    New rigs and equipment
    Jennifer B.

My husband and I were the first 2 clients of CrossFit Rye Canyon in 2012 and I am still here =). IT IS THE BEST CROSSFIT GYM in the SCV!!! All of the coaches & owners have always been very friendly and caring. The people are AMAZING & encouraging. It is like a true community & family. This gym has gone through many changes and upgrades throughout the years BUT, nothing to extent of what they have done currently. To date, the gym has stepped up, like NO OTHER GYM in the SCV has done before! I'm very impressed with the progress of our gym and the new owners care SO MUCH about the well-being of their clients and overall maintenance and cleanliness of the gym (THANK YOU SO MUCH!) They have made many improvements such as a filtered water machine to fill your sports bottles; various body building machines (open to ALL members, not only for the bodybuilders) and NEW equipment (Jump Ropes, Barbells, Rigs, Bands, Mats, to name a few); lighting all around the building so that we can feel safe walking back to our cars; 24 hour access to work out ANY TIME, because there is a security lock app you could download; numerous Crossfit classes... the list goes on and on! Some 10 year old equipment has been replaced by newer ones. Sooo, if you're ever in Valencia or the Santa Clarita Valley, drop in, take a class, & try it for yourself!

Great barbells, lots of "spin", and the nice Rogue Comp plates. Great facility.

Dropped in Nov '17. Very welcoming box. they responded to my email (which is rare) with a welcome and willingness to allow me to come in for the "open gym" hours since I'm an experienced lifter. I did not participate in the class, but the coach was friendly, funny, competent and kept the class moving. The WOD was a long grinder(which it seems this gym favors). Nice facility, got a t-shirt with my drop-in fee. Will be back next time I'm in Santa Clarita.

    Our CFRC Family!

CFRC is more than an amazing CrossFit Gym - our crew there feels like family! We have been members for two years and have seen ourselves grow in strength and stamina like never before. The coaches here are so knowledgeable and supportive, we are able to challenge ourselves at the perfect pace. Our teenaged sons also love to work out here. It's the perfect match for the whole family. Special shout-outs to our favorite 6AM coaches - Jose, Sam, Jason, Teddy and Enrique. You are the BEST! Thanks for keeping us coming back for more!

I visit most of the Crossfit gyms out here in Santa Clarita but love Crossfit Rye Canyon the MOST! Our group work outs are so fun because everyone is so encouraging and they all work really hard every time they come in. The programming is well thought out. The coaches make class take the time with everyone in class to make sure we can give it our all but in a safe way. I love that Rye Canyon offers Oly class, Fitcon, Kids Crossfit as well. Our BBQs that James (owner of Gogi House) puts on is reason enough to check this place out!!

I have dropped in to crossfit rye canyon several times and each time I have been there I was welcomed with open arms. It felt like I was back at my home box. The programming and coaches are nothing less than perfect. I strongly recommend you drop in and check rye canyon out. It will be worth it!

I was first introduced to Matthew Cather by my 17-year-old son 11 years ago, and at the time, I thought it was the toughest workout I had ever attempted. I started training with Matthew twice a week, and now I train five times a week--growing not just physically stronger but also mentally resilient. As a 52-year-old, I firmly believe that the key to longevity is a combination of weight training, strength, mobility, and conditioning--all of which are seamlessly incorporated into our program at Cozmosize. I feel truly blessed to be part of the Cozmo family, and I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to elevate their fitness journey!

Finally found my niche between heavy lifting at a typical gym, and doing my cardio outdoors. But recently, I needed that extra ooomph to push me harder than I was pushing myself. Now if you've ever been to a Crossfit gym, you know how hardcore that workout is. And not all Crossfit gyms are created equally. I wanted to try something different and maybe something that wouldn't burn me out so much that I couldn't continue the heavy lifting I was still doing. Enter Training Day Fitness. I liked the class structure. Kept me on a good schedule. And the classes were never ever too big. Another plus. The workouts were a great mixture of strength, core, cardio, and lots of movement. Something I was lacking in my own workouts. The results were amazing within the first couple of months. I completely blasted through y heavy weight plateaus. I was more energetic. I moved faster. Just all around healthier. And there was never a point where I felt that I was overdoing it to dangerous levels. The workouts were so scalable that no matter where you were in your fitness and what your goals were, everyone could workout together. And because it's a small gym, it feels like a family where everyone supports and encourages each other in their fitness journey. Price-wise, it may seem expensive when comparing to just a normal gym membership. But you have to keep in mind that every session is a personal training session. So when you break it down, the savings over a personal trainer at your Globo-Gym is great. And trust me on this one, having known personal trainers personally (haha) and seeing the training sessions at the gyms, I'd pass on those. Being that TDF actually trains young athletes from local schools, it's a great place for an average joe like me to get access to the kind of training that varsity athletes get.

If you want to be encouraged to strive for excellence, come be a part of our family! There are coaches here who actually teach and inspire you to get better at your form and improve upon your weaknesses. Yes, modifications are possible and they will scale the workouts for you if you have an injury, or you're learning a new skill, but as an athlete, you're encouraged to push yourself a little harder if you can. And you read that right, I said athlete. When I walked into this facility nearly two years ago, it was mainly due to a challenge set by a group of mom friends who wanted to lose fifteen pounds. Losing weight wasn't my ultimate goal. I just wanted to get stronger and lift things easily into old age. I was always intimidated by CrossFit, having only heard about how intense the workouts were and how people got badly injured. The idea of sweating with other people grossed me out, too. You'd be amazed what a little peer pressure from a group of moms will do for you, though! The first week was grueling and my body felt like I had been run over by a semi-truck. A friend who had been doing CrossFit for years told me to stick with it, and to take a rest day every three days or so. So bit by bit, with encouragement from total strangers who later became good friends and coaches who patiently taught me some skills, I stuck with it. Well fast forward to about a year into my fitness journey and Covid-19 struck the entire world. Winning Edge closed its doors early, way before the quarantine lockdown was enforced in LA County. This didn't stop us from working out together as a group, however. Management allowed us to take gym equipment home on a first-come, first-served basis, without charging any additional fees. This enabled us to continue working out from home via Zoom, which was adopted early on by our coaches. Instead of gaining weight during Covid, I actually got fitter. We even had fitness challenges and Zoom happy hours to keep us feeling inspired and connected. Winning Edge continued to make things better when we were finally allowed to get back to the gym but, surprise, we had to work out outdoors. We had an amazing canopy set up and an outdoor rig. A reservation system was put in place so we could limit the number of people coming and going. When it got too hot indoors, the powers-that-be had enormous industrial-sized fans installed. Basically, the members are spoiled at this gym. I mean, I do remember a time when we had towels for our use, but with Covid-19 that never made a comeback and understandably so! I didn't mean to write an entire essay on my love for all things Winning Edge, but what it comes down to is the people that make up this place. When you walk into this gym, know that you will become part of a community that celebrates the first and last person finishing a workout. You face the grueling workout together and enjoy the reward together. It's even ok to sweat next to these peeps. Just bring your own towel.

I've never come to F45 thinking, "This again?" Each workout is unique and challenges me physically and mentally. And just when I feel cocky and think, "How is this workout going to make me sweat?" I am sweating, thirsty, and waiting for the 45 minutes to be over! Sometimes I just drive home in a stunned silence that I got through the workout without collapsing. Also, the coaches here are phenomenal! Some will show you the correct form, others will motivate you by shouting encouraging words, and others will sometimes work alongside you on a machine or two if you don't have a partner to keep you motivated and giving it your all.
