I've been seeing Dr. Reznik for the past 6 or 7 years. I have bad knees from years of aggressive…read moresports and advancing years. He has repaired a torn MCL once and torn menisci three times. After each operation, I went through physical therapy -- not the PT affiliated with the practice, but one closer to my home -- and I recovered to the point where I resumed playing racquetball and walking 10 - 12 miles each week within the time frame he had projected. Three years ago, I ruptured the Achilles tendon in my right leg. Dr. Reznik repaired that, too, and after PT, I again resumed my crazy schedule with competitive racquetball and fitness walking. I'm playing in a regional USA Racquetball tournament in MA this weekend, and when I walk, I use hand weights within tight time frames so I really press my knees. I've found that each time I've seen Dr. Reznik, he's taken the time to listen to what happened, how I feel, and the impact the injury has had on my activities. He also shares all the images with me and explains what he's seeing and why he's suggesting one course of treatment over another. Frankly, I was impressed one time that he suggested I NOT have surgery to see how the torn meniscus would feel after use and try to manage it with exercise and PT. It worked for some months, but I did eventually have surgery after I injured it again. I've found that he accurately described the recovery as well as the level of functionality and even discomfort I'd feel after various procedures. To sum it up, I'd highly recommend anyone with knee pain or lower leg injuries to seek out Dr. Reznik.

He did not rush through the visit and was so easy to talk to. Very frank. My daughter had a complicated surgery with him last year and it has been a huge success.

For over 8 years, I have been dealing with knee pain. I injured my right knee while playing soccer…read more After many consultations, seeing different specialists, and doing PT, I got a MRI. The results stunted me, I was shocked. I ended up receiving an injection called "Monovisc". What a difference it truly made! It was effective for 1 year. Just recently, my right knee started to give me troubles. From fluid build-up to literally keeling over due to the pain. I tried home remedies such as icing the area, soaking in warm water with epsom salt, and taking one of my prescribed 600mg ibuprofen. None of those things worked. So with that being said, I turned to Google and began the search for an orthopedic specialist within 25 miles of where my home is. The search went very well and before I knew it, I was called by Dr. Kelley's office in Branford. The receptionist scheduled an appointment for me. Talk about stellar service! I knew that the moment I walked through the door into the Connecticut Orthopedics office, that this would be the start of my next treatment plan. Dr. Kelley's nurse (I forgot her name) was so kind, welcoming, and professional. She did a few x-rays and then brought me to the exam room. Not too long after, Dr. Kelley came in and spoke with me. He examined both knees, and knew that my right knee was worse then the left. After the examination, Dr. Kelley discussed the different options for treatment. He provided a few options. Two or three suggestions is better then one! After hearing the treatment option that he used when getting treatment and the stellar effects that came with it, I was like "yeah, let's do this"! Instead of one injection, I will get three - one injection per three weeks. This time around, I will get an injection called "Orthovisc". Although I am terrified of needles, I am looking forward to having my right knee get better. Knowing that Dr. Kelley is doing everything for me and my best interest to avoid any surgeries makes me so happy and I truly am grateful for this! I know that Dr. Kelley wants nothing but the very best for his patients. I am so grateful for having such a top-notch orthopedic specialist working with me. Dr. Kelley, you are the best; thank you so much and I look forward to having my treatment provided by you! For anyone seeking an orthopedic surgeon/specialist, I highly recommend Connecticut Orthopedics and Dr. John Kelley! You will most certainly be in good hands and cared for!
