Hosanna and Barbi were great to work with! My husband and I were planning to visit Hawaii to take our Maternity photos and after connecting with several photographers we came across Hosanna and Barbi! They were great with communication, scheduling, on time, reasonably priced, were able to recommend a place for us to take our photos. My husband really appreciated how Barbi was able to direct our poses as well as allowed us to be silly and take candids, and Hosanna turned around her edits and delivered our photos within a few days. They were very sweet, and made this a quick and easy experience for us. We wanted a beautiful background, bold color tones, and a fun experience and they delivered! We would highly recommend their team! Our family and friends are obsessed with out photos ! read more

Thank you Hosanna for being so accommodating and flexible! I made contact with Hosanna prior to my vacation to Oahu, but little did I know my boyfriend was planning a proposal. She worked with my fiancé Gerardo on the surprise and coordinated with the photographer Barbi. Barbi on the other hand made us feel so comfortable and in our element as she guided us through the poses. The pictures definitely captured our relationship and will be forever cherished. You won't regret booking these two!!! Thank you Barbi and Hosanna for this beautiful keepsake. read more

Hosanna and Barbie are both amazing. Communication was prompt and efficient. I was able to schedule a maternity photo shoot a week prior to my arrival in Oahu. They were both very accommodating and directions were simple and easy to understand. Barbie provided us with some amazing photos!! What a beautiful experience it was for all of us. Not only was Hosanna going through a hard time and that moment she still managed to make us smile and feel like we were her only concern. My family traveled to Honolulu for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We have 2 daughters 7 & 10, who were all over the place because of so much excitement and Hosanna was still able to catch some beautiful moments of all of us. I am more then happy with our photos and experience, even though traffic and time wasn't on our side :) Beautiful experience and would definitely recommend her to all. read more

We would recommend Hosanna and Barbi! It was our first time in Oahu, and we needed guidance in picking the best day/time/spot for our engagement pictures. The duo was super helpful, responsive, priced reasonably, and had quick turnaround with pictures. Not to mention the gorgeous, fun sunset photoshoot we had with Barbi. Overall, very pleased with the experience! read more

We met Zanny on a catamaran and it was fate! My husband and I had just gotten engaged and we where getting discouraged by the selection of photographers in our area! They where either too expensive or untalented or both. Luckily Zanny took a chance on us and I have to say that our engagement pictures made me cry tears of joy! She captured how we felt about each other in a way I didn't think possible! She mad us feel instantly comfortable and at ease and we had a blast! We could not have been more thrilled with the end result and the shoot was so fun we did a second one! We are so happy we met Zanny and that we now call her friend! I couldn't recommend here enough and I will continue to send friends and family her way with confidence that they will love their photos as much as we do! read more

Hosanna is an amazing and talented photographer! She did our family photo shoot in La Jolla in San Diego with our furbaby, and we absolutely loved working with her! She's great with dogs, and she brought her fiancé who's also great with dogs. She was very good at giving us direction on different poses. She's very experienced working with couples, and I love every shot she captured! Very flattering looks for me because I placed my legs / body the right way, I highly recommend her! read more

Hosanna is extremely talented, and so warm and easy!! My husband is not usually comfortable with any kind of photo ops but she ensured both of us were comfortable and pictures came out great!! Absolutely loved our time and photos with Powerful Pauses. Barbie, the photographer, was amazing to work with! She took both candids and more formal shots. All were great and it was so hard to choose which were the best! She had a way of putting my girls at ease and getting those smiles to come out when needed. The moments she helped create are invaluable. There is such great value in the amount spent versus the number of quality photos we received. We considered other companies and after reviewing the portfolio and the ability to receive all pictures taken for one price, we were sold! Hosana, the editor/owner, was great to communicate with us before and after the shoot and even texted preview pictures. Her editing skills were great! I highly recommend Powerful Pauses for anyone considering pictures on Oahu read more

Hosanna and Barbi were excellent to work with. We set this up long distance before we travelled to Oahu. Their suggestions on a place and time to shoot were very much appreciated and spot on! The owner, Hosanna, is an excellent communicator and added an appreciated personal touch that made me feel very comfortable with our choice to use their company to capture our 25th anniversary celebration. We met Barbi at Sandy Beach at sunrise. What a magical time and Barbi was so wonderful to work and very encouraging. The photos turned out great and this was definitely a highlight of our trip. Hosanna and Barbi are great - super patient, professional and kind. They were very patient with us and our little baby. Every step of our booking was stress-free. My fiancé and I were in Hawaii for a cruise and happened to stumble upon Hosanna a few weeks before getting there. We knew we wanted to do our engagement photos in Hawaii, but did not expect to do it in Honolulu since we were there so briefly. I just have to say that I am so glad we did them there because of having Hosanna as our photographer! We instantly felt comfortable and were able to easily fully trust her and her opinions on poses because we had no clue! She actually recommended the location we took our photos based off of my initial message about the type of place where we wanted and were absolutely blown away when we arrived! If she were in Texas I would without a doubt rehire her for our wedding and any other photo shoot!! The photos were beautiful and it was such a great experience. read more

Beyond happy that we came across Hosanna and her photography business. After a last minute change of plans due to my boyfriends military work schedule, we were unable to keep our original appointment with another company to have photos done of us and they were unable to schedule us at another time. We're in a long distance relationship and I was in Hawaii visiting only for a few more days. After reaching out to a few different photographers, Hosanna replied to my request for an appointment super fast and a couple of days later we had our photos taken! Already thrilled that we were still able to do this, we were even more pleased with how the appointment went! She made us both feel super comfortable and it was a lot more casual than I had thought it was going to be. She made it feel effortless for us and that truly shows in our pictures. Hosanna captured real moments for us that now we can treasure forever. The best part of it all was that while we expected to wait a decent amount of time for pictures (she told us that it can take a few weeks) we ended up having all of our photos & more than we even expected the next night! We absolutely LOVE the photos and I cannot express enough how happy we are with everything! Thank you again Hosanna for our beautiful photos! I would 100% recommend using her if you're looking for quality work at a VERY fair price and for great communication and someone super friendly! I added a few of our favorite photos! Love them :) read more

I can not say ENOUGH GOOD THINGS about working with Hosanna. Neither my husband Mike or I are even a little bit photogenic. But Hosanna really made the experience so fun that it didn't feel like we were having photos taken. Also, she does a PHENOMENAL job getting the candid shots - not just the posed looking at the camera shots. Once the shoot was over, she got our images to us in less than a few days! She's warm, friendly, and just makes it a fun experience. I would recommend her time and time again - and will be contacting her again the next time we travel! She really is AMAZING and will make it a wonderful experience for you! read more

Barbi and Hosanna are a dream team! I found them off of Living Social and booked a photoshoot for a family/ maternity photoshoot in Waikiki. Hosanna was able to recommend a beautiful location (the Hawaiian Hilton Lagoon) which was a short walk from the resort we were staying at. Barbi took our photos and like all the reviews mention-- she is AMAZING with families/ kids! My toddler son was feeling under the weather and is also extremely shy with new people and places. But somehow Barbi was able to capture every little smile and laugh perfectly. When we got our edited photos back literally a week after our shoot day, I was in shock. Not only were they already edited, but the colors were STUNNING and there were so many good pictures to choose from! I've already uploaded a bunch of them into a collage for our holiday greeting card this year and cannot wait to post them on social media for all of our friends and family to see. I couldn't be happier with the results and cannot recommend them enough. read more

Hosanna is AWESOME!! When you book a photographer, most of the time, you're just hoping the pictures will turn out great. But when I asked Hosanna to take our family photos, I knew they would be beautiful and they are!! They turned out so amazing! They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but Hosanna's photos are PRICELESS! I still can't get over the beach wedding photos she captured for us - they're a dream come true! They're so good, they don't even look real, seriously. Multiple people who've seen them have commented on how they look like the photos that come inside nice new picture frames when you buy them ;) Not only are the finished products stunning, but the entire process working with Hosanna was simply delightful. Corresponding and negotiating with her was super easy; she's flexible, available and straightforward. She arrived early (to a super remote location she had never been to) without issue and seamlessly wove herself in to capture the most intimate of moments without ever being noticed. She had lots of great pose ideas for everyone and gracefully directed our entire wedding party into a wide variety of shots before and after the ceremony. We got the beautifully edited photos in a timely and professional (no need to follow up with her, as she keeps in touch with progress and the occasional teaser shot) manner, and her work was worth WAY more than we paid, IMO. She is a dream photographer and I'll forever thank the stars that she was there to capture our wedding day. Mahalo nui loa, Zanny! read more

I've had professional photos taken before but my boyfriend has not. I have never felt as comfortable with other photographers as I have with Hosanna and she really helped him feel at ease. Hosanna is amazing! My fiancé and I originally just wanted to enjoy our long overdue vacation in Hawaii. We then decided to do our engagement photo shoot there since where is the better place to take our photos than Hawaii. I am so happy we found Hosanna. She was wonderful to work with throughout the whole process - from initial email/phone contact, to the photo shoot day and follow up afterwards, she was always friendly and responsive. Hosanna is extremely skilled and has an eye for what will look great. Even though we were a bit shy in front of the camera, but she was able to make us comfortable with our poses. Throughout the shoot, she would show us some of the shots to give us a glimpse of what they look like. She made sure to take multiple shots each poses, and she ended up with over 500 photos for a 2 hour session! How awesome is that? Despite of her busy schedule, she managed to send us some of the preview photos a day after. We promptly received both our retouched and raw photos just a week after, and they turned out beautifully. We were satisfied and amazed with the photos. They really blew my expectations out of the water, which made our trip a very memorable one. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend her and definitely look forward to working with her again in the near future. Thank you so much Hosanna. read more

I've never had professional photos taken before and was slightly nervous but Hosanna made me feel really comfortable with the situation. I am SO happy we found Hosanna! My husband, 18 month old son, & I took our very first family vacation. My husband & I have been on trips together before, but this was our first time with our toddler. Since we were going to be on the Islands, I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to take beautiful family photos. Prior to our cruise, I found Hosanna on Yelp & contacted her. She called me back promptly & our phone conversation was very pleasant as we discussed details. Since I got a great vibe from her, I booked her immediately. I'm very thankful that I booked Hosanna because working with her was so pleasant ever since the initial contact. I appreciated how she made herself available pretty much the entire day of our photo shoot. My situation was a little bit unique because we were coming in to the island via a cruise & I told Hosanna during our initial contact that it would be difficult for me to set an exact time to meet her. There were multiple things we wanted to do once we arrived & we pretty much had to play everything by ear that day. On top of that, we only had a certain amount of time on Oahu & had to be back on the ship. With all this being said, my point is that Hosanna was very understanding & gracious. She told me that she would make herself available the entire day & that we will just be in communication the day we arrived...and she did just that! Once our ship arrived, she was so good in making contact with me. I'm very much a planner, so I definitely appreciated her professionalism in making sure to stay in the loop with me. Once we decided on a time & place to meet, it all just went great from there! My husband, son, & I were immediately comfortable with her. She was very friendly & had such a warm personality. We were happy with the specific spots she took our photos at. I was able to tell right away that they would come out beautiful. She has a great eye. My concern was how my 18 month old son was going to be during our photo shoot. She worked very well with him. She was very patient & I appreciated how it was important to her to take perfect shots of us, especially of our son. She works very well with toddlers/kids, & in turn, my son did great! The 3 of us felt very comfortable with her & it was a fun photo shoot! I was amazed by her turn around time. We received all the photos from her in 4 days. My husband & I got really excited to see our photos & Hosanna did not disappoint! All the photos are gorgeous & definitely exceeded our expectations. We don't regret having Hosanna do our first family photo shoot! Thank you so much Hosanna! You made this time for us very pleasant & special. Now we have beautiful photos to look at that represent amazing memories for years to come! You won't go wrong having Hosanna take your photos! You can definitely tell that she cares about giving her clients high quality photos that capture special moments for you and your loved ones! read more
