Love this place! The guy that runs the front, I think his name is John is sooo helpful and not too bad on the eyes.

Powerhouse has been our "go to" for our landscaping and home projects for the past year! We've purchased a Zero turn mower and a hitch for attachments. The sale was easy and we were offered a very fair purchase price. John helped my husband find the right "fit" for his body and identified the right mower for our personal needs. We've sinced purchased Gravely t-shirts and hats - the shirts are the softest and best fitting!! Finally, we have a battery operated blower waiting for us to pick up now. The customer service from the front desk area is amazing. I haven't personally needed service at this time, but I expect all of our needs will be met when the time comes! I called to have my riding lawn mower picked up for service, this pickup was to take place on a Monday at 4:30 pm. I called to find out if they were still coming and the man in the service department claimed the driver was held up in traffic, but if this were true why no phone call. I said I understood and rescheduled for that Friday at the same time of 4 pm. Unfortunately, still no pickup or phone call, I guess he didn't like the sound of my voice and didn't want to tell me no so say yes and do just the opposite. Good experience fixing my weed trimmer. No issues, would recommend for anyone who needs a weed eater repaired.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR EQUIPMENT HERE FOR REPAIR. Dropped off a tractor for them to fix last year. In the over six months they had it, they changed a fuel filter and "checked" the starter. Not once in that time did they contact me - if I didn't stop by and inquire every month or so - it would still be sitting there. There was ABSOLUTELY no customer service or concern by either the mechanic or the owner. To tell you how competent the mechanic was - I had to almost give it away to a father and his son (who actually is a mechanic). They got it running in less than two days. One more thought - the starter they said they checked was one of the problems. Go elsewhere. read more

I can't say enough about how good the service we received was. John helped us pick out our first gravely mower and we love it. Riki was bright, happy and was obviously happy to help us. We bought out Arctic Cat ATV from Powerhouse Eq. in Smithfield, VA in 2013 and have had several repair visits over the years in which we were satisfied. I just went to pick up the ATV after another service visit for the same problem as the last two. Imagine my surprise when I received the bill of $1150+ for replacing the carburator and installing two front tires. The tires I received an estimate of $103 a piece before install. The ATV repair involving the replacement of the carburator and the cost, I was never given an estimate. Just charged $449 for a new carb that I can buy from multiple places for UNDER $100 and $440 labor for installing the carb. Talk about overcharging. Almost 10 years and then this? Sometimes all I can do is shake my head at the way many businesses are heading into the do not care zone. read more

We took a new Troy Bilt power mower into this business for warranty work in September 2019 at the recommendation of Troy Bilt. This was our nearest authorized service center. It is now July 2020, and our mower has not been repaired or replaced. Powerhouse Equipment has given us a different story each time we contact them, from they are doing an engine replacement to we are getting a new mower but we have gotten none of those things. Also, as of now the business has not replied to a complaint we filed with the Better Business Bureau. read more
