"It's DEAD!" says the AAA representative once he tested my battery levels. (Well, I figured that when the car had trouble turning over!) Then he offered to replace it (since he'd already brought one with him - part of their service.) I politely declined because, "AAA has done a couple of battery replacements on a couple of my other cars before and I'm simply just not gonna make the same mistake a third time." (He understood, had me sign some stuff and he was on his way.) With Yelp to the rescue yet again, I found Powerstride and called ahead to make sure they had what I needed. "We do!" Came through later that same afternoon. Place was empty (which was great since I was in a bit of a time constraint.) Luis was there to greet me. He tested the battery got and confirmed AAA's findings. He gave me a quote and got working on it immediately. I remained in the car for the most part. I'm not sure if time flew maybe because I was doing a bit of reading or he was just THAT fast. I don't think I was there for more than 15 minutes. He also informed me there's a 3yr warranty and that they have locations from San Francisco to San Diego. (Good to know! I make a lotta treks in between!) He also gave me a phone number to call in case I find myself in battery trouble and I happen to be out of state. Zero snags. Excellent service. Highly recommending. read more

I can't review their products, but their customer service and honesty impressed me today. After waiting 20 minutes at Pep Boys just for a battery check, I gave up and found Powerstride. They were able to get me in right away, and sure enough, dud battery. However, they were the ones who caught that my battery was only changed 26 months ago, within the 30-month dealership warranty that was printed on the battery label. I ended up calling the dealership and got it replaced for free (although it took about 4 times as long at there!). Really appreciated the honesty, and will trust them again in the future. read more

I've been really disappointed with this battery company. In April I got a used battery (its what was in the budget at the time) they said I'd have a good 1-2 years use out of it . It went dead the very next day and I was stranded in Long Beach at 2am. Thank God for AAA. I got towed back to Powerstride and they replaced it w a more powerful battery for my car . It's now December tried to start the car this morning and no juice . AAA tested battery alternator and starter and guess what ? DEAD BATTERY Again ! My alternator and starter are new ( replaced in May ) I'm now back at Powerstride ( because of the free replacement warranty ) 3rd time within 8 months I'm getting another battery . I'm giving 2 stars because the guys that work there are nice . I'm just not sure about the actual quality of the batteries they carry . One had water in it ! I highly recommend this place! It was my first time experiencing battery completely dying, i was so scared but i felt relieved after my friend recommended this place. The guy (Mr. Luis) working here was very nice and waited for me even if it was almost closing time! Mr. Luis seems very experienced, quick and professional.
