My cousin has been trying to help my find a lawyer. She searched on Yelp and found Analisa Pratt. They had brief phone call on Monday, and Analisa sent us a long questionnaire which asks for all sorts of personal information that is dangerous to send via unencrypted SMTP email -- that's a common way that data breaches happen -- and says that she'll schedule a complimentary Zoom meeting. I wrote back on Monday and outlined the 3 points we need help with. No reply from Analisa. 2 days later I email Analisa to follow up. She asks for my phone number. I reply. Again nothing. 2.3 hours later I email to ask when I should expect her call so I'm ready. [I hate back & forth voicemail tag.] A few minutes later the phone rings, but when I stand up to answer it, I feel a bladder urgency and tell Analisa that I need to use the toilet and could I either put her on hold briefly, call he back, or have her call me back in 5 minutes. She sounds irritated and says she'll call me back. Then nothing. 18 minutes later I email Analisa to ask if she wanted me to call her. Who knows, perhaps I misheard her. I don't want to be waiting by the phone all day, I've got a lot on my plate currently. 8 minutes later Analisa emails me that she's not going to consider this matter, her schedule is completely booked with current clients. Gee, if that's the case and Analisa cannot take on new clients, why not say so up front? Why waste our time? I am concerned that this office does not seem to understand the security limitations of Internet based technology and does not want to use an encrypted secure document server to receive confidential information. read more

This review is long overdue! I cannot say enough positive things about Analisa Pratt's estate-planning expertise. When I was first looking for an estate-planning attorney, I thought I'd check Yelp to see if anyone stood out. Wow, Pratt Law sure did. All of those five-star reviews said a lot. My estate is complicated, what with real estate holdings, numerous bank accounts, various siblings and other family members, charities, and a variety of "what ifs" (especially when it comes to my healthcare directive). Analisa is very experienced in all of those areas, having built her practice working with estates far larger and more complex than mine. Our initial phone call sounded good, but before I said "you're hired," I went to meet her in person. And within three minutes, I was ready to go for it. The process of setting up my living trust took a month or so, mostly due to slowness on my part. As soon as it was complete, I breathed a huge sigh of relief. Analisa has a wonderful personality, a great sense of humor, and seems to truly care. She is a great listener, and has a unique talent for asking all the right questions. Her pricing is more than fair, and she is always available to answer quick questions by email or phone. Most of us postpone creating legal documents like these for way too long (I know I did). And many of us try to do it ourselves, or by using an online will and trust kit. DON'T DO THAT. There are way too many variables! VERY GRATEFUL to have worked with Pratt Law on our new Living Trust document. She offers an extremely customizable, yet rock solid approach, in a methodical and simple to follow formate to achieve a complete Living Trust as well as all the associated documents of POA, durable powers of health care, wills , and anything else there might be to organize for your estate. Her approach is not boiler plate. She customized our living trusts, and the establishment of our kids (now adults) trusts and all other components uniquely suited to issues within our family, some fairly complex real estate holdings and previous generational trusts. She worked with us to revise an outdated trust, and gave us an estate plan, and we are thrilled with the final product. Now we can forget about it, and focus on other things. I am an only child and lost my parents several years ago within a 1.5 years of each other. My parents had set up a trust, power of attorney, etc. I cannot tell you how much having this all set up helped me during a very traumatic time. I simply brought in the paperwork, had it reviewed by the financial institutions' lawyers, and was able to access accounts and make health decisions. The one comment from all institutions was that my parents had a proper trust set up by a lawyer (not Analisa) and not a do-it-yourself over the internet. Based on that experience, I pushed my husband and I to set one up. I found Analisa on Yelp and had to add to the positive reviews. Pros: - We started out by filling out a questionnaire. This is really the heavy lifting of the process and helped us communicate the type of trust we needed. - Flat fee with half due at the first meeting (once we confirmed we wanted to go forward) and the other half upon completion of the paperwork - Helped us find a professional management company for when the time comes - Provided great graphics of the trust flow (also mentioned/complimented by the professional management company). This helped us understand and make informed decisions of the complicated trust process - Stayed in touch by email and phone - checking in with us when we stalled (this stuff is so easy to avoid), clarifying, and answering questions - was willing to provide us with one trust - though the software wanted to direct us to 3 copies based on the intricacies of what we wanted to happen - told us how to share our new documentation with our financial institutions to further ease the process - flexible on meeting time - we needed early mornings to accommodate work schedules - pleasant, professional, and competent Cons: None on the part of Analisa - she's great and we have wonderful peace of mind now that we have this behind us. Extremely smart, quick mind-reader, very personable, great listener, extraordinarily responsive to individual needs and circumstances, fully organized and compulsively thorough with full follow-through and on-going follow-up to move assets into our living trust and/or to reassign them for easy probate-free access. Plus a wonderful sense of humor in addition! Her flat fees are extremely fair (may I say a bargain). She prepares simple-to-understand outlines and graphics to present the intricacies and tradeoffs to be decided. The finished trust document is a sectioned convenient binder, well crafted for understanding, perfect for heirs/beneficiaries to navigate (with whom she is delighted to meet and explain what Dad has arranged). She is very responsive to email and phone. I am referring other aging members of our extended family/friends who need the welcome relief and peace of mind she has brought to my complicated life. Dealing with these affairs in the last chapter of life is stressful, when the need/desire to focus on other things on your bucket list is pressing.
