So my daughter had her braces done at a different orthodontist office, and although the environment wasn't friendly and quite tense, and the doctor got very upset every time you asked her any question about the process we toughed it out just trying to get to the end of treatment, at one check up appointment. The doctor must not have been in a not so good mood and yelled at my daughter and called me into her private office, and continue to scold me... Not only that after I left, she called my dentist office and continued and then called me while I was driving home to continue on the phone to continue to yell at me... Long story short it was quite an intense experience. I left there with my daughter (quite traumatized) not finishing treatment. I found Prairieview orthodontics, and wow! Its night and day difference in service! Not only does Dr. John and his team welcome questions they take the time no matter how long, even if it set them behind with other appointments, to answer any questions and concerns, and they really went above and beyond finishing off my daughters treatment, leaving her with an absolutely stunning smile. I have to say she was quite scared and timid, going to any doctor after our past experience. But Dr. John is just so good with kids gets on their level super friendly, very reassuring, answered any of her questions even during adjustments was very kind and gentle to her. Unlike the other orthodontist, who burned her nose, chipped her tooth, scratched her and yelled at her for breaking brackets, etc. Dr. John and his team are so friendly and definitely go the extra mile. We love the experience so much here at Prairie view. They have many locations in the area with super flexible scheduling, other orthodontist offices, actually charge more if you need an after school appointment versus during the day... Prairie view does not do that to schedule appointments around your schedule for no added cost!the team is so friendly and customer oriented- its really been a night and day experience! I personally now had my teeth done and have my youngest daughter starting soon!! anyone with children that are a little nervous going to the orthodontist or any doctor or dentist for that matter should definitely go here! The professionalism, the attention to detail and the friendliness and the expertise is second to none. Regina is absolutely outstanding and she really makes sure you feel as comfortable as possible! I reached out to Prarie View after being recommended to them by a group on Facebook. The consultation with Angelica went without any concerns. They have state of art equipment, and I was able to get my scans completed and get set up with my aligners on the same day. Dr John met with me and was very helpful. I am 56 and have had braces in the past but my teeth have then shifted. I was a little nervous because of my age but they reassured me and gave me all the information that I needed to make an informed decision. I walked out of there excited to return in a month to pick up all of my trays to begin treatment. Everyone in the Oswego and Aurora office is amazing! Regina is VERY knowledgeable about Invisilign and made sure I could take out my aligners without any issues before I left. One of my hooks popped off as I was getting ready to leave and Regina and Dr John stayed and attached a new one while on their lunch! The staff is so empathetic and treats you like family. I cannot recommend this practice, ESPECIALLY NOT FOR KIDS. We went for an initial consultation with my daughter who is very dentist phobic and anxious. The nurse manhandled my daughter when she wouldn't comply, and Dr. Zimmer was far from patient and understanding. Even told her to 'act like an 8 year old'. Seriously?? Prairie View Orthodontics is top notch. They worked with my insurance without a hassle and the initial exam was thorough--which is to be expected. Getting pictures of your mouth for an assessment requires a little bit of manhandling and should be expected. Is it uncomfortable? Of course it is!! I think the last reviewer doesn't have a realistic expectation of what the process is. I went to 3 different Orthodontists for opinions, 1 of which was going to put braces on my kid now so he could "get it over with"--this assessment came from someone who didn't manhandle my child, because he didn't even look in his mouth. After careful consideration I chose Dr. Zimmer because she was straightforward regarding the treatment my child was going to need to accomplish the results we were looking for. She is accomodating when a bracket breaks or a wire moves and is uncomfortable. I appreciate the fact she expects the kids to take some responsibility in their own dental health and hygiene. We like Dr. Zimmer so much, my other child got braces and so did I. I recommend her to everyone I know because she is not an orthodontist who's just out to fill her client list and pocket book, she has the best interest of the child in mind. read more

Had an initial visit for my son with Dr. Zimmer. Seemed nice enough during the appmt and was told the findings would be sent to his dentist so we could get a referral to move ahead with treatment. This was supposed to be sent the next day. It was not; when we checked in a few days later we were told Dr. Zimmer was on vacation and since they are not electronic the record could not be accessed until she returned a week later. Turns out, the treatment plan was not sent because it was never written up and the file was left in the doctor's home office so no one could access it until the dr. came back. All in all, we lost over a week since they dropped the ball and did not write up / send over the dental records. When we talked to the office ladies, there was no accountability for how this lapse happened and when I asked them to make sure this would not happen to anyone else by putting a better structure in place to ensure accountability it was met with 'ok' and not much else. They did not seem to have any care about the inconvenience and frankly unprofessionalism this doctor showed. There are plenty of other local doctors to give your business to. Don't waste your time. read more
