Our garden tub sprung a leak which necessitated the remodel. We hired CMK Construction to remodel…read moreour shower/tub area. Best. Decision. Ever! We got 2 bids before hiring CMK. One company came out to meet with us and then never called us back to see if we wanted to proceed with them or if we had any questions. Their pricing was also higher than CMKs and even though their methodology seemed comprable, their lack of communication didn't bode well. Our first CMK visit on 3/3 was with Jason C. who went over all of the details with us. Hubby and I decided to eliminate the garden tub altogether and expand the shower area. We really didn't have a clear idea of what we wanted and Jason encouraged us to look at Pinterest and other sites to get a better feel for what it could look like. The printed information Jason gave us regarding their workmanship and guarantees was very reassuring. He even gave us a sheet to do comparisons with other companies and with questions we could ask to better compare bids. He explained how they use a special water barrier to ensure moisture doesn't seep into the walls. He also gave us printed instructions with what we could expect at each stage of construction. Super helpful! Once we decided on CMK, they sent us a proposal and we were off to the races! They estimated 4-6 weeks for the entire project. We signed the contract on 3/31. They let us know that we were in their queue for August. We then met with Grady S. who is one of their designers. Grady came out to the house on 4/23 to look at the existing bathroom and to ask us specific questions on what colors and hardware we were looking for. He measured everything and said he'd schedule us to come to their design studio to make final selections. We met Grady on May 6 and he helped us select wall tiles, floor tiles, paint colors, and hardware. Once we made the selections, he printed out CAD drawings of everything so we could get a feel for what it would look like. From there, they ordered everything for our job. We had a pre-construction meeting with our assigned project manager, Zach N. on 7/17. Zach said they could start earlier than expected and went over the contract and the change order we requested. Again, he made sure that we were all on the same page. From there on, Zach communicated with us throughout the whole process via phone and text. He also came by often to check up on the work that was being done. They began on July 21 2026. The contractors that they used were all very professional and easy to work with. Some of the crews spoke very little to no English (Spanish and Portuguese), but since I am a bilingual Latina, it was no problem for us, although I could see where this could be an issue with other clients. The demo team put down butcher paper from the front door to and including the master bath and also put down plastic on our carpet. Then they proceeded to put up plastic walls to cut down on the dust, which I completely appreciated!! It still got dusty, but that's to be expected. Demo was done in a day and then they started working on the shower. The contractors that came out were very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions, which we incorporated, as they were working. They came out most days. After the demo team was done, the concrete team (that's what I call them) came out and installed the Schluter waterproofing system and put up the wall tiles and floor tiles. The plumber Mitch L. came out to do his bit, as did the electrician who installed a new exhaust fan. Mitch was super informative regarding what had to be done. We had a termite guy come out and spray the floor before they poured the new concrete. The painter was very detail oriented and didn't leave until he was fully satisfied with the work. He really did a great job and went above and beyond. He took away all of the floor coverings and swept all the areas. Mitch came back out to install the shower hardware and ensure that it was working properly. Both Mitch and Zach were in communication with the Pasco County inspectors and all approvals were done via Zoom. Gotta love technology! Tomorrow they will install the glass above the knee wall and do the final clean. It took 3 weeks. I can't say enough about CMK as a whole and the team, including Jason, Grady, and especially Zach. They under-promised and over-delivered! Remodeling is very expensive work and I'm so very glad we went with CMK. I can highly recommend them!!

After dealing with high quotes and poor follow-up from other companies, it was refreshing to find a team that was responsive, professional, and made the process stress-free from the very first meeting. Veto was especially accommodating with scheduling and product selections, which made everything even easier. Our old siding had definitely seen better days, and I knew I wanted Hardie siding for its durability and warranty. Learning that Alpine had just won a Hardie Award gave us extra peace of mind. We ultimately chose pre-painted James Hardie lap siding in Iron Gray with crisp Arctic White trim--a combination that completely transformed the house. Neighbors constantly compliment the new look, calling it sharp and coastal. Also, in the email the company states they will pay previous customers for referrals. The good and bad: *Overall the project is complete and we now have a large space to relax and enjoy our backyard. *We picked this company because they stated that some of the funds are given back to charity or used for missions. *The people actually doing the work, work so very hard! Concerns/issues: *They dont treat the workers well. Workers are left onsite all day with no transportation and have no bathrooms, food, or shade. I cant even imagine after 10+ hours where they used the bathroom in our yard. *They constantly left garbage around for us to pick up. They even left a bunch of garbage in my laundry basket. I provided black lawn bags for use every day but garbage was not disposed of properly. * The workers do not speak English so there was no way for us to communicate with them and plans were not explained accurately from the main office to the crew as they began working. They used a map that I drew and made mistakes they had to fix. *The people who completed the steps to the pool were from a different company and again they did not know the plans. I had to explain the plan to them and show them pictures. The railing for the steps was built so high we had to raise our arms all the way up just to reach. Also the railing wasnt properly screwed in all the way creating a safety hazard. They did eventually come back and fix this. *The company used a medium duty landscape fabric from Home Depot under the rocks and we are already battling a ton of weeds in the rock areas. We asked that they use something better but we were told no and they instead overlapped the medium strength landscape material. They stated that we can just call and they will come back and pull the weeds but its only two weeks later and we already have a bunch of weeds coming through. I can't imagine having to call every two weeks for weed removal. *Play sand was used to fill the spaces in between the pavers instead of paver sand. *A pile of rock was left in the driveway for my husband and I to take of. This easily could've been added to the rock area in the backyard where the landscape fabric is showing. *Many adjustments had to continuously be made due to the language barrier we had with the crew. *Dangerous objects were consistently left lying around. They know we have a dog. We were told that its a construction site and our dog couldnt use the backyard. Blades, knives, and other dangerous objects were left around the yard and not put away. *We had a hurricane expected to come through the area and no one contacted us to make sure their tools and supplies were picked up as not to be a hazard to our property or our neighbors property. We had to clean up all of their tools and store them in our shed. Overall, I cannot say I would recommend them to someone. We feel it was a stressful process and we feel awful for the conditions the crew has to work in.
