I have been using them for years to service our residential generator (Generac). Yes, it isn't inexpensive, but the techs are great. Since I live in Santa Fe, if I make a yearly appointment a good month before I'm due, they arrange service when another customer up here needs work, so it is less expensive for travel. I brought my RV in to get my generator fixed. They charged me $450 and didn't fix it and wouldn't honor the warranty that they offered when I picked it up. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 as they had initially planned to charge me $900 for not fixing it. read more

Reserved a machine for 7:30, when they open and upon arrival (after driving from Belen, almost an hour) I'm told there is machine... This throws off me and my employees schedule for the rest of week. We had a backyard wedding and rented our chairs and tables and the dance floors here. Every person we dealt with was courteous and friendly. Everything was delivered in time and picked up without a problem. We rented 2 canopies but unfortunately the wind was too strong to put them up. But everything else worked out great! Leave your blood sample, driving history, and high school transcripts at home. This is going to be easy. Extremely friendly service when I was picking up and dropping off. Pickup took 5 minutes and drop off took 90 seconds. Great now I can get back to yard work... Here are some more details. For $32 I rented a powered aerator for a two hours. $32 is half of what I was going to have to pay at Home Depot. Neighbor wondered over and begged you to let him do his yard too? Its $8 an hour if you need it longer. I asked if I needed to top off the gas tank and hose it off when I was done. Their response, "No, we take care of that." No wonder they have been around for 40 years. No doubt I will be back. Like the name says, they rent all kinds of stuff. read more

The New Ownership makes a huge difference! I expressed my concern about dull bits and Jeanine inspected the jack hammer and bits and gave me the best. Highland offers shorter rental times if you only need a tool for a couple hours and it is much faster to get in and out than the larger rental companies or box stores. Absolutely horrible service! The delivery drivers ran over our light fixtures. They got our order wrong. And the tables we rented were from the 60's. All of my family members who helped set up the tables got splinters up and down their arms. I called to voice my concerns to the owner, and all he could say was sorry. They partially reimbursed us for our light fixtures, but didn't reimburse us for their terrible splintered tables. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN! NOR REFER THEM. read more

I finally found an equipment rental place that's open on the weekends! I rented a bobcat for 24hrs. It was one of those small ones that can fit into a backyard gate. It was in excellent condition and worked perfect for what I needed it for. The rental process was very easy as I was in and out within minutes and the pricing was very reasonable. My husband and I decided to host a party totally spontaneously, just 1 week to prep for (we never plan ahead...) We rented tables, chairs and forks and they were so nice! Jose delivered them promptly and on time. People at the Highland were very accommodating for delivery and pick up schedule. Before you buy tools or whatever (especially things that you only need once or twice in your life), go check the store out, it is so much fun to see everything in the store, they rent everything! Unfortunately I will never rent equipment from Highland again. Faulty equipment and terrible customer service. I rented a skid steer (a Bobcat) for a one-day rental. Was told it would be available to pick up at 9am when they opened - it was not ready at that time, wasn't ready until an hour later. More importantly, I used it for only a couple hours before the battery died. They sent someone out to replace the battery, after which it worked again, but the it was out of commission for two hours, time I could not get the work done that I had been planning on because of their faulty machine. When I called to ask about an extension on the rental time since I lost two hours of work because of their machine not working, I was told an extension of time was out of the question. I understand that sometimes machines are scheduled to go out again immediately upon return, so I asked for a partial refund since I was not going to be able to get the full use of the machine that I planned on. Jeanette was incredibly rude, talked over me, and told me a refund was out of the question and there were no options for me. I am genuinely shocked at how rude she was and how poor her customer interaction was. So I was SOL, when I did nothing wrong and it was their machine that wasn't working. To top it off, the next morning, when I hoped to squeeze in some use before the rental period was up and it had to be returned, the Bobcat wouldn't start. It just got a new battery, so it wasn't that. Made sure it had fuel, gave it plenty of time to warm up - nothing. Wouldn't start. Highland rented me faulty equipment and refused to do anything to rectify the situation, and they were rude as hell about it to top it off. It's really disappointing and I will never rent from them again. read more

Their name says it all...we rented china dishes for a wedding, but if you need a log splitter or wood chipper you can get that too. Half the store is a little industrial and smells like grease, but given that they rent yard equipment you have to expect that. The other half of the store has a nice display of party supplies like chairs, arbors, dishes, drink dispensers. The people were very nice and super easy to work with. I came to pick up my dishes and realized I didn't have enough space in my car with all the wedding decorations. They offered to let me come back the next day to get them. I also changed my mind at the last minute about which dishes I wanted and they were flexible about the changes. They also let me have an extra day to return them without an extra charge.
