WOW this is a wonderful meat shop. Their meats are flavorful like right off the farm taste. We WILL be going back.

My type of a butcher shop should be!! Nothing but MEAT!!! Steaks, roasts, chicken, sausage, pork, specialty meats and other things I haven't seen since I was a kid. Even has a deli so it's all you need if you're looking for meat. Been there 3 times and very happy with the service and the help they give you if you have a question. Highly recommend!! read more

DC Meats came through! We wanted to try Rocky Mountain Oysters. We couldn't find bull testicles anywhere. I reached out to DC Meats via FB Messenger. Stephanie responded quickly. She was able to get these for us within days! She was so friendly and answered all my questions. read more

This is not a a "quality" butcher shop... poor quality and exceedingly poor management. Verbally abusive to the staff

First time there last week. Bought some Brats. I have to be honest. They were far better than Eby's Old Fashioned Meat Market. They had a better taste and they were a bigger brat than Eby's. read more

Carry out only and usually summer months through early fall. The smoked BBQ is excellent. Several different protein choice. The smoked pork belly' is outstanding! Carry out only. Can call ahead to order. Good prices and DC quality meats. Sides are well prepared. Sold by the lb. Worth the wait till their serving season begins! read more

Good place but they're getting greedy with pricing. Dog food was raised from $1.75 a lb to $2.25 a lb - I buy and sell grain for a living, ain't no way the cost of chicken has gone up that much when a bushel of corn is 50% cheaper than a year ago, real slap in the face for long term customers who buy this for their dogs to eat every day. read more

"DC Meats-is not just meats!" Last Tuesday on my first visit to DC Meats in Osceola, I was impressed not only with the simplistic attractiveness of the display of meats & products (which include organic & an array of other food items) but more importantly by their great customer service! The attentive employee in the meat department greeted me with cheerfulness & a willingness to be of service. His initial greeting was proven to be genuine when I did have a question about their concentrated elderberry juice. When he didn't know the answer, instead of just saying "I'm sorry", he found someone that did know! It was just a wonderful experience all the way around & their prices were within reach. I would highly recommend DC Meats! read more

DC Meats is a great, local butcher shop offering the best products around. We most recently stopped in to pick up some steaks for a date night in. We opted for 8oz filets which were cut to order and absolutely perfect. We couldn't resist picking up some chorizo while we were there too and it was some of the best that we have had. They also offer a nice selection of hand picked items and are helpful in tracking down additional specialty items as well. We will definitely be back soon to try the sausages that everyone raves about. They also offer BBQ to go Friday evenings so that is on our list to try too. Definitely worth the drive! read more

Very good quality of meat. The polish sausage was very good. The people were very friendly and courteous.

I used to be a huge fan of this place.. meat is top notch.. high prices.. but great quality.. so it's fair. Today however.. after a few months.. I walk up to the door and see a sign saying "no mask shaming".. and I open the door to see 25 people standing shoulder to shoulder waiting for service.. maybe 5 people have a mask on.. even the cashier has a mask.. hanging under her chin.. so I walked out.. it's very obvious that the business couldn't care less if you get sick.. as long as your money is good.. I'll never go back.. they have good meat.. but they're not the only butcher in town. read more

Their meats are good. How I am treated as a customer weighs heavily on my review. The owner and his family are not pleasant. If you don't care that you're treated rudely then this is the place for you. They are just not friendly or considerate. read more

Awesome people. Very helpful. Meats are awesome. Love everything about this place. Kudos

....... .No longer a place we will go to spend our money.... Meat is average. No politics thanks..

1) Outstanding service 2) Top quality, fresh meat 3) Bulk & special ordering is easy. 4) Best dry sausage I've ever had 5) Very friendly employees - always hustling, answering questions 6) Knowledgeable, able to offer cooking/roasting instructions, recipe suggestions *My kids live all over the country and always stop at DC Meats to stock up on dry sausage when they are home. read more

A deep, genuine surprise, this place. It's in the middle of nowhere, as regards retail or population density. Lincolnway as you're leaving Mishawaka and on your way to Elkhart? Who locates there? But they have the goods, and while they are all of 10 miles from where I live, they are not far from the dog park in Mishawaka that I frequent, so I can sneak in a few more visits than I might otherwise. As a foodie, I saw the instant I entered this place that is a "serious" food operation. For example, they're an authorized retailer of Big Green Egg grills--a pricey but excellent bit of equipment, with few local retailers. Then you notice the array of meats in their frozen cases--grass-fed beef, boar, venison, rabbit, turtle, you name it. (They might have had alligator--I'm not sure.) Then in their dry goods they have excellent brands of fresh roasted coffee beans, and top-notch brands of tea like Harney & Sons. Then you see their meat cases and the array of house-smoked items (the bacon is the best I've had) and smoked pork chops and what not. They have "leaf" lard, too, a kind of lard taken specifically from the pork kidney area with a lot of special nutritional and flavor plusses. On Friday afternoons they have a party with brisket, chicken and pulled pork meals, all smoked for the occasion. The staff, too, is very attentive and kind. It's almost otherworldly to see this level of quality in a non-descript Indiana byway. read more

As we have cleaned out our freezer we will be switching over to all DC meats. . This is non GMO beef many are grass fed. We purchased elk and have not cooked it yet. The bacon burger makes a great Hamburg on the grill. The high quality meat and chicken they carry will change your shopping experience. read more

This was my first experience, and I'm happy I gave it a try. I came on the recommendation of a friend who is in the high class restaurant business, and it looks like he knows the good suppliers. I had a ribeye steak, watched it custom cut to my desired thickness, and paid a very reasonable price. Took it home and fired up the grill. That steak had great flavor, and was quite tender with just the right bite. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other foods they offer. Lots of the foods are organic, and meats without being altered with hormones . The people are extremely helpful and friendly, and easy to talk with. Great place! read more

I would give thus place 10 stars if I could! My family requires a strict diet of absolutely no sugar, which is used as a lot of preservatives on much of the meat in stores...especially smoked meat. However, here I don't have to worry about the unnecessary added sugars and my family (especially the hubby) can enjoy being the carnivorous that we are!. Great selection in store and can even tackle special orders with ease. Superb customer service... the employees take the time to know their customers, even the littlest ones. My one year old son greeted BY NAME each and every time we shop there. DC Meats has definitely won my family over and we get All of our meat from them. read more

The meat is so fresh here. Also it tastes sooo good! I always get steak to grill from here!

Great food! Great people! Great service! We decided to do a hog roast at our daughters barn wedding. They were so easy to work with. They knew exactly what we needed and had it ready for us to cook! Should have had them just cater the wedding! Everything we get (we are there weekly) tastes great! We will be having future events and plan to have DC Meats be a part all of them!! read more

Quality meats but a little pricey but I will continue to shop there they care about the products

Please shop here if you want good, fresh meat with a huge variety. Also, don't miss the Friday afternoon BBQ!!

DC Meats is like finding a hidden gem within St. Joseph County! Our family has been shopping here for years... and we love the high quality of meat & groceries that they sell. Plus, their customer service is consistently above & beyond today's standards! Many years ago my late grandfather & his 5 sons owned and operated a very very similar place on the West side of SB! A lot of locals still talk about how they loved going there. I'm frequently told of how much everyone loved hearing my grandpa sing, as he prepped their orders! Our place was much like this small locally owned business. Our family made thousands of pounds of delicious polish sausage, each Easter season & throughout the year... just like DC Meats! Perhaps this store is sentimental to me bc, it takes me back to my childhood. Yet, what brings me back over & over again, is their genuine appreciation of each and every customer that walks thru their doors! Go check 'em out for yourself... You won't regret it read more

First of all the BBQ on Fridays is soooo delish! It's only 3-6 I believe! The mac and cheese is amazing and so are the baked beans!! They have such a nice selection of meats and they're very friendly! read more

My wife & I have been going to DC Meats for years. First & very important to us. They are so friendly & nice. Never rush us. Always ready to answer questions & advice on cooking & just plain friendly! Kind of takes you back to the good old days. I Know Steve and Stephanie on a first name basis. All the people working there have the same manners. The best part is the meats are the best around at a fair price! And they do have sales. If you have not tried their dried sausage, please do. I love the Italian along withe the Belgian sausage! Joseph & Rosemary OConnor. read more

I'm a frugal guy. With that said, I'm not really a fan of going out. It's hit or miss if the service will be good, if the meal will be to our liking, etc...... However lately I've had a taste for a GOOD burger. Just a simple awesome, not over priced cheese burger. DC Meats is a mile away. My wife and I stopped in to get some burger figuring it'd be good. HA! THIS is the burger I've been wanting!! $3.99 a pound and perfect looking. Better looking than ground round we get elsewhere. Flavorful, tasty, didn't shrink by much and easy on my old gut afterwards. Picked up some Colby cheese while there for that perfect on the grill melted taste. We're sold. It tastes great and the way the animals are fed and raised it makes perfect sense to eat the best you can. I picked up a few other pieces of meat while there. Can't wait to try them as well. Now the best burger place at the best price is at my house. Hahaha Go to DC Meats, you won't be disappointed read more

Wonderful local butcher shop selling fresh, local meats. Everything is really high-quality, from poultry to beautiful steaks and seasonal meats like lamb. But my favorite is the huge selection of brats and sausages, great for summer grilling. They have everything you can imagine, from traditional beer brats to Italian and Polish sausage, to pizza sausage and cheese-stuffed. The employees are friendly and helpful, and prices are very reasonable considering the quality. Truly a great place. read more

We visited DC Meats for the first time this weekend and were very impressed! All of the meats looked fresh and the selection of other healthy food options were awesome! We purchased the NY Strips (that were on sale for $9.99/lb), pork chops, chicken sausage, bacon, chicken breast, cheese and some farm fresh eggs! We have the chicken marinating right now and will be enjoying it for dinner tonight. We will definetely be back!!! read more

Great meats! 8.99lb porterhouse! 2.99lb of sandwich ham. Unique brats and sausages. Love the new and ample parking.

Had the pre-mixed bread pudding today. Actually, mom brought some over to share with us... Very good. I have not been let down once.

Fablous meats. Bought and tried bacon, hamburger and chick brats and chicken. The flavor is outstanding. Bacon not salty flavorful as the chick and hamburger is what I remember as a kid when my mom got meat meat from a butcher on Mishawaka avenue in the 60s. From now on only place I'll get meat from. read more

This place is awesome, wish they had more then one location or a spot in the SB Farmer's Market. The meat is fresh and local. There's a variety of unusual meats and flavors. I also like the cheese selection. read more

DC Meats - a car parked in front of a restaurant - Meat Shops Near Me - Osceola, Indiana

The service is good. Fridays BBQ is pretty good, except the brisket. Its just bad. I smoke a lot of briskets and have eaten at many of the best BBQ joints in the country, this is the worst I've had in a long time. Prices are high for raw meat. From what I've seen, about $1.50 per pound higher than other meat shops in the area with equal or worse quality. With all that said, still a decent shop. Better than any supermarket around. I still go here if i dont feel like going elsewhere. read more

Terrible customer service. They have mistaken or forgotten my order on more than one occasion but are unwilling to apologize or admit their mistakes. They do not value customer loyalty or understand how to treat long standing customers. Take your business elsewhere! read more

This place rocks. Great prices, great service and most importantly a high quality local product.
