush their crews. No call back for that. The only reason they get 1 star, is because, with our daily direction, they did eventually complete the job to our satisfaction. We hired a "contractor" so we would not have to babysit the workers. That didn't work. Every day of this 2+ mos. project, which was suppose to last 3 weeks, we had to have them re-do something that was not done properly. It was a small bathroom remodel. After laying the bathroom tile 3x before it was correct, having an argument about the installation they agreed to put in, installing the shower head WAY to high, installing the shower facet wrong, sloppily installing the wall tile, installing the sinks backwards, after asking me which way we would like them, installing poorly painted cabinetry (which was not at all what we had ordered)... to list a few things... they did not hesitate to come and fix these things to our liking. 1 star for effort. A problem since remodel was done ... (since there was no foreman to supervise) I suggested they install the shelves in the shower by making slots in the tile and slide the heavy stone into it, but Dino insisted this new "waterproof" glue would hold the shelf in place, and it would last forever. It did not. the shelf fell. Now I am waiting for the other shelf, that sits 5' off the ground, to one day, fall and hit my foot. I would not hire this company unless you like supervising, and have a lot of time on your hands for daily re-dos. read more

I used Precise Home Builders for not one but TWO projects on my house. They did two complete bathroom remodels for me. That alone should comment on how pleased I was with their work. Moshe and his team were patient, accommodating and thorough. Anytime there was a problem they corrected it. I had to make sure that I kept a close eye on the progress but I would have to do that with any contractor. If I have work to do in the future I will call Precise first. read more

My wife and I are first-time home-owners. We recently contracted Precise Home Builders to replace a load-bearing wall with a hidden beam, bump out the front of our house, and remodel our kitchen. This is the first time we've worked with a general contractor. I'm a very skeptical, cautious person, so I was afraid of all the horror stories you normally hear about with general contractors -- bad work, hidden costs, damaged houses, etc. A couple people have left negative reviews here on Yelp, too, so my guard was up as I went through the process of selecting a general contractor and met with Moshe, from Precise Home Builders. My wife and I met with him several times, including at the site of one of his ongoing projects, and he put us in touch with a couple of his references (both of whom gave positive feedback and good advice on how to get the most out of working with a general contractor). When we met with Moshe to discuss his bid, he went over it line by line and was able to provide thorough answers to all of our questions. His professionalism, attention to detail, and passion for interior design set Precise Home Builders apart from the other general contractors we were considering, and we signed with them. After we signed the contract, Moshe set up an introductory meeting with Adalid, the foreman who would oversee construction. This was an opportunity for us to ask him any questions we had about the construction process, and for him to get a feel for the project and timeline involved. We also had a phone introduction to the project manager, Kelly, who would be our point of contact for any concerns and questions throughout the project. This high level of organization was wholly unexpected, and it really impressed us. The project had great momentum from the very start. Demolition was done in the first couple days, and foundation-pouring, framing, plumbing, and electrical work was executed over the course of the first few weeks. We visited the site almost daily, to ensure progress was coming along as expected, and Adalid was always on-hand to field questions, explain problems, and make any adjustments we wanted. We learned pretty quickly that despite being prepared with an architectural plan and our engineer's drawings, issues come up during the course of construction. The most interesting problem we solved was that of our exterior load-bearing beam. Due to the shape of our house's roof, this beam couldn't be hidden inside of the wall -- instead, it needed to be placed just inside of the house. This was a big problem because this was where we wanted our kitchen cabinets to go! How could we place cabinets on this wall with the beam in the way? Adalid, Moshe, our engineer, and even our cabinet maker put their heads together to figure out a solution, and eventually decided to hide the beam in a soffit, and hang the cabinets below the soffit. I usually hate soffits, but this one is employed in such an elegant manner that we actually love it! Moshe and his crew managed to turn an engineering challenge into a beautiful architectural feature. Moshe's crew finished the project a week ahead of schedule. Our house has been completely transformed and I almost feel like it was a magic trick.... I am still trying to wrap my head around how we ended up with such an amazing kitchen! We threw a small BBQ party for Moshe and the crew, to show our thanks for their hard work. If you have doubts about Precise Home Builders --- let them go! Moshe knows what he's doing, he's got a ton of experience, and he's dedicated to doing excellent work. His contractors are top-notch and equally dedicated to their craft.
