I recently moved in San Jose so I went to the closest dental office in the area and luckily found her office near my house 2 streest away, i enjoyed my stay to their office as a new patient, they welcmed me as a friend. i had a teeth consultation with the Dr precilyn and she gave me tips about brushing teeth properly to avoid the build up of plaque. well its embarrasing to be scloded likw that but I thank her for that. I cannot give it a solid 5-star because its just my first time in her office and i see some negative comments but i will be back for sure. read more

strongly warn others to think twice before using this dentist. I went to her for treatment of my missing front tooth, #10, and paid $800 out of pocket. She performed crown lengthening, a core buildup with pins, and placed a crown. From the beginning, which was July 2026 the crown would not stay in. It repeatedly became loose and fell out, even after I returned several times to have it fixed. Eventually, the post came out with the crown, and I am now completely without my front tooth. September 2026 I later checked my MetLife account and discovered that the office submitted $3,360 in charges and received $1,988.80 from my insurance. I was never told how much was being billed or paid by my insurance. Almost my entire $2,000 yearly dental benefit was used. After all of this treatment failed, the dentist told me I would need to pay another $350 to extract the tooth and $1,800 for a bridge, while the office would also bill my insurance again. She said she would perform a three-unit bridge but charge me for two units. This has been a terrible, expensive, and stressful experience. I paid money, almost all my insurance benefits were used, and I was still left without my front tooth. I am now requesting all my records, disputing the claims with MetLife, and getting an independent second opinion. Please protect yourself, review every insurance claim, get all prices and treatment plans in writing, and seriously consider going somewhere else. read more

Precilyn B Silvestre, DDS - This is the worst feeling ever not to have a front tooth. After paying so much money - Pediatric Dentists Near Me - Newark, California

I was really disappointed with my experience, especially since this was supposed to be my first visit. I work in San Francisco and normally allow about an hour and 15 minutes to get to this office. The day before my appointment, they called and asked if I could come in earlier because I was their last patient of the day. I explained that I get off work at 3:00 PM and, because of the distance and traffic, I couldn't promise that I could arrive earlier. On the day of my appointment, traffic was exceptionally bad. After driving for an hour, I hadn't even reached the Bay Bridge yet. Rather than simply not showing up, I called the office to explain the situation and asked if I could reschedule. I was then told I would be charged a $75 fee for rescheduling. I understand having policies for no-shows or last-minute cancellations, but I was actively trying to get to my appointment, communicated with the office, and the traffic situation was completely outside of my control. This was also my very first appointment with them. Unfortunately, instead of gaining a new patient, this experience has made me unlikely to return. A little understanding and flexibility--especially for a first-time patient who called rather than simply not showing up--would have gone a long way. read more

This dentist ruined the front two teeth of my mom then suggested veneers to fix the problem. When I called to see what she could do to rectify the situation I was hung up on by Dr. Silvestre. I would definitely recommend to take this dentist off your list of research. read more

Dr. Silvestre is a 5 Star Dentist!!! Very friendly and cool. My tetracycline stained/discoloration teeth was permanently whiten without having to remove any of my natural tooth structure. She corrected spaces, gaps and misaligned on my teeth. Now I could smile without FEAR. Thanks Doctor!!! Your the best dentist ever!!!! read more

The worst clinic ever! I haven't had their services, and yet they are screwing up already. I have scheduled an appointment with this clinic last december and they canceled it without informing us. So my 2 kids and I ended up in their office only to find out there's no appt. their reason was, they had to follow covid protocols. Didn't we have protocols since march or april of 2020? Then i scheduled an appt again this week for me and my 2kids again. Only to receive a text message ( a day before my appt) that 2 people can only be seen. Which leaves me no choice. And their reason? Due to covid protocols.. again?!?!? read more

First the good part: I was taken in and seen right away. Now for the bad: They did x-rays first and I was told I had "a lot of cavities," including "two big ones". I was then given an exam and a supposed cleaning, which lasted all of maybe 5 minutes. I was told I would have to come back another time for a "deep cleaning." The dentist then wanted to schedule me to have fillings done on my supposed cavities. The whole experience just felt off. I decided to get a second opinion, so I went to see a different dentist elsewhere (with decades of experience). She performed an exam and couldn't find ANY cavities. She then did an actual proper cleaning, with no "deep cleaning" necessary. I'll let you draw your own conclusions on the implications here. read more

Just an update about the crown this "dentist" installed in my mouth. (Please note: this is the ONLY dental issue I've EVER had. This woman made it worse by cementing the crown in the wrong position.) If you value your teeth, do not go to this dentist. She put the damn crown in WRONG! It has a ledge that collects food. YUCK! My new dentist showed me on my xrays how wrong the crown was. She said Silvestre should have seen the ledge, it is obvious. So, now I have to wait until my insurance will cover a new crown (7 years from the date this awful dentist Silvestre install the crown). In the meantime, I get to floss, floss, floss that improper crown. Silvestre is an awful dentist who is incompetent with her work. DO NOT LET HER TOUCH YOUR TEETH! read more

I was in Newark for a short time stay last summer. It was embarrassing when your enjoyment went failed. Yes I was overjoyed to the extent that I forgot to be careful when diving. My front teeth hit the floor tiles of the pool when I dived that suddenly disfigured my front teeth. I was ashamed and all I have was my phone to search dental office and luckily I found that Precilyn in Google Map and I quickly went there with no hesitations as my looks was not good having that broken front teeth! Initially I was asked few questions about what happened to me. I narrated every details even my negligence and carelessness. Then She gave me options. The mere fact that the broken part is just half of my teeth she never recommended to replace it with new teeth as it will be costly! You know what? I was amazed because there is such thing as partial dentures that did the trick and magic! Well what she did was got the exact color of my original teeth and blend it to the artificial one (partial dentures) so that was amazing trick as the artificial one is exactly same color with the original color of my teeth! I was so happy when I saw the results too perfect! Very painless and flawless. Thank you so much because my self-esteem went back after the operations. You will see my picture having that broken teeth it looks so ugly! P.S. I just have concerns as the dentist was too pretty I can't look directly to her! I was too conscious that time and very shy. She also advised me to get insurance so that when emergency comes or something worst happened I'm secured with no hassle in paying bills. Be careful always whatever occasions or seasons! Prevention is better than cure and better safe than sorry are what i have learned to that experience! read more

Precilyn B Silvestre, DDS - My Partial Dentures last summer too ridiculous! Im glad it was fixed beautifully! - Pediatric Dentists Near Me - Newark, California

I'll start off by saying that my experience at this office has been one of the best visits I made to a dental office. Although there are some aspects that they can improve on, Dr. Silvestre-Melo's office is one of the more reliable dental offices in Newark and in their San Jose branch. Her office is very recommendable and would love it for more and more of our kababayans from the Philippines who are now based here in the US come to her office and experience her wonderful work. The staff are always attentive and kind add to that Mrs. Silvestre-Melo is hands on as a dentist and she really knows what procedure best suits my needs. I have been an avid customer, or should I say "family member" for almost three years now. My experience with my past dentist wasn't tht all too bad but Dr. Precilyn really made me feel comfortable and she was always asking if I was alright or if I was okay and If I was feeling any pain. So far, I had cleanings and several cavities taken care of by her as well as a couple of dentures installed, ans so far so good. Though it would be awesome if they hired more Filipinos he he he. Also, if they could add some lobby entertainment for us especailly if we have some grandkids over. That's about all of it but in general, the clinic really deserves much applause. Robert read more

Dr.Precilyn Silvestre-Melo is one of the best dentists in bay area and if the surrounding areas. First of all, she is a very skilled dentist. She knows exactly what the patient needs and what to do. She is very kind, gentle ,calm and caring too. I had a life changing smile make over under her care and I am really happy and highly satisfied of her work. She did 4 full porcelain crowns which looks and feels like real teeth. The color and texture are just like the rest of my teeth. I highly recommend her and her clinic. Check her out. read more

RESULUTION TO ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN CHEAted by this horrible dentist. MY EXPERIENCE WITH HER HAS BEEN AWFUL. ALSO, warning to parents this is the worst dentist you can take you child to, since they dont know the difference between this money hungry lady and a honest dentist.. Just an update after dentist ruined my two front teeth because she lied that I was not a candidate for veneer she charged me 1,999.00 paid for treated me very badly yelling and disrespecting me because I asked her to charge my insurance for the $250 each tooth they would pay for. She had the odactacy to charge my insurance company for work that was included in the Groupon special she offers. Thats when her GREED got he in trouble and my insurance Delta Dental warned her that she could not accept any payments from a delta dental patient since they have a contract with delta dental they made her pay me back my $1,999.- IF ANYONE READING THIS REVIEW HAS paid Precilyns office any out of pocket cash whether it being a Groupon coupon or other offers she gives. Please call you insurance company if she accepts your insurance and has asked you for the insurance card number and took cash from you for ANY treatment you might get your money back because she has a contract and has been cheating her customer's. read more

I was quite disappointed that Dr Silvestre did not notice any problem with my teeth at a visit 4 months before I was diagnosed by another dentist with a very decayed #14 molar. Dr Silvestre had done fillings, an exam, and taken X rays. I had a root canal done on the molar elsewhere. Then got a $800 estimate from Dr Silvestre's office for a crown lengthening, not including the cost of a new crown. This seemed unreasonable so I did some research and found that $465 was the cost with a recommended oral surgeon, so I had him perform the surgery. The whole, painful ordeal ended up costing $1700. Also, during visits with Dr Silvestre, she was encouraging me to have an (overpriced) deep cleaning done and my new dentist said that my gums were very healthy and recommended I not have this done. read more

I finally went to my appointment at the San Jose location and I was blown away by the service! I was nervous to come in due to the scheduling fiasco but Dr. Silvestre and her office really welcomed me. Everyone who worked on my teeth for my x-rays and cleaning were gentle and thorough. I don't know too much about dental technology but I was very amused that I got to see the X-rays of my teeth in digital format right in front of me. I even learned a little more about teeth. They didn't shame me for not flossing daily (I know, I know I should floss daily--I'm slowly working my way up to daily, I swear!). She even took the time to explain my situation with my wisdom teeth and was kind enough to advise me on how to proceed with looking for a oral surgeon. Major bonus points for the little welcome gift they gave me! I've never been this excited to see the dentist again. Can't wait for my appointment in January ;) read more

I made an appointment for my husband, indicating that he was going to need a root canal. I was looking for a PCD to take care of this. His office staff, said yes, twice. He went in for his first appointment and was only there for 20 minutes. She sent him to a specialists to do the root canal. What a waste of time! After the root canals were completed, the specialists sent him back to her, the PCD to put the post in. I made the appointment and confirmed multiple times that she would be able to do this. He got there, was only inside less than 5 minutes, she refused to do it. I spoke to her directly on the phone and she said she hasn't done a post in 12 years of business. Then why does your office staff not know. Please save your valuable time and STAY AWAY from this office! They lie and have no business being in business. Worst COMMUNICATIONS skills that I've dealt with in my 40 years of life. read more

If you value your teeth, PLEASE heed my warning and STAY AWAY. I came in for veneers to fix a simple gap in my teeth. Got convinced by Dr. Silvestre to do CROWNS instead of veneers - worst recommendation ever (every other dentist I've seen since then have been appalled that Dr. Silvestre convinced me to let her shave down my straight healthy teeth to tiny nubs for crowns when it was completely unnecessary and veneers would have accomplished what I wanted). After FIVE MONTHS, multiple unnecessary procedures, and close to $10,000 paid to this dentist later, I was left with: (1) six teeth that were unnecessarily and irreversibly ground down for crowns (2) one veneer that broke in half only hours after the dentist removed the cement; (3) two crowns that are significantly discolored due to the underlying teeth showing through; (4) two large black triangles in the gums between two of my crowns (ugly AND detrimental to my gum health); and (5) one crown with a large chip where it meets the gum, which occurred either as a result of the dentist DROPPING the crown on the floor while examining it. I had to get reconstructive cosmetic dentistry to fix the appalling botched job by Dr. Silvestre (from a fantastic nationally renowned cosmestic dentist who did a beautiful job and was simply horrified by Dr. Silvestre's work and the state that she left my teeth in). After almost a year, thank goodness this nightmare is finally over and my teeth actually look normal again. Please learn from my experience. Save yourself the headache and heartache, and take your teeth elsewhere to a professional!!! As for Ceasers review keep in mind he only needed his teeth extracted....After years of dealing with this dentist ( I was a patient of Dr. Edmunds who owned this business before her since I was 6 years old) I finally have changed to a better more compassionate and knowledgeable dentist. Dr. P often is unaware of what tooth she is even supposed to work on. After finding another dentist I am being told her work was substandard and amateurish. I am now having to re-do almost all of the work she had done on me just a few years prior. She is very expensive and often is clueless as to what procedure she is to do on you at appointment time and often defers to her assistants (who by the way 'ARE' professionals and are who actually what kept me going there for as long as I did.) I would never recommend this Dentist and I'm so glad to have found a new one who is much less expensive and very smart at General plus dental office on Thornton ave. I am now trying to figure out how to show you a picture of how she ground down my once even front bottom teeth so she could get an upper crown to fit properly. Other dentist can't believe this was done instead of making the crown fit properly. read more

Dr. Silvestre seemed great at first but the customer service got progressively worse as she took over the practice. She persuaded me to get lumineers, but they ended up being a yellow-grey color. This after she ASSURED me they would be white. She saw my mom later, and when my mom told her I was unhappy she said she would redo them if I called her back. I called her office back twice, and left a message with the person answering the phone twice. She never returned my calls. Over 1 year later I gave up all hope of a return call, but tried to make an appointment for a simple teeth cleaning, and almost made an appointment before I was transferred to someone who had no idea what I was talking about. Now I am stuck with yellow lumineers and am switching dentists. read more

Dr. Silvestre did a really good job. I've always hated the fact of getting my mouth numb specially the fact that the needles gets inserted in the gums ouch. But when Dr. Silvestre started to numb my mouth for my wisdom extraction. I didn't feel the needle at all then the best part was that she extracted my wisdom tooth in less than 2 minutes, this was a surgical extraction my molar was not even completely out yet. I really recommend Dr. Silvestre. I will be definitely going back to Dr. Silvetsre. read more

I totally disagree with Cesar C. Dr. Precilyn B. Silvestre is the worst example of a caring, compassionate, understanding Dentist, that I've ever seen. STAY AWAY form her! She does not pay attention to what patient needs or wants! One time I was there for her to repair a crown, she gave me a temp one that she knew was going to fall out. When it did come loose about a week & a half later I went back in and she pointed to a completely different tooth & said "You're here for this tooth right?".. I said "Nooo" and she said "Yes you are, look" & then handed me a mirror to see the tooth she was talking about. Seriously?? This made me very leery of her ability to fix the crappy temp crown she put in and I decided against her doing the crown work. I got up & walked out of her office very upset. I work with patients & our Practitioner ALWAYS reviews the patient file before doing ANYTHING. After I went to a very reputable Dentist in Newark that I saw years ago, & I found out Dr. (if we really have to call her that) Silvestre was going to charge me twice as much as the Dentist I ended up having fix the crown. She is not about patient care at all.. she's about making money. So BEWARE & for your own good, do NOT have her for a Dentist! I'd give her NO STARS if I could. read more

Dr. Silvestre caught my eye because her veneers were half price from most dentists.  She seemed really nice and caring, stating that if any of her patients were in pain or not happy she would be glad to accommodate  them. (Lie!) I got 8 veneers from her. When she took off my temporary veneers my gums were so swollen. The temporaries were covering half my gums and they were inflamed. Three days after when the swelling went down I noticed I had no gums in between my teeth! Which freaked me out. One tooth had a gap between the gum and veneer that I noticed with my tongue.  I called and spoke with the receptionist who said she would call me back after she talked to the dentist.  They never called me back. Not even a year after having my veneers, one just popped off. I called them to fix it but she wanted to charge me to glue it back on. Which I did not being I live 1 1/2 hours away. I had my local dentist fix it since I had to pay anyways. Fifteen months later (present  day) the veener with the gap from the tooth smells horrible and hurts. I know it's from food debris getting in to the gap. I brush and floss everyday ! No amount of brushing makes the smell go away. I know there is a serious problem if there is a smell. I called and spoke  to the receptionist  who is very rude and unprofessional. Interrupting me every time I spoke. I explained to her how one of my veneers was not put on right and now it has a bad smell and my gum is getting irritated.  She said it sounds like I'm not brushing right. If I'm not brushing right why is it only the veener with the gap giving me trouble?  I just simply wanted them to fix the veener.  Which they are refusing! "We will see you but we will recharge you" I paid them in cash, no payment plans! Dr. Silvestre is not taking responsibility or showing any concern. I had my dentist look at it and he told me there is a "ledge". Basically the veener was not bonded on right. He stated there was no way could I have done this. The only way you get a gap like this is from it being placed on wrong. My dentist faxed them saying I do have an open gap but she is refusing to take care of her mistake . Her receptionist told me to go have my dentist take care of it. Why would I pay for another veener when she should be the one responsible to fix it? I would definitely not recommend her. Veneers should last from 7-20 years. Mine didn't even last one year! Horrible experience!  Save your teeth! Don't go to a dentist that does not care about her patient's well being. read more
