Unfortunately, the short ribs were too dry, and my second piece was too salty, but I enjoyed the mashed potatoes that accompanied the dish. The garlic fried rice on the sablefish was way too hard, and inedible. The sablefish itself was only okay, and didn't have it's traditional buttery texture. The potato fondant had too strong of a tarragon flavor and was quite disappointing. The tiramisu tasted like the mascarpone custard was scrambled, and I was unable to finish it. Their servers provided excellent service, it's just too bad that the food missed the mark. Also, it's worth noting that this company did not take food safety matters into consideration. We saw staff bringing up food in tubs and no warmers or hot plates were used to keep food outside of the "danger zone".

At the last minute, two additional guests advised that they would be attending. Alison Smitten, Catering Coordinator, told me not to worry - AMF would increase the order accordingly. The food arrived on time, plated on china, with fresh flowers as plate decoration. All required implements, such as tongs, were provided. Lovely little laminated cards with the name of each dish and its primary ingredients, and tiny wooden stands to put the cards in, were provided. Cocktail napkins were provided. All of the food was delectable, and my guests went back for more. I feel that I got great value for money, and from now on, AMF will be my caterer of choice. They provide flawless food and service. The website made it easy to choose a wonderful selection of charcuterie, cheese, veggie platters and I added some tapas type spring rolls etc. Cost per head was bang on what I had budgeted for (not cheap but good value for food that was prepared and delivered). They arrived at the start of the deliver window which is always a relief. Polite and quick to get it sorted out. Couldn't ask for anything more. Stopped here for a late lunch while in North Vancouver. We walked in, and it has typical Western…read moredecor one would normally associate with southern BBQ. My wife and I shared a 2-meat combo. Here are my thoughts: - Beef Brisket: Good. As far as BBQ in Vancouver goes, it's above average. The meat is tender, the right amount of seasoning, but the smoke isn't noticeable. - Pulled Pork: OK. I liked that it wasn't completely shredded pulled pork, It was "chunky" so eating it felt more substantive. I didn't think it needed the extra sauce - I felt it was overpowering the meat. - Cornbread: Bad. Didn't finish it. - Fries: Good. Came out hot and fresh, and plenty of seasoning. Service was straight-forward and it checked all the boxes. Overall, the food was generally somewhat better than average when it comes to BBQ in Vancouver, but doesn't compare to the subtle complexity of the BBQ from the Southern USA. It's probably unfair to make the comparison, but I feel it's important for visitors to have the right expectations walking in.

5.0 Amazing Experience With Emelles Catering!…read moreWe had such a great experience with Emelles Catering for our wedding in August. Nicole Burke was so great to work with, and her team of chefs, bartenders, and waiters/waitresses were very professional professional (and fun). Our reception was much like a blank canvas, so Nicole and her team needed to build there own kitchen and bring ALL of their supplies- it was very impressive!! The food quality is outstanding. Our guests still continue to rave about the food. From cocktails and appies, to the main dishes and desserts- it was all amazing! We had quite a few last minute changes to make, and they were always more than willing to help (including packing all our food and drinks up at the end of the night and storing it at their warehouse!)... oh and making us a cake! This is an extremely talented and dedicated team and would recommend them to anyone! Thank for everything!! -Mr. & Mrs. Toljanich

The lighting isn't the best, as the staff mostly rely on the large entrance window for natural light. Service Quality The staff was kind and friendly. They are more than happy to help you choose a sandwich if it's your first time. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Menu Variety Their sandwich selection is excellent, and the bread is particularly noteworthy. They also offer a couple of iced tea options, which is a nice alternative to water. Food Presentation If you're dining in, your sandwich will be served in a plastic basket lined with wax paper. For takeout, it's wrapped in the same wax paper. Food Taste and Quality I ordered the Spicy Italian, which had just the right amount of heat. It was generously loaded with greens, and the multigrain bread was fresh, likely baked that morning. Portion Sizes The portions are substantial. I was only able to finish half of my sandwich for lunch. Price and Value The sandwich cost about $15, which is on the pricier side. It would have been nice to see it priced around $12. Overall Experience and Recommendation If you're in the area or heading to Horseshoe Bay to catch a ferry, definitely stop by S'wich for a sandwich. I will definitely be returning to try other options on the menu.
