my experience with east high school was fun, but this school got some problems. People in the area…read morewill usually bring up the topic of fights, but all the rumors aren't necessarily true. Fights at east are easy to avoid, and if you are a student at east, or an incoming student, I'd recommend staying out of that crap because the fights usually suck to watch, and you should spend your time doing something productive. Honestly a lot of kids at this school are annoying and loud in the classroom, And there is some people with way to big of an ego and l'm exited to see those people not graduate. The school provides the basic American education system shit, and is a npc school in terms of the history and subjects they teach. Ww2, Poverty, conflicts, you know run of the mill social studies topics. The biggest problem with this school is the people. (Big shock) some people just have no chill and can't just be a nice person. I had a group of about 5-10 friends I hung out with everyday, and they were nice and having nice supportive friends are important, but also having mischievous friends is good too for fun. So in conclusion, the east experience is somewhat hostile, so I recommend surrounding yourself you find are kind, and fit your interests. Don't be a dick.

This is not a private school in the sense that you are paying money to get your kid(s) a better education. The education standards here were on par with or lower than area public schools. This is a private school in the sense that you are paying money to shelter your kid(s) from new people, ideas, or experiences. When I graduated and moved on to UW- Madison I was disappointed to learn many of my public school peers were way ahead of me in terms of college credits. They had the options to take classes that transferred for college credit in a wide range of studies. No such option at lakeside at the time. If you choose to send your children here be aware that the faculty is selected more on a blind allegiance to all things Lutheran and way less on actual ability, credentials, or suitability to teach. Many of them graduated from oddball Lutheran colleges where saying you believe is all that's needed to graduate. In my time a teacher was caught viewing pornography...during a class...in front of students...and not fired. I had an algebra instructor who did not understand the subject matter he was teaching and could only work through formulas following the teachers manual exactly. As soon as one variable was moved in a way the book did not show he was lost. My English instructor thought there was only one possible interpretation of each reading assignment; the one given in the instructor copy. When pressed to defend or elaborate on the instructor copy interpretation....there was a blank stare...followed by a verbatim re reading of the instructor copy. There was a religion teacher who would never have been able to keep his job in a public school. Here his erratic and occasionally self harming outbursts were just brushed off as him being a real zealot for the faith; when the man clearly had some mental heath issues. We had a vice principal that was obsessed with the idea of teenage gangs. We were sheltered Christian school kids going to a private school in a tiny town surrounded by farms; but this guy somehow saw evidence of gang activity everywhere. One of the star football players got caught with a bunch of pot in his locker. That would have been a suspension at a minimum for anyone else. His infraction was quietly overlooked because winning the upcoming football game was more important. This is a place to shelter and hide, a place where horizons are limited. This is not a place to develop and expand a young mind. I graduated a long time ago but family obligations dragged me back to lakeside once more for a recent graduation. The commencement speech could be summed up as 'don't forget gay marriage sucks'. Not words of wisdom or encouragement, just one last shot at the society they see as changing for the wrong around them....proving nothing has changed at lakeside.

A great place for a quality Christian education. There are great facilities with an awesome staff…read morethat truly care about your children and their education and more importantly, their faith.
