My son just began Middle school and leaving his Elementary school was not easy also not making the best grades. I knew I had to make a change for his sake so I decided to take him to tutoring twice a week for 2 hours. My mother recommended the spot because she knew the owner and they worked together in FIU so I gave it a chance. I can't say enough good things about this place her name is Varta (the owner) and her husband's name is Imoh he is the one that tutors my son and his grades have increased to As and Bs his self esteem has gotten better and feels excited to go to school. I am going to countinue with his tutoring all the way till the end of the school year they also have other tutors their they close at 9pm and are open on the weekends. As a parent of a child with ADHD I'm very pleased with the tutoring that my child received this summer. Let me tell you the professors here are AMAZING, i didn't go there for too long, only for about 4 weeks and they still taught me so much and managed to help me go from a 1260 to a 1360 on my SATs that's a 100 points jump! They are very patient and don't mind explaining things several times, they gave me many tips of how to work faster and better. I came to Powerful Minds for tutoring on the SAT and ACT. I had tried using Khan Academy and other prep books, but all they really did was review the topics that would be covered on the exam, and let's be honest, there's only so much you can cram into your head. This place is a blessing. Being an educator myself i find it very difficult to help my own children because they become nervous with me. My daughter had been struggling in math and needed guidance. I went to this program based on a recommendation and found that they lived up to the expectation. She did so well in her calculus course that i asked for sat prep as well. Brilliant tutoring center! Math was always my daughter's worst subject. Up until now, she was keeping a C average and no matter what my husband and I did.. there was nothing that could improve her grade. Somewhere along the line, a friend told me about her success with a tutoring center. She gave me their business card and I went ahead and got in touch with the owner. I can definitely say now, that I am so glad that I made that decision. They managed to bring her grade in Algebra 2 to an A.
