Happy Happy... Joy Joy. (***assuming now known as San Jose Fresh Farm but can't update business…read morelisting to reflect as such) That's how I feel everytime I visit this place to get my latin staples for the lake. We'll start with...fresh CARNITAS. Which must loosely translate as "warm, delicious porcine morsels to soothe your soul". Yeah - gimme a pound of that for the noshy drive home! Absolutely divine. They must come hand in hand with the chicharrones also made on site. I can't oversell the delicious flavor; yes, you MUST get the carnitas and decide for yourself. Don't pass up. Steak for tacos! Highly recommend - though we use it for fajitas and quesadillas. Fresh cilantro, plantains, avocados, limes, peppers of many sort, crema, queso fresca, refried pintos chock full of cheese and spiced with poblanos. You can't find this stuff at the local supermarket. I can't anyhow. Love the Goya Sazon selections. Fresh baked items are also made onsite. They were just being rolled out of the kitchen in back. (only disappointment: no palmeras in the bakery - but they do sell little orejitas on the shelf in the cookie aisle!!) Squeaky clean, friendly staff. (I beg you, please open in Carmel!) Helps if you can muster a little espanol vocab. So I grab not one, but two bags of crispy, salty plantain chips and a cold sangria soda to go with my carnitas snack and the world is suddenly a much better place. *and if don't like a sangria soda on a warm day - try that pineapple soda!

The Deli is amazing. I love the Panini's and the customer service is great. There is a side deli…read morelounge where you used to be able to sit down and browse the internet while you eat. This used to be a 5 star place and my favorite lunch spot. However, as of Aug 2011, the internet never works regularly here. I used to stop in 3-5 times a week for coffee or sandwiches but I really like to check my email and browse the internet while doing this. I told customer services a few times about the internet problems and then just stopped coming here. I stop in once a month hoping things have gotten better but I'm always dissapointed.. If you want Internet, I would suggest going to the Starbucks up the road or in the opposite direction, the Electric Brew in Goshen, IN. I find the latter more enjoyable.

I was passing through the Elkheart and I just happened to walk into Martin's Grocery…read more The display case is full of Panini's on rustic sour dough or rye. Behind the counter, one of the employees was making trays of fresh potato chips. I ordered a half a chicken pesto panini, a bag of Buffalo (Wing flavored) Chips and a Diet coke. The total was $4.95. The Sandwich was just awesome. The bread was light and crispy, they put a fair amount of cheese in the sandwich, so it get's nice and melty and gooey. This sandwich was a friggin party. The chips could have used a little more buffalo flavor, but even so they are fresh, crunchy kettle chips and only a $1.19 for a bag larger than most package chips. Very nice surprise, especially for a grocery store deli.
