I called them to request service and it was almost like I was bothering them. I was given a first available appointment 27 days in the future. Can you believe it; 27 days!!! This is hot, humid, rainy Maine in the summer. I reiterated I was an existing customer and tried to impress on her that this was somewhat urgent and asked for a sooner date. I was told there was nothing sooner but she would escalate to a manager who would call me. 2 days later, I haven't received a call.... In the meantime, I called LaPlante Home Services who said they could be here in under 48 hours. They were polite and seemed excited that I called. The technician arrived at exactly the appointed time, did a thorough analysis of my problem, and completed the work in a little over an hour. The technician was friendly, courteous and professional. A pleasure to work with. Needless to say, I'm moving all my home service needs to LaPlante! Keep up the great work Shawn.

I didn't even have to leave a message and wait for a call back! (The other guy I called never even returned my call.) He was willing to come within a couple of days to check out the job and provide an estimate -- he was there the next day. He was extremely responsive via text regarding the permit and when he would be coming. He was on the dot on time. He was also polite and respectful with asking for my preference about him wearing a mask. On his way out, it occurred to me to ask him a question about a concern I had about an old outlet. He came back in to check it out and was willing to replace it right then, and taught me how to know when one should be replaced. I found two others in the house while he did that one and he was willing to replace those, too, in spite of having another job scheduled after mine. I expected to have to pay him extra for that work, but when I got the invoice, he didn't charge me extra because apparently the big job he came for didn't take quite as long as he'd expected. I was super impressed by his honesty and his work ethic. Andrew's officially my new electrician!

Our tech Alex arrived on time as promised. After trying and failing to clear it, he arrived at the same conclusion. He was able to get a new toilet, install all in 90 minutes and left within three hours from the start of the appointment. Another thing that impressed me was that he did not try to add on additional services or products. Also when I asked him about a separate issue, he admitted that he was not familiar with the problem. He did not try to bluff his way through it. He admitted what he did not know. That means we could trust his recommendations. I would definitely call them in the future.
