My husband and I were the first 2 clients of CrossFit Rye Canyon in 2012 and I am still here =). IT IS THE BEST CROSSFIT GYM in the SCV!!! All of the coaches & owners have always been very friendly and caring. The people are AMAZING & encouraging. It is like a true community & family. This gym has gone through many changes and upgrades throughout the years BUT, nothing to extent of what they have done currently. To date, the gym has stepped up, like NO OTHER GYM in the SCV has done before! I'm very impressed with the progress of our gym and the new owners care SO MUCH about the well-being of their clients and overall maintenance and cleanliness of the gym (THANK YOU SO MUCH!) They have made many improvements such as a filtered water machine to fill your sports bottles; various body building machines (open to ALL members, not only for the bodybuilders) and NEW equipment (Jump Ropes, Barbells, Rigs, Bands, Mats, to name a few); lighting all around the building so that we can feel safe walking back to our cars; 24 hour access to work out ANY TIME, because there is a security lock app you could download; numerous Crossfit classes... the list goes on and on! Dropped in Nov '17. Very welcoming box. they responded to my email (which is rare) with a welcome and willingness to allow me to come in for the "open gym" hours since I'm an experienced lifter. I did not participate in the class, but the coach was friendly, funny, competent and kept the class moving. The WOD was a long grinder(which it seems this gym favors). Nice facility, got a t-shirt with my drop-in fee. Will be back next time I'm in Santa Clarita. read more

I am blown away each time in terms of the quality of workout and instruction from all the coaches at CrossFit Rye Canyon! From Jose, Sam, Jason, Howard (sorry if I've left out some other coaches!), they've always had my back in terms of checking on my form, encouraging me to push harder when I needed or just plain call me out when I was feeling like a big wuss. Our group work outs are so fun because everyone is so encouraging and they all work really hard every time they come in. The programming is well thought out. The coaches make class take the time with everyone in class to make sure we can give it our all but in a safe way. I love that Rye Canyon offers Oly class, Fitcon, Kids Crossfit as well. I am new to Crossfit and was not sure CF was for me but after my initial workout here I was hooked! I am amazed how professional everyone is. No question has gone unanswered and time is always given to help you get an understanding of the move and form right. I am also amazed at the members; everyone is really friendly and willing to help. I first started attending to Crossfit Rye Canyon when they first opened in aug/ sept 13'... I've been to other boxes b4 but found one thing that set this box apart from the others is the focus on FORM. crossfit "horror" stories are often the result of poor form and coaching... one trip to Crossfit Rye Canyon and u'll quickly realize that it's not always about the numbers here (tho they do try to challenge u). several members here used to go to other boxes but became members here once they've realized, "holy crap, I've been doing it wrong the ENTIRE TIME". for those that haven't tried crossfit b4, give it a shot. it's a great way to work on improving ur life in every aspect - building strength, endurance, agility, speed, balance... for crossfit veterans, definitely come by and see the difference when you focus on form - improved/ quicker results & less injury-prone... the location is clean & moderately sized... location is almost a year old so equipment and everything else is still brand-new... any questions? make sure to ask for James or Alex and they'll be more than happy to answer can concerns you may have. prices are lower than other places as well so come check it out! read more

If you're looking for a place to learn the movements of crossfit safely and correctly, Rye Canyon CF is definitely the place to check out. Their facility is pretty large and they have just about everything you need for a CF gym including stones, prowlers, ropes, rings, and even a basketball hoop! Their coaches are very experienced and know what they're talking about. Not only do they teach the movements well but they demonstrate them with great form and technique too. I'm new to Rye Canyon Crossfit and Barbell club and to CrossFit in general. I'm an avid lifter but still I've been intimidated to try CrossFit. I feel like often CrossFit gyms are intimidating and clients aren't the friendliest. I had reached out to a few gyms in the past and ended up not trying them because of this. One morning I decided to go for it and I reached out to Rye Canyon. Coach Ed immediately got back to me (through text, which I really appreciate). He was friendly and welcoming right from the get go. I went in for a trial about a month ago and I've been going a few times a week since then. Coach Ed is absolutely amazing and the clients who go to this gym are so unbelievably welcoming and supportive. Coach Ed and the other owners have created such a great atmosphere. All of the CrossFit lifts are new to me, but Coach Ed has been patient, and incredibly encouraging in instructing me through them. The gym is super clean, really organized and is stacked with brand new equipment. If you've been thinking about trying CrossFit but have been nervous or intimidated, give this gym a try. Best box in SCV. Coaches are amazing and actually teach and give you positive reinforcement. You have their attention the full workout. The coaches actually show you the moves and show what is asked of you. Their training hands down is amazing!! It's not the same boring monotonous workout like other gyms. I highly recommend this gym! I was in the area for a wedding. I found this gym on yelp and went to it because of the 10am class on Saturday. Everybody was welcoming.
