This is at least the third year in a row that I have used PR smog and I will continue to do so. I arrived late morning on a Thursday. Walked in the office and was greeted immediately. Seating area in no-frills but clean and roomy. Entire process was less than 15 minutes and my interactions with the guy there is always pleasant. Charged $60. I sent my 16 year old son to get his truck smog completed! With the COVID-19 issue and working in a mental health/medical I've had to work a ton of hours! We had just had a ton of work done on it to get it to pass smog! They didn't run a pre-check on it and ran the smog on it anyway. Two mechanics said it would pass. He told my son it didn't pass then told him to run the heater for 5 minutes and bring it back. Funny no other checks outside of his triggered this. On top of that he charged us twice. I had to take time off from work to deal with this issue and the guy laughed at me as he said well he didn't as for a pre test! I feel like he took advantage of my son who didn't know better and a single mom who was just trying to get her sons truck fixed in this crazy time!! DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!!! read more

The owner Mark is dishonest they broke my radiator when they put my alternator in and would not make it right and wouldn't hear me out then he pushed me so hard he left marks on me because he didn't like the fact that I was crying and telling him he needs to make it right!!! Do not go here if you want good service and knowledgeable people. I told them I did not know if I needed a smog and they said they couldn't check then I started checking on my phone and before I could even find the website another guy informed me that the test was done and that he did check to see if I needed a smog on the website and I indeed did not need one but I passed. So he said he would only charge me $20 for absolutely nothing. So I guess I got robbed for expecting them to help me out like they did the last time I went there. Do NOT go here. They are rude, condensing, and liars. I went to get my truck smogged and it didn't pass. Told me what the errors were and said if I bring it back to them they'll only charge me for te certificate. When I did they said I used a coupon and would have to pay the $45 again. Apparently they have automatic coupons they don't tell you about so they CAN charge you full price again. Will NEVER go back. read more

I took my truck down to get smoged knowing I needed some adjustments, I was greeted nicely and I dropped my truck off and was waiting for a call. Got a call from PR smog stating I needed gas caps and timing changed , no biggie I agreed and it was set, before I brought the truck in I had been fixing this truck up, no problems started ran good, minor oil leak valve covers which they did point out. At 4 PM I called it was still being worked on and I could come down to get it in a while, cool no big deal, i got off work and they were still working on it , waited till 8pm after the pre test fail , I got the paperwork paid the 86 dollar bill and went to get my truck, I ordered a new carburetor like they said for the next day, I was bringing it back so they could install and then smog again, great but when they went to start the truck it would no longer start. After multiple attempts they offered me a ride to my other car. I agreed and set everything up to bring the parts in the morning, all good the next day I recieved the new carburetor and adapter plate, linkage, gasket ect i dropped it off and awaited a call to pick up my truck. I didn't want to bug the guys so I didn't call tell almost 4 PM to see how my truck was coming along. I was then told that the carburetor wasent ca smog legal, and my truck sat there with nothing going on. I asked why I didn't get a call? Response was that they did and even called my work, i never recieved a call on either phones, I asked for the number they called and it was the incorrect number, and they called the wrong work number. I went down to see what was going on and, I asked why I wasent called and the owner got mad and said everyone gets mad when their car doesn't pass smog!! That wasent the issue I was paying to have it done, it didn't pass yesterday and that's edgy I wanted it fixed, the owner insisted that I saw the phone number they called and I did, it was the incorrect number, so a great experience turned sour, really fast, on top of it the owner made sure I knew that he " didn't need my f@#/$#@ business" I asked for my parts and keys, got in my truck and it died two blocks from PR smog, towed my truck to another shop. I walked back to PR smog and picked up my other car I took to pick up my truck. I'm really blown away! Service was great at first then boom. I would have returned my carburetor and all parts and bought them from Mike, but not after him cursing at me in front of others as well. I literally put my head down while he was yelling and then walked away, very disappointed. read more

Been going to PR Smog for three years and have always been satisfied with his work. Mark runs an honest business and never overcharges. I've also sent my wife and sister and, unlike other repair shops, he doesn't try to rip you off even if you're a woman and don't know much about cars. All in all, good business, I suggest trying him out before any other smog & repair. read more

Mark had advised me that my brakes needed to be done last month when i visited for pm on my truck. I called earlier this week to see if they would be open Saturday. His response was "Bring it in!"
