I'm a relatively new airsofter, but with a background in competitive paintball. Power Ops is a great place to break into the sport, or for more seasoned players to get their CQB fix. Currently, they have 3 dedicated airsoft fields, two large and one small. My personal favorite Fallujah (large) replicated an urban combat scenario, with many different barriers, obstacles, and buildings to provide cover and fire lanes. Smoke grenades come in handy on this field when trying to move up a squad to a forward objective. There are a wide variety of game types that can be played on this field to keep it fresh and enjoyable through many games. Apocalypse (large) is another type of field entirely separate from Fallujah. This field is a more grassy/partially wooded field with less man made obstacles and more natural setting. Here you have a very different, albeit still very enjoyable, experience with a variety of game types available to play. Just remember your head probably doesn't blend in with the tall grass as you peek over a berm. The last, but certainly not the least, field is Nuke Town (Small). This field is extremely close quarters and will challenge you and your team to stay organized throughout constant engagement. I highly recommend bringinging a gas blowback pistol with you here as the sidearm helps greatly when slicing a close corner. The map itself is supposed to replicate the always memorable Nuke Town map from the COD franchise, and it lives up to the name. There is even a schoolbus in the middle. If you want to have a really fast, close, intense game this is your map. Bonus, sometimes they play Infected or Tears of the Sun combining two maps (Fallujah and Apocalypse) at the same time, and it's really fun. Not having been in the airsoft community for long I cannot accurately compare amenities to other fields, but PowerOps does have enough to keep you comfortable for a 5-6 hour day. They do sell some snacks and drinks at the counter along with the usual ammo, smoke grenades, and other last minute accessories you might need. The staging area is usually big enough to accommodate everyone except for one Saturday where it was definitely a packed house. I read another review mentioning security concerns, and while I haven't had any problems myself, I recognize that it could potentially be an issue. With that said, this is Atlanta after all and I wouldn't recommend leaving valuables in your car even in the nicer parts of town. All things said, this is a great place to play Airsoft, burn off a ton of calories, and maybe make a few friends along the way. Make sure your thank your refs for doing what they do (full disclosure I used to ref paintball to get free paint). If you really want to have a great time, invest in some tactical gear, get some extra mags, buy a gas blowback pistol, and stock up on smoke grenades. Enjoy the game, and call your hits like a man.

Ready to have some fun!

Great fun for all! We went on Saturday early and the place was filled with a friendly staff and several great players. Everyone from newbies like us to advanced players. A great mix for players from a dirt trench like with war zones, a football field with zones to hide in and a shooting range to get in some practice before you get on the field. Safety is very big here and the staff is good at keeping everyone aware of the rules and safety first. This place is great for everyone! Go have some fun and enjoy the day! We had a great time! Also they have a nice private parking area and plenty of benches to relax when you need to rest. Hope this was helpful!

Took the family to play paintball (ages 10,12,23 and 39) since most of us were virgin paintballers we didn't know what exactly to expect. I was a little disappointed at the lack of signage at the location only a little sign that has the address number, no sign at the entrance that says at least 'paintball here' ...thank goodness for Siri telling me I arrived at the location! But the gated free and relatively safe parking more than made up for the sign issue. We checked in, listened to the safety brief, picked up our equipment-which was loaded and ready by the time we went through the safety stuff. My only gripe is that it was not clear direction on what to do next. We weren't sure if we should join a group or play alone, or what the 'rules' were for the minimum to play on the fields. They have 5 fields all of which were pretty awesome to play on. Two covered fields, and 3 outdoor fields. All the staff was super helpful and friendly willing to help out without attitude. Even though it was only 4 in our group we still felt as if we received the VIP treatment. We were able to play on each of the fields alone or join a group. We are looking forward to going back!

Birthday paintball in the frigid cold! Still awesome!

Elite Ops Airsoft

Alright, get set. After a 2-year hiatus (due to low-life landlords kicking them out), Elite Ops…read moreAirsoft (EOA) is back and bigger. EOA has purchased their own land and built their own indoor field. Mostly the same bunkers and setup but over 4,000-sf larger. A few of us were invited to their "soft open" recently and got to experience the place. Due to more room, there's a lot more space for running which means less CQB style play. But, well lit, much better ventilation (A/C in the front area), cleaner. More bunkers and obstacles will be needed to enclose the place. The refs are experienced and ready. The place is starting with a clean-slate. This also means the speedsofters who've made a reputation for themselves for getting banned from other fields may have a place to stay, only if they don't act like, well, fill-in-the-blanks. There are some on a permanent ban list at the moment so don't get onto it. Anyways, the grand re-opening is coming-up. The field is fun and yes, rentals are available.

I used to play here a few years ago, and I noticed a pattern…read more When the owner was in the facility, there was barely anyone there. There would only be about five or six of us, and we had a great time. Then when the owner left, ALL THE CHEATERS SHOW UP. The refs barely enforce the rules and there were too many people each round. The facility (and field) is extremely small, so god forbid 25-30 people try to get in. If you want to start getting into airsoft, or you already have a huge commitment to airsoft, don't come here.

I have had an ongoing problem with this business that it won't fix, up to now. Below is a summary…read moreof my experience. I spoke with four representatives of Wildfire Paintball; Mark R, before purchasing admission tickets for roughly 40 people, and Abby T., after my purchase in order to get more details about an outing being planned for a large group. The other two individuals were employees on duty at the paintball field to whom I spoke on separate occasions by phone well after the ticket purchase, to nail down cost information to pass on to my group members. The latter two individuals informed me, contrary to Mark and Abby, of Wildfire's insistence that each of my group participants would be required to pay for 500 paintballs at a minimum. I have since informed both Mark R. and Abby T. of this situation but neither of them have responded. Below is what I asked them to address: Mark, C. B. here.  I was arranging an event at Wildfire Paintball for Sunday afternoon, June 29, so I called Wildfire. My first call was perhaps a month ago (mid-May, and no mention of what I describe hereinbelow was made to me at that time). As you know, I got the tickets from you and they provide for admission and safety gear, all except the paintballs and CO2.   Well, an employee at Wildfire Paintball told me today (roughly two weeks ago now,) that the "minimum" paintball package for everyone in my event party would be 500 paintballs per person, costing over  $40.   That's absurd.  Anyone who wants to pay for 500 paintballs is welcome to do so but there are lesser paintball packages available for purchase ON THE WEBSITE!!! There is nothing, on the website or disclosed during our communications, that establishes a 500 paintball minimum purchase. You (Mark) and I had talked about total costs (as that was a big concern for me to convey to my group membership) and you pointed out that there were paintball purchase packages on the website.  I looked at the website during our call before I even agreed to buy the tickets and you were absolutely right about varying costs and paintball package availability. This business is apparently disgruntled because it can't sell us admission and safety gear all over again (which I have already paid $300 for, mind you) so it's trying to make up for lost revenue by redefining the meaning of the word "minimum", while ignoring its own website advertisement that clearly lays out the cost of the various available paintball packages, in order to increase the number of paintballs we have to buy to 500 "minimum", at a cost of over $40 per person plus the cost of the CO2 propellant. I will not accept this thinly veiled bait and switch tactic under any circumstances.   If I ever use these tickets, my group will buy whatever number of paintballs each individual desires, in increments of 100, as per Wildfire's representations on its website, and as contemplated by everyone who was involved in this transaction, including you, Mark. If the people running the show over there ever figure out that they might rather make SOME money than NO money, this could turn out to be a win-win for us all. Think about this. I contemplate a three hour window on a Sunday afternoon for a group that ranges in age from 8 to 70+. I need an executive manager who will make a better decision than gouging 8 to 70 year olds, both men and women, who would have difficulty running around and shooting 500 paintballs, in three hours, if you pointed the paintball gun and pulled the trigger for them. There are good reasons for such a wide range of price points for paintballs on your site. Isn't one such reason to give your customers a choice? You're trying to make our choice for us; a choice that inures to your benefit. Instead, try complying with the representations you have made through your representatives and on your website. Stop being so greedy! I will continue to update this review until Wildfire Paintball complies with its own website representations. Mail: veterans1@bellsouth.net
