I tried massages, yoga, stretches, hot wraps, the vibrating gun, everything. I knew I had to throw in the towel and get help so I contacted Calm Spirit and I was connected with Gina Williams. She was so thorough in asking what my issues and concerns were, got me set up and after my session with her she had me lay on this pulsing mat that helped ease the pain even more. In one sitting, I could already tell my back was so much better. I booked a four session as I wanted to come back a second time to really get in there and alleviate the remaining pain and she did. She's amazing and my back pain is gone! The great part is that you can share you prepaid sessions so I am sharing my sessions with my hubby so that he can get some work done on his shoulder. Of course, with Gina! She's great and I highly recommend! The staff there is so kind, they offer all sorts of teas and ginger candy while you wait. It really is a wonderful place.

They go really fast and show up via texts. I'm the kind of person that needs appointments in advance because of life circumstances.

I've taken mat and springboard classes in the past, and decided it was time to tackle the reformer. Katie walked me through a series of exercises to show me the variety of ways the reformer can be used, and did so in a kind and thoughtful way that made it seem much less scary than I'd expected. 27AUG2014 After 16…read moresessions here is my assessment. 1. Acupuncture does no harm. 2. I think it might be useful for muscle or nerve pain/problems. 3. If you think it will help then try it. It is affordable. 4. In my opinion, useless for relieving chemotherapy symptoms. Chemo drugs are nasty as they are trying to [almost, but not quite] kill you. Friday (09MAY2014). Acupuncture session at 1500. Saturday. Crappy mouth is reduced and I have a lot less fatigue. Was it: a. Acupuncture? b. Poisons excreted from my body? c. Both? d. Neither? I don't know. 02MAY2014 Very pleasant people. Took a lot a notes prior to my acupuncture. I feel very comfortable with them. Will see how it goes. Chemotherapy is nasty. I get loaded up with: Oxaliplatin, 5-fluoroucil, zofran, decadron, leucovorin every 2 weeks. The side effects are very unpleasant. I am hoping that acupuncture can alleviate some of the symptoms. Chemo mouth (aka crappy mouth). Food tastes bland. Carbohydrates taste like cardboard. Fatigue. 1-3 naps a day. Low platelet and white blood cell counts. The poison kills everything.

Great thing is that prices are not much higher than a packed out studio where you barely get a glance from the instructor. If you've never taken a yoga private lesson, I highly recommend one as it will quickly take your practice to the next level. The owner, Irene, is one-of-a-kind. She is the real deal. If you want an authentic experience, look no further. She takes such care in creating a space that is as true to yoga as i have ever seen. Her instruction is the best that I have ever experienced. She is also trained in polarity therapy which is borderline mystical. If you've never experienced a session, it's worth trying it. It can change your life. There are very few people trained in this science so we are lucky to have such a specialized practitioner in our backyard. I can't even begin to describe it - you just have to experience it.
