The day I go on vacation was the day I was supposed to pick up my monthly Percocet but my flight left earlier than the pharmacy was open so I tried to get Turok to send me my meds to where I was going. I had multiple problems getting that done so I came home in alot of pain and extreme stiffness. His office then sent a much smaller dose and smaller quantity of my medication and I kept asking why and all I got was Dr Turok leaving nasty messages. Then I receive a letter that starting Jan 1st 2023, his office was no longer prescribing opiods and left me with NOTHING to hold me over AND still no reason why he, for the 1st time ever reduced my meds without reason! I now find out he lied to me, that letter was a complete lie and he has been prescribing opiods without interruption! STILL NO EXPLANATION and now he has blackballed me as no other pain mgt doctor will give me what I need, give me any opiods at all and some won't even see me!!! I not only have advanced DISH but now need a 4 level fusion in my neck, have Shmorl nodes eating away my lumbar spine and this POS doctor could care less! On top of that, he talked me into getting Testosterone implanted in me last year without any care that my BP spiked so high that I almost stroked out and refused to take any responsibility. Moreover, I found out after the fact that when I thought I was getting epidurals for my neck and back, they were either trigger point injections or nerve blocks. As others have pointed out, Turok is nice when you're giving him the high priced injections and other treatments that he can make the most money but if you mainly need pain meds to function and you cause any issue on getting your meds, he'll shut you down and lie his ass off! Avoid this POS! It's too bad I couldn't give a 0 Stars.

I have dizziness and can't function normally He did not even tested me on the visit, just briefly looked at the eyes and said follow the pen Said the the tests will be performed by the stuff in the office but not him!!!! And as per the office stuff the test can't be scheduled before 2 weeks from the office visit as insurance not going to cover it!!! What a Joke ! Called the insurance and they told me it is not true!! Stuff and doctor is very unprofessional! Turok said that his physical therapist can do vestibular therapy but apparently he was not trained to do it at all ( as he told me himself) Wanted me to do the ultrasound if the arteries but there person only comes one time a month Asked him to give me the RX to see another ultrasound office- refuses to do so I would stay away from this office Going to complain about this doctor:(

I have never been to a doctor's office where it is so unprofessional. When I 1st went there, it was…read morerun the right way but it has since gone downhill. There are 2 Doctors that were the most unprofessional-Dr Sofia Christakos & Dr Karolina Cichocka. The office gives random urine drug test. I really don't understand how but I had a urine test come back positive for cocaine when I was seeing Karolina. She called me a drug addict. So, I stopped seeing her& saw Phil & Alyssa who were very professional with me. But most of the great professional didn't last long working there. So, when Phil & Alyssa left, I saw Sofia who told me I had another urine test come back positive. I do not do cocaine & asked for a blood test & a hair follicle test which she refused. She insisted that I did do cocaine & all I needed was 1 more positive & I would be put on weekly tests. I had no problem with that. Prior to today's appointment, I received a text to arrive at 9:20 for my 9:40am appointment & I did. I could sense something was up when I arrived. I was given a Urine cup. But I asked to speak to Sofia about that cause I had been having alot of falls the last month due to my Parkinson's. I was still learning how to transfer from wheelchair to toilet to bed ect. So, I was given a tablet to do some mind tests. It was almost 10am & I still wasn't seen by Sofia & the place was empty so I spoke up & asked if I could go in, now. Sofia, in front of the staff stated she will not see me until I did the urine test. I explained I needed to talk to her 1st. My husband wanted to accompany me. The girl in the back office points to him & says that he is behaving hostile & is not allowed in the entire office. My husband wasn't hostile at all. Sofia says to have my husband help me give a urine test. My husband states that the conversation was supposed to be only between me & the doctor. Everyone that worked there was involved or overhearing this conversation that was supposed to be doctor/patient confidentiality. When she finally agrees to hear me out, I went to her office & I closed the door. She, then says I had another test come back positive. I was like, that couldn't be. I swore on my kids & grandkids which I would never do if I was lying!! She refused to refill my scripts & wanted to send in suboxone. I told her I was discharging myself & I threw the urine cup on the chair. I can't be accused of doing something I absolutely know is untrue. I, did offer, again, to do a blood test or even a hair follicle again but Sofia stated I know you did it. I left & started thinking why have me arrive early, do those dumb tests on the tablet & ask me for my ID & insurance info that they already had? As we were waiting for our transportation, the receptionist passed by & I told her Good luck & that she was the nicest of the entire staff...I don't deserve to be treated the way I was by both Karolina & Sofia-totally unprofessional!!!

I have had numerous orthopedic surgeries over the past 10 years and was told my an MD at Brigham…read moreand Women's in Boston that I had severe degenerative scoliosis affecting my entire spine but especially in my lower back and that surgery was not an option. Over my years of recoveries I had gained about 40+ lbs due to inactivity. physical therapy and acupuncture were somewhat helpful but limited. I also have fibromyalgia which makes PT and recovery time very slow. Of course insurance eventually limits PT visits. After a few years of doing what I could on my own and losing about 15 lbs, my pain and mobility deteriorated. I finally decided with my PCP to give it another go around with a new MD specializing in the back and spine. He might reevaluate and offer PT or maybe an injection to relieve the pain. The staff were very pleasant and caring, accommodating my physical needs without my even asking for assistance. They X-rayed my lower back. I questioned the need for my entire spine and they said that was all Dr Beiner ordered at least for the time being. In preparation for the dr they asked me to roll up my pants and set out the hammer thing to test my reflexes. Dr Beiner came in and asked me to tell him what was going on. I briefly explained my Dx of degenerative scoliosis from my MD in Boston who told me surgery was not an option in my case since it involved my entire spine., and the pain that has been getting more severe and limiting my mobility. He said he didn't know anything about fibromyalgia because they never taught it when he was in school. I also noted that I recognized weight loss and exercise would probably help somewhat . He checked the strength in my foot, then moved his chair away, leaned back with his hands behind his head and asked what I wanted him to do. I was taken aback and said I don't know that's why I came to him. I said, I don't know, physical therapy or something. He asked if I had physical therapy in the past and I said lots over the years. He said then I knew how to do it. He said I should see a pain management MD. I said I thought my meds had been managed well and he said they might be able to offer other medication or injections. I told him I thought he might be able to give me an injection and he said he didn't to that. He left the room and his assistant came in with a list of pain management MDs who were all in long distances in New Haven and Fairfield county and a prescription for PT three times a week for 3-4 weeks. I was so shocked by his behavior and expressed it to the staff member who helped me out. Once in my car, I sat for a few moments while the tears welled up and wondered what had just happened. On the drive home I thought "He just totally dismissed me, but why?". My weight, my complicated case and history ( including fibromyalgia, diabetes, depression) or my age or did he think I wanted narcotics which I do not want? I left the appointment feeling: a total waste of time and effort and money, though covered by insurance. More than that, I fell into a state of depression in pursuing other help or accepting my circumstances that might not ever change or get better. I've been fighting the depression with lots of distraction, I couldn't concentrate on reading or news or keeping up with my profession ( retired pharmacist). I talked with my husband and best friend and they were appalled. I still cannot talk or write about it without the tears. I will pursue physical therapy in a couple of weeks when I have my COVID vaccine and have a follow up with my PCP. I don't know where I will go from there. Risking another back doctor that will possibly intensify my feeling of hopelessness? I have also worked with a therapist who gave me lots of tools which I use, including meditation ( as in breathing and relaxation). Thank goodness for my wonderful PCP who will help me with next steps.
