Kathy, is fantastic. She does the work to care for the whole person. She is invested in treatment for her patients, and she goes above the status quo. Generally, I have never seen it happen with other therapists, which does not confirm that it has not happened, rather, that it has not happened to me, in my many years of working with Physical therapists. I usually get the standard service. Because Kathy is so invested, I feel more encouraged to do the work as well. Her personality lends to the experience; she keeps it light and focused. Since health issues can feel debilitating, you need a sense of joy and reciprocity in the pursuit of healing. I can't speak for Praxis as a whole. Rather, I can speak for Kathy who happens to work for Praxis. They are fortunate to have her. She puts the care back into healthcare, as the experience with healthcare professionals is not always positive. I went and saw Kathy and she was amazing! She was so patient and kind as I explained how my neck had been sore for months. I had looked up so many videos of stretches that I could do, but nothing seemed to work. She made everything so simple and gave me specific stretches to do at home and showed me how those stretches should feel. I couldn't believe how good I felt after the first appointment. Filthy facility. The floor has dirt embedded into the grain. The soap dispenser is clogged from unuse, obviously never used by the therapist. Lyndel, a therapist, spit twice into my eye while massaging my neck in a prone position. If he has saliva issues he should wear a mask. read more

My Physical Therapy treatments have been for vertibular neuritis. Learning to balance and stabilization has been the priority. I've been working with three Physical Therapist and one PT assistant. It is really unfortunate that the billing department is so incompetent. Nothing against the doctor, but I'm receiving surprise bills from services rendered an entire calendar year ago. I ALWAYS pay for services rendered at my appointments. Always. I try to call and figure out what's going on and the excuses never make sense. They constantly send me bills and can't give a reasonable explanation. I asked if she had any documentation from my insurance company saying they wouldn't pay and she said "that's your responsibility, call them and ask them." I asked for an itemized bill that goes over dates of service. The receptionist told me she's hanging up in my face. What?! How unprofessional. She claims the insurance company isn't paying enough. I can't think of a single solitary reason it would take an insurance company a year to determine how much they are willing to pay on a claim. I don't have this issue from any other medical office. I don't even have this issue with my husband or my kid's providers and we're all on the same plan. If you don't want surprise bills an entire year later and to be talked to like an enemy for questioning your surprise bill, find another physical therapy office. read more

Definitely recommend. My main therapist Jeff was awesome. Listened very well and adjusted the exercises as things came up. I was looking specifically for a PT practice that includes pilates. I called ahead to make sure that they take my insurance. They verified that they do, and then said I needed to get a prescription from my doctor. He couldn't send it electronically so I made the hour and 20 minute round trip to pick up the prescription. I spent 20 minutes filling out the massive amount of paperwork they sent (they literally asked for the name and phone number of my closest living relative? Separate from my emergency contact. WTF?) Then I drove 30 minutes to their practice only to find out that they DON'T take my insurance. The girl at the front desk said that while they take Blue Shield, they don't do Blue Shield Covered California. She said that this mistake happens all the time - which made me wonder why they didn't clarify when I called in the first place, until she immediately followed up with "You can just pay in cash." which made me wonder if this is some kind of scam to get you to pay cash so that all that time you spent doesn't seem completely wasted. All told they wasted 2 hours and 40 minutes of my time by not having basic competence when answering questions about their own payment policies. If they say that they take your insurance, you need to ask follow up questions. read more

Praxis would definitely not be my first choice in physical therapy if your trying to take your recovery serious. Cleanliness and availability at this facility is good, but that's not what I was there for. The physical therapists there are a joke! I was told to get into a position that was painful for me, but when I informed the therapists that the position was painful on my neck and shoulder, when putting my hands on my hip and leaning back, she said "were here for your back not your neck and shoulder." Well, if a position is painful that your having me get into, I figured it's information they would need to know so we can avoid that position or maybe it's even linked to the problem! I'm not a doctor nor a physical therapist, but I do know my body and when someone isn't going to be helpfully towards my recovery!!! read more

My mom had an appointment @5pm she even got there a lil bit early then two other persons came in after her so they left my mom waiting because supposedly they didn't have enough beds and her therapist took in the other person in and left my mom out waiting my mom finally spoke up mind u she doesn't speak English then they take her to a room which was the storage room and the therapist she had didn't even rub her leg the way she was suppose to didn't do a good job at all the service here is so mediocre Jus go somewhere else if possible Now I have to go with her everytime to insure this doesn't happen again if she has an appointment she need to be seen on her appointment time and they shouldn't double book if they know they only have 3 rooms for therapy so disappointed they treated her this way it won't happen again I will fight if I have to I don't play when it comes to my mother or her getting the services she needs only because she didn't speak english read more

I'm truly thankful for the treatment I am receiving at Praxis Physical Therapy for my chronic pelvic pain. Upon my first visit, I was greeted warmly by Liz Gutierrez. After receiving my first treatment from my Physical Therapist: Asma Sethi, DPT, I can truly say that this is the best I have felt in a long time (years). Thank you Asma for the outstanding care. I'm fortunate that they are an authorized provider for Tricare - West for active military and veterans. After four deployments and over twenty years of military service, I was suffering from the vicious circle of pelvic pain. My goal has always been to heal my chronic pain without the use of prescription narcotic pain medication that only controls the pain, and produces significant side effects. I think with Yoga, Mantram repetition, and Physical Therapy treatment with Asma; I can achieve this goal. read more

I was referred to Praxis by my physician and saw a physical therapist 3 times. I felt she was experimenting with a new treatment she had just learned. I stopped going, then later I called to speak with the owner. I wanted to come back under another therapist, but unfortunately the owner never called me back to discuss my situation. A patient's issues with the treatment must not be important to the owner of Praxis. Very disappointed in what I thought was a premier treatment facility. read more

I had almost given up hope and was mentally picking out a wheelchair before I began therapy at Praxis, I had been suffering from cervical (neck) and lumbar (back) stenosis, which is a narrowing of the spinal column due to past injuries and arthritis for more than 4 years. The pain became so unbearable about 3 years ago and at that point required narcotic pain killers. About 1 year ago the pain killers were no longer effective. it was at this point that I had almost given up hope and was mentally picking out a wheelchair. I asked my doctor to refer me to physical therapy which was my last hope to stay mobile as apposed to 24/7 bedridden. PRAXIS IS a godsend. I was able to improve my mobility and be virtually* pain free from mid July 2013 until the present due to their expertise and personal attention. I continue to do the stretching exercises that I learned from them. I was able to cut my pain meds by 1/3.
