I played laser tag at PowerOps today, and it was so much fun!! A friend had purchased the tickets on Groupon. I expected that we would be playing in a dark room, with neon lights and would be inside, as most of the places I've played laser tag were set up this way. We were somewhat outside in an area that is shared between paintball and laser tag. There were Urban obstacles set up such as abandoned cars, a school bus buildings, construction zones, etc. Our session was 2hours, but we went a little longer (I think because after our first round we had to swap out so another group could go in). They have a binder a different game codes that you can play. My favorite was the original laser tag game and capture the flag. This is a very fun group activity. The atmosphere is very laid back. Wear athletic apparel or something you can move in that you don't mind getting dirty. Even though we were not outside paint balling, we still left pretty dirty. Note: I would've given it 5 stars, but I think there needs to be more signage by the street. Even though my GPS told me that I'd arrived, I passed by it because to me it just looked like a chop shop. The place looks pretty sketch (so much that I sent family the address in case it wasn't legit and something happened to me), but once I realized there was paint balling at the location, I understood. I'm a relatively new airsofter, but with a background in competitive paintball. Power Ops is a great place to break into the sport, or for more seasoned players to get their CQB fix. Currently, they have 3 dedicated airsoft fields, two large and one small. My personal favorite Fallujah (large) replicated an urban combat scenario, with many different barriers, obstacles, and buildings to provide cover and fire lanes. Smoke grenades come in handy on this field when trying to move up a squad to a forward objective. There are a wide variety of game types that can be played on this field to keep it fresh and enjoyable through many games. Apocalypse (large) is another type of field entirely separate from Fallujah. This field is a more grassy/partially wooded field with less man made obstacles and more natural setting. Here you have a very different, albeit still very enjoyable, experience with a variety of game types available to play. Just remember your head probably doesn't blend in with the tall grass as you peek over a berm. The last, but certainly not the least, field is Nuke Town (Small). This field is extremely close quarters and will challenge you and your team to stay organized throughout constant engagement. I highly recommend bringinging a gas blowback pistol with you here as the sidearm helps greatly when slicing a close corner. The map itself is supposed to replicate the always memorable Nuke Town map from the COD franchise, and it lives up to the name. There is even a schoolbus in the middle. If you want to have a really fast, close, intense game this is your map. Bonus, sometimes they play Infected or Tears of the Sun combining two maps (Fallujah and Apocalypse) at the same time, and it's really fun. Not having been in the airsoft community for long I cannot accurately compare amenities to other fields, but PowerOps does have enough to keep you comfortable for a 5-6 hour day. They do sell some snacks and drinks at the counter along with the usual ammo, smoke grenades, and other last minute accessories you might need. The staging area is usually big enough to accommodate everyone except for one Saturday where it was definitely a packed house. I read another review mentioning security concerns, and while I haven't had any problems myself, I recognize that it could potentially be an issue. With that said, this is Atlanta after all and I wouldn't recommend leaving valuables in your car even in the nicer parts of town. All things said, this is a great place to play Airsoft, burn off a ton of calories, and maybe make a few friends along the way. Make sure your thank your refs for doing what they do (full disclosure I used to ref paintball to get free paint). If you really want to have a great time, invest in some tactical gear, get some extra mags, buy a gas blowback pistol, and stock up on smoke grenades. My 1st time Paintballing, so I don't have anything to compare it to. With that being said, I was extremely happy with the overall experience. I purchased a Groupon a week ahead of time and had to call in afterwards, to put a deposit down during business hours, since I'd made my purchase after hours. (The deposit is for actual paintball rounds and to confirm your reservation - The deposit is also used towards your total costs). With the Groupon at least, the total cost is VERY reasonable. The place seemed to be run by a bunch of "kids", but they knew their stuff and were very helpful overall and extremely thorough in keeping things safe. All of the members of my group being 1st-Timers, we were all heavily anticipating the buzz of that 1st shot and I'm here to let you know - That s--t stings a bit, especially on the less fleshy areas!!! I have over 20 tattoos and have an extremely high threshold for pain, so will you die? "No", but you'll DEFINITELY know when you've been hit! Also, plan on taking home a few new bruises from your experience. I had concerns about how easy it would be to get the paint out of my clothes, but 1 normal wash in the washing machine and my clothes were completely fine. Honestly, the mud from main field, in the center of the complex was more of a hassle. Good times! read more

Great fun for all! We went on Saturday early and the place was filled with a friendly staff and several great players. Everyone from newbies like us to advanced players. A great mix for players from a dirt trench like with war zones, a football field with zones to hide in and a shooting range to get in some practice before you get on the field. Safety is very big here and the staff is good at keeping everyone aware of the rules and safety first. This place is great for everyone! Go have some fun and enjoy the day! We had a great time! Also they have a nice private parking area and plenty of benches to relax when you need to rest. Hope this was helpful! read more

Took the family to play paintball (ages 10,12,23 and 39) since most of us were virgin paintballers we didn't know what exactly to expect. I was a little disappointed at the lack of signage at the location only a little sign that has the address number, no sign at the entrance that says at least 'paintball here' ...thank goodness for Siri telling me I arrived at the location! But the gated free and relatively safe parking more than made up for the sign issue. We checked in, listened to the safety brief, picked up our equipment-which was loaded and ready by the time we went through the safety stuff. My only gripe is that it was not clear direction on what to do next. We weren't sure if we should join a group or play alone, or what the 'rules' were for the minimum to play on the fields. They have 5 fields all of which were pretty awesome to play on. Two covered fields, and 3 outdoor fields. All the staff was super helpful and friendly willing to help out without attitude. Even though it was only 4 in our group we still felt as if we received the VIP treatment. We were able to play on each of the fields alone or join a group. For the people that are looking for a good time, organization, management and enjoy an afternoon of paintball this place is for sure NOT the place. The moment we walked in, the lady at the Cashiers could not even welcome nor explain the procedures or prices, because she had her mouth all stuffed with pretzels. The staff was snacking between instructions and too exhausted to walk at an active peace to explain the rules or games. They were walking like wearing 10lbs of weight on each foot. The place was very filthy and unattended. To refill the gas tanks it was a burden for the staff members, asking each other who was going to handle it; they were exhausted of doing they're job, I missed my game because of their attitude and disinterest in assisting. The spacing between games was ridiculously long. We waited to play more than actual time playing. The staff member had no clue of organizing games or teams based on the number of participants. Anyhow; please consider these comments and if you still want to experience it yourself; by all means and risk; though just not be disappointed. You were advised. read more

I come here most Sundays to practice with tournament players, and have had several groups of friends come to play the rec fields. Easily one of the best fields in Georgia. Two well setup and maintained tournament fields and two rec fields of the same quality. The staff is very good about making sure everyone stays safe on and off the field and are very friendly folks. If an employee yells at you to put a mask or barrel bag on, they're not trying to be jerks, they're trying to make sure you don't accidentally get your eye shot out/shoot someone else's eye out. I arranged with the employees at Dosser Works for a holiday staff party. It took a couple of weeks and several emails to get a phone call but I spoke on the phone to an employee on December 11 and I paid a $50 deposit to guarantee us a spot on December 30 - Dosser Works is not usually open on Monday and recommends a reservation during the week. A group of us - 12 in all - showed up on Monday at 1:30 (when we were supposed to be there) and waited an hour for someone to come let us in to play and no one ever showed. I've emailed a couple of times and left multiple messages. No one here ever answers the phone or returns calls. It has been really frustrating to not receive any sort of explanation or apology for why they weren't open even though I had made a reservation and paid an deposit. We were all disappointed that we weren't able to play paintball. I will have to do a chargeback on my card to get the deposit money back and definitely won't even attempt to do business with these guys any more. read more

Took my dad and cousins to play paintball for father's day. It was out first time. We were very happy to find parking right outside which was very convenient. It was our first time playing, so we were a little intimidated, but our ref, Jules, did a really good job getting us acquainted with the rules and paintball guns. She was very friendly, polite, and personable, and this really set us at ease so we could have a good time. At the end, we were tired from running around, but we had a really fun time together. We were very pleased with our experience and are very likely to do it again. read more

So much fun! I went with a crew from our office on an unofficial office outing - I accepted the fact in advance with grace that I would hate it but I was "taking one for the team" - everyone except myself was in their 20s & 30s and I thought, oh here's a chance to shoot the "boss", which I'm not except for symbolically. I thought I would be knocked out immediately & be clueless and pitiful. Not so my friend - I was not bad at it and I LOVED the experience. I am definitely going back. Because I work out & have strong core & thighs, I could penguin walk and stay pretty well hidden. I have more to learn about strategy (especially not calling myself out when the paint ball bounced off & didn't break) but it was exciting and hilarious. The group had a wonderful time. Dosser has about 4 different playing fields - you can play with your own group if you have enough people or with other groups - or both. Safety is the priority with the Dosser staff - making sure no one entered a playing field without their face mask in place & no one came out of the playing field without securing the barrel of the paint gun. There are picnic tables (but minimal snacks sold there) and I brought sandwiches, drinks & snacks for the group. I played for about 3 hours and I could have done more. It was fun & a good little workout. I left muddy & paint spattered but had a blast - now we're looking at doing a full company outing there - it is GREAT team building & fun rather than annoying as most "company team building" can be. I thought the history of paint splatters everywhere was just part of the ambiance of the place - come on, it's not Chucky Cheese & I didn't notice any particular odor. I am the ultimate girly chick but at this place I pushed all that aside and got down and dirty with the boys. I was kinda intimidated when I initially arrived with my date and his group of guy friends because I was the ONLY female in the entire! place suited up and ready to play a game of paintball. But anyways we were given safety instructions, tested out our guns on the shooting range and then played two wicked elimination games with another group of JUST GUYS! lol but they weren't that hard on me except I got this killer shot to the helmet and fingers but I came out of that area begging for round three! Will definitely be back again and maybe next time i'll bring my girls to come back me up! read more

To those folks trying to call to reserve a time, be patient. I almost gave up because no one seemed to be there during their posted phone hours, and I hadn't heard back despite sending an email (or three). Yes, it was during the off-season but I was trying to book a birthday party! Have faith. They will return your call in a few days, and you won't regret booking time at DWPB. I booked paintball for 12 people on a Friday night in February for my daughter's birthday party. Two adults and ten 14-year-olds. The night I planned turned out to be freezing, and snowflakes were falling as we pulled in to the lot. We were greeted by the two male attendants, Mark and Taylor. They were awesome. Only two of us (one adult, one male party guest) had ever done paintball before, yet Mark & Taylor were super patient and explained everything well. They had already prepared the equipment so we hardly had any wait to get started. There was an area to practice before the actual games began, which was nice. The guns were fine, the face masks were adequate, and women were provided with padded vests. There are bathrooms on site. There are two covered "fields" for paintball. The adult who had been to two other paintball facilities in Metro Atlanta said the fields were much better and more interesting at DosserWorks. He looks forward to returning with his friends. All the kids had a blast. Once again, I would like to mention that Mark and Taylor were excellent. They were patient, attentive, and courteous to a big group of newbies. I would definitely go back but I would enjoy it more without frozen paintballs, so it will be springtime before I do! Five stars for the two awesome guys, the facility and equipment, and the overall experience, but minus 1 for the stress of calling/emailing for nearly a week before a reply. read more

Can you say FUN!!! Best 4th of July ever. The staff was friendly and very helpful, as we were first timers. They have hotdog, chips, and drinks for sale. The price is way too high for what they are serving tho. We had a cooler full of snacks. I definitely recommend bringing your own food and drinks. The price to play was fair. We paid $35 for the gear and 500 paint balls. That was a daily special. I am unsure of the full price. We left with a half of bag of paintball after 4 games. I've been to Dosser Works Paintball quite a few times and it is awesome. This is the only place I'll go to in Atlanta to play and the field is super convenient right next to Turner Field. They offer really good group rates. I've had a friend's birthday here and took some of my gym friends. Just call in advance and let them know how many you think will be in your group and they will set up a rate/date for you.They offer chest pads and new equipment to players. They also grill out on the weekends if you get hungry for some lunch. I love the atmosphere here-it's fun and the staff is very friendly and helpful. And during the winter time they set up a fire pit. They have 2 covered fields so you can play rain or shine. My favorite field is the war zone field. They offer tons of game scenarios. So if you want to get your adrenaline fix I definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

This place could be great but they lack organization and customer service. I made a reservation for a large group to ensure that we'd be accommodated- we weren't. We had to wait over an hour before they had guns for us all. One of the workers made a comment out loud to everyone and when I asked her to repeat herself she gave me an annoyed look and walked away. Besides that though we had a fine time, mostly because I was with a fun group. Whenever we decide to paintball again, we'll definitely choose another location. read more

Power Ops is a great field! The refs are very friendly and it typically is a group of about 50 people there on a regular Saturday. The players are very nice and welcoming to newer people and there is typically very very little cheating or problems (and if there are problems they are taken care of very well by the amazing staff.) I always have a great time when I go and feel very safe because they do a good job making sure that everyone is abiding by safety guidelines and their airsoft guns are within the limits. read more

They don't take safety serious at all. Kept seeing kids take their masks off on the field. Very unorganized and unsanitary. Kids were shooting paintballs out of the arena at peoples trucks and hitting them. The refs didn't do anything about it. Even when they were shooting at me through holes in the mesh walls the refs did not care. Will not go back. The airsoft field itself was nice. It's a shame the workers there aren't good and people who go there cheat and don't play right. read more

This is a really stinky place with bad service. The protective gear that they give you is so dirty that you just don't wanna put it on. Service is highly inconsistent and they are trying to up charge for many old smelly safety equipment that should be free and at least somewhat hygienic. Not going to this place again! read more

Customer service is basically non-existent; called like 7 times (no one ever answered), emailed several times, and contacted them through their email to make a reservation and NEVER received a call/email back. When we arrived, I was asked if I had a reservation to which I told them all the ways and times I tried to contact them and was given a "scratch you head moment" and was told that some guy was supposed to be answering the phones and responding to emails - never received an apology or explanation, just a "whatever". Captains or people over the fields were very unenthusiastic and took their sweet time getting stuff together (had to look for them half the time to say, "hey, we're waiting!"). For first timers it was confusing as hell, because the "workers" (so not what they were doing!) would LAZILY ask us what we wanted to play and people were just looking like "uh, can you help us out???". During orientation, we were told by some child-like (LIL' Zane was that you??) adult (looked 15 with a few muscles) that if we did something - forget what rule it was- that he would have to jump on/attack us and will be escorted off the field, LOL. And that he already had to attack someone earlier. NOT IMPRESSED. Totally get the seriousness of safety, but telling first time visitors that you will SUPPOSEDLY be "physically attacked" by staff is beyond unprofessional as well as very non-threatening to say the least - the MEN with us were NOT amused or threatened by his antics - find another way to communicate safety to your guests, that may work with kids, but not grown adults! My gun kept jamming, so I missed out on quite a bit of the action - the first time I took my gun to the counter, the girl kept looking at the gun and asking someone to look at it...there were like 30 guns on the counter, but she thought it would be better if she waisted my time and kept me waiting at the counter, missing out on my games. I had to tell her THREE times, to just give me another a gun and she could figure out the malfunction on her own time. Food and food area looked VERY suspect to say the least (Translation: GROSS!) and the grand-MA with attitude, serving food didn't make it any better. Fields were fun and a good size; loved Apocalypse! Not sure if I will return, will need to check out other fields before I come back. read more

Terrible service....went on a Sunday with a group of 20. Got there at 3:30p didn't start our first round till 5p!!!! This place needs management in the worst way. It appeared to be ran by a bunch of kids. Tried to exchange my gun because it wouldn't load and was told I couldn't. Had to get two other employees to look at my gun to realize it wasn't operating properly before they issued me a different gun...smh. It's $20 on Groupon for gun rental, unlimited air, 200 paintballs, mask and entry. The price will get you out but the service will keep you from ever coming back. read more

I had so much fun at this place OMG!! My friends and I found a groupon for $35 to play. They provide you with your pellets, gun, and helmet; however, if you choose to keep playing you have to continue to purchase pellets (which they also sell by the box of 500). There are three playing fields, one being indoor, and two outside course. The coolest one is the airplane desert looking one towards the back. You can come with how many friends as you'd like, you end up playing in mixed teams anyway. My friends and I were there well over 5 hours, there was no time limit. There's hot dogs, chips, and drinks for sale as well, but just bring your own snacks to save money (you get extremely hungry). I recommend everyone check this place out for some nitty-gritty in the dirt fun! read more

I wanted to take a moment and give a review of my first experience at PowerOps. I first want to note before I begin this review that I have been participating in Airsoft since 1997. I have been a community organizer, retailer, event creator/coordinator, game referee, rule creator......so this is not coming from someone that does not have experience. Parking. We arrived right at noon for the Elite Force Day event. It is slightly confusing on exactly where you can and cannot park. I would suggest a bit more signage to explain. Staging Area. When we went into the building, I will say it is a nice sized space. Plenty of room for players and gear to setup. The sign in booth was easy to find and easy to get paid and ready to play. The only note I would say on the staging area is to have more space for charging batteries, but that is a small request. Chronographing. I will say this felt like an after thought. It took a moment to figure out where the station was and several times the booth was unattended with players just standing around confused. I did feel the colored zip tie notification of fps was an easy solution. Gameplay. There was a very large turnout and I felt the referees did a very good job to setup teams and controlled gameplay well when games were in progress. There were a few players that had problems calling hits, but that is the nature of this sport. It has always been there and will always be there. The point is there were not any major arguments or issues when it came to gameplay. I tip my hat to all of the players and the refs for this. I was really pleased with the gameplay. Field. For not being a space for a very large group that was at this event, the field did not feel too small. There were bunching of players at certain points of the field due to safe spaces, but again that is to be expected with a group of this size. The only critique I would give is when approaching from the wooded side entering the containers, it becomes very difficult to advance. Some reorganization of the items on the field could make the gameplay flow better. Again, I was very pleased with the field. Time. This is where the PowerOps team can do a better job. It took too long to go from game to game. I know that we can give a small pass due to the size of the group. From the conversations that I had with staff and usual players the typical player turnout is significantly smaller. So this can be better, but I understand what the PowerOps team is used to. As an organizer, this is always an issue that can always be improved. Security. This is where the PowerOps team failed to the extreme. Yes, there is a bit of bias in this decision based on my vehicle being broken into during this event, but it goes on from there. The security personnel was less than effective before the vehicles were broken into. There is no cameras at the facility at all. There are too many points of entry into the location. The building itself has too many access points that cannot be secured. As a former retailer and event coordinator, I do not accept the staff throwing their hands up and saying sorry. That is not good enough for our community. If you want to be a premier location, you have to make sure your customers and community is protected. The other huge issue is that there were too many players that had real firearms at the location. I am not against real firearms in any way. I work in the real firearms industry. What I am concerned about as my credentials stated above, we should never mix Real/Airsoft firearms together. There are too many chances for accidents to happen. I understand the time in which we live, my vehicle being broken into is a clear example. The point I want to make is this sport needs to be maintained with a since of order and integrity. When you get loose of order, bad things happen. Final Thoughts. When it comes to gameplay and players, I was more than pleased with what we experienced. I enjoyed the games and the conversations that I had with many players. I also want to say that Team Phoenix was a great group of players. I was very thankful that they actually handed me some money from their team to help pay for the broken window on my vehicle and apologized for what happened. Unfortunately PowerOps were not as generous. I have to be honest that I will not attend another event at this location until the security is improved. The Airsoft community deserves to be safe and secure. After posting this review on their FB page, they replied offering to help offset my costs due to their lack of security. They then offered a free field pass. They have no intentions to resolve their security issues. I have talked to other Airsoft retailers and field owners about this field and its owner. They tell me how he spreads lies and deception to the Airsoft players about his competition to try and build business. Never waste your time or money with this company read more

Parents beware: a friend and I hosted a paintball birthday party for our 11 year olds at Power Ops yesterday. It took forever to check in, but the staff was friendly and everything went well until the last round. As the kids were getting more air, etc., we were the only ones left in the paintball section except for one guy in his 30's. We didn't see the guy enter the arena with the kids, but he went in and started shooting at the kids with high-power balls instead of the smaller balls the kids were using. Six kids got hurt; kids were coming out crying with huge welts on their bodies. The guy shot at one kid in the neck twice even after the kid held up his hands to show he'd been hurt (with a shot to the head). We stopped the game, and the ref said later that the guy had told him he was going to help ref the game. The guy had been very friendly with the ref earlier, so I think the ref just let his guard down and didn't realize this person was out to hurt kids--to his credit, the ref felt bad about it. The manager/owner, though, didn't seem to really care. It took forever to find him, (meanwhile the shooter had left), and when I finally did, all he said was, "sorry you had a bad experience." He did look at a couple of the kids' welts, but he didn't offer the kids ice or take the trouble to find out everyone who'd been hurt--let alone offer us some kind of refund. He did say that they were going to flag the guy and ban him the next time he comes in, but overall he seemed to care more about the fact that he was going to have to have an extra meeting with his staff about this rather than the fact that kids were hurt. This place is NOT safe for kids. read more

However, this was our first time and instructions were not clear at all. After figuring out what line I needed to be in and where we need to be for safety brief. I was ok... until I didn't know where the kids should be in order to start a game. After they started playing, they had a blast. Now that I know how it works, I'll definitely be back. read more

Purchased a Groupon For Dosser Works Paintball. We made a reservation for 1:30 on October 25, 2014. We arrived 15 minutes prior to the reservation. We were told that the venue had been overbooked and that there would be a wait beyond our scheduled reservation. We understood that the venue was oversold and were willing to wait our turn to participate. Waited an hour and half after our reservation before we spoke with a manager who informed us that our group was next on the list. After the manager informed us that we were next we watched as two other groups went before us. I confronted he manager about this and was told that the groups had priority over us because they were a birthday party. We asked them what time the birthday party was scheduled for and they informed us that the birthday party was due to start at 2pm. We informed the manager that our reservation was at 1:30pm. He said he was just trying to accommodate everyone. I explained to him the unfairness of the situation. He became frustrated with us and told us if we did not like it we could leave. We continued to attempt to make our point to no avail and eventually left without playing paintball. read more

I hosted a birthday party (for adults) here and it was a really good time. There is a large lot with free parking, four large fields and the guns and face masks were solid. The only reason I gave this place 3 instead of 4 stars is because it seemed to be manned by kids. The teenagers behind the desk didn't give much direction and seemed to be rather disengaged. They did however do a good job of going through the safety rules to keep everyone safe. All in all, I would go back. Paintball was a blast! read more

I had a horrible experience there. The staff were rude, the place was absolutely dirty and disgusting, and the regulars there are not friendly at all. The worst incident was after I got shot,I had time to put my bright orange muzzle cover on, held the gun up high, and stood up and still got lit up. The whole time I'm yelling "WTF". I have bruises on my forehead, arms, body and legs. Three other people in my party had similar experiences with the regulars there. We're obviously not going back and will stick to the other friendlier paintball places. The only good thing I can say is that it was inexpensive. You get what you pay for. read more

After communicating with Mark, Daniel, and Joe (AND using a Groupon) I had my son's 11th birthday party at Dosser. The location is convenient and I was able to take in my own food. After visiting and calling several locations the covered picnic area won me over. The group of 19 boys had a FABULOUS time. There were a few hiccups; #1- at check-in (regarding honoring the Groupon price. I had 1 Groupon, but needed 2; #2 - regarding refills). A few of Dosser's counter personnel DESPERATELY need people skills training particularly training on communicating with children. Additionally, it is important that one young man be admonished for smoking behind the counter in the presence of customers and especially in front of children. This same young man should remember he is dealing with paying customers and he is not at home talking to his family members -asking "what you want". Another employee should know to tell children to put on their masks when in the target area instead of YELLING at them to "Get out of there!" On a positive note, Mark is the ULTIMATE manager, communicator, customer service - let's make this right person. Mark made all the wrongs right. He is a gem and we will be recommending to others and returning to Dosser because of the service we received from Mark. Thanks Mark for consistently being positive and for making sure everything was right. My son said this was the Best Birthday ever. My adult son said he had fun too. All are happy.
