Literally googled walk in shower install in Sheboygan and their name came up as "serving Sheboygan"...left ALL info including address and zip. They called me back...answered all the questions only to be told "sorry we dont serve that area"...???? Why waste all of our time? They clearly googled the home because they told me what color siding was on the house. Dont use these scammers!! read more

This company does not due the work. They farm it out to other companies. Tell the consumer you don't do the work. You find someone that does. Get find a phone number to call and cancel my appt with them. Sounds a little fishy read more

SCAM! This is not a real company, just a front for Angi's list. You will get an unknown company that is so bad and desperate that they have to get referrals from Angi's List, and pay the 30% referral fee. AVOID! read more

very dishonest company . We were flat out lied to after confirming multiple times that we wanted a qoute Inlcluding the sealer !!! confirmed it again with the guy in person at the site before paying him and he gave his word to us both that he including sealing as we requested and he will do that portion of the job this spring due to the job being done so late in gall last August..so we paid him in full trusting him . Spring is here and now he lied and refusing to do the sealer as it was agreed upon when we handed him over the money. We would never recommend this conpany to anyone. They do not keep their word , very dishonest . get every little thing in writing and record conversations with them if you choose to still use them . read more

Thought I was getting a local person for a quote and turned into a two hours high pressure salesperson for Leaf Guard. Not local at all. Do not recommend. read more

This company is very misleading. Their ads show up when I do searches for local contractors. Website looks professional and they have listed the areas that they service. Once you fill out the form to get a quote, they tell you they cannot fulfill your request, but they're in reach with contractors I can. After that, I started getting phone calls for the next several hours from nationwide companies whom Powell and sons sold my information too. I would just stay away from this company and keep on scrolling. There's a reason they don't have a phone number on their website. Very fraudulent and misleading. read more

Online offers a quote with a call, lady was rude and insisted on setting an appointment. They want to get in your home and pressure sell you into buying from them. I'm not an idiot and dont waste anyone's times for high priced work. The refusal of the lady to work with me is so obnoxious. She even said she nows what sales they have but doesn't know the price. The company either didn't educate for enough or she was refusing to be helpful, either way stay away from this company. Maybe they can try again when they learn customer service. read more

Fuc* this fake company and all those like them. When searching for a local bathroom remodeling company, their website came up and had good reviews listed on it. Submit my name, address, and phone so I can have someone FROM THAT COMPANY call me for an estimate, only to then receive calls from a jillion other companies who I never contacted. Apparently, Powell and Sons DOES NOT EXIST and is just a scam to give your info to a bunch of companies you never intended to give your info to. So now, I'm fielding calls from people I never wanted to talk to. I hate this company. I hate this system. Do not contact them or you will absolutely regret it. read more

Well, I'm going to start counting how many emails & calls I get. I should have read the yelp review by D.C. first. Powell & Sons are constructors of a pile of money in their bank account from fools that pay them money for marketing/getting leads. They're like those companies who never listed or sold a house in their lives......getting on the internet & hooking in the names of people/phone numbers/email addresses and selling those names to real estate agents or companies. read more

Powell & Sons Construction - a sad emoticion - General Contractors Near Me - Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee

This is a front for lead referral for LeafFitter. I got a call immediately. This is NOT a real company.

As others have shared, this is not a legitimate business. I typed that we needed a gutter added to the back of the house. Within seconds, I'm getting a call from Leaf Filter, which left me confused because that's not the form I filled out. Super weird phone call, but the most irritating thing was getting asked if there was a joint co-owner on the property, if my husband was on board, and if we were going to install it on our house... like no I'm just giving gutters away for free. Had a guy come out today who spent the whole time yapping in a very condescending way, saying how what I needed really was nothing of value nor really made them any profit as a business and that they wouldn't bother coming back. He had clearly never read my request. Also kept got asked if my husband was on board with this project, so odd. Ultimately they quoted me like $1,100 for a gutter and could do a best price of $390 if I said yes on the spot. No. I said it'd be rude to cancel the other contractors I had and this guy went on a soapbox as to why they would be relived not to come to my house. Should have just closed the garage door on him, to be honest. Pretty gross, sleazy, and predatory sales tactic. And if you're telling me that my money isn't good enough for you, why would I be stupid enough to hand it over? read more

Powell & Sons Construction - a smiley face with a fist - General Contractors Near Me - Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee

This noted company, "Powell & Sons Construction" used the phone number of the company I work for to list the company info. Our company name is similar but not this exact name and not associated with it at all. We received numerous calls for "Powell & Sons", at our office due to this. It was a nightmare! Whoever is putting this stuff out on the internet, it should have to be verified correct first, before it goes live! read more

My experience was similar to others here, but we live in New Hampshire and my call came from Capital Construction. The first red flag was when I got a call from a rep of the company literally 30 seconds after I filled out a quote request form on the Powell and Sons website. I asked the caller why he was calling when I had not contacted Capital Construction and he gave some bullshit runaround thing about "Oh yeah, well those things get out and you'll probably be hearing from a bunch of other people." Despite this red flag, I continued with the call. At one point, the person asked if there were other owners of the house and that Capital Construction needed them present at the time of the visit. (Same as another female reviewer - which makes me wonder if it's a misogynist thing or a tactic to get all owners to sign the contract at that moment.) I stated that this was an odd request that I had never received from any other vendor. He, again, gave me a bullshit response of "Well, that's required by the Better Business Bureau, blah, blah, blah." Again, I ignored the red flag. They were keen to schedule immediately, so I ended up making it for 5:00 p.m. after a long day of work. The young man who showed up was honestly very polite and seemed like a nice guy. Unfortunately, he'd been trained to conduct an extremely insulting and aggravating sales pitch session: asking questions for which the answers are obvious to lead me in a specific direction; spending 20 minutes telling me about all of the history of the company and the high-profile jobs they've completed; complimenting me on everything he could possibly think of and generally avoiding actually just assessing the job and giving me a quote. When he did give the quote, it was obvious that his company had trained him to give a high number and then offer the euphemistic "efficiency" quote, meaning sign on the dotted line right now. No way I would ever do that. Again, totally insulting. He wasted 90 minutes of my life. My brother and husband, both co-owners, didn't even bother to sit around for most of it and were also extremely aggravated by the whole performance. I was solicited again by the company to ask why I "would NOT move forward with them" and I sent them this exact same review. read more

I attempted to have this company replace two broken windows in my painstakingly restored 1910 home. I think Powell and Sons is some sort of information farm. I found them when I googled "Attic Remodel" and their website prompted for a quote. I highly recommend staying away from this "company". read more

Absolutely GARBAGE!!!!! They tried to pressure me to pay $3500 for gutters on a 900 sq ft house. I got a different co.pany who is the leader in our area to bid it. It was $820. I asked for information and an estimate from Powell & Sons - what appeared to be a local contractor. I should have read the very fine print. They have obviously sent this estimate request throughout the internet. Within moments my phone was inundated with calls and texts from many companies. None of them were called "Powell and Sons." I cannot find any way to call them directly and I am sorry I ever tried to contact them! This is nothing but a sham company name that is being paid by other companies to find business. From my experience, any company that is hard up enough to use this service to find clients can't be trusted. read more

Just a lead producing company, with a convincing "local" site. Don't give them your info unless you want it sold to a bunch of contractors (who are probably honest business owners), from whom you'll field a ton of sales calls and emails that you weren't planning on fielding. Why won't you let people use NO stars? I made the mistake (and wasted time) filling out their "Free Estimate" form. All they are is a front for LeafFilter. I wrote a detailed message about how/why I needed my gutter REPLACED and I doubt they even read it. I got a call from LeafFilter immediately. I would ever use them anyway due to the constant ads on tv. I guess they thought a leaky gutter could be fixed with a filter??? If this is "Voted Best" in Santa Cruz I would hate to know who is the worst. I see a LOT of 1 star reviews..A lot like mine! Bait & switch.. How do they get away with "Voted Best"??? Wish I would have read the reviews for this website before actually putting my info in. It is a cover for Angies List. Their website misleads people into thinking they are getting a local, family operated business. In reality, you get sent straight to a spam company that sells off your contact info all over. I needed one cracked window repaired and ended up getting contacted immediately with someone trying to patch me through to MULTIPLE companies that only wanted to do full home window replacements. Now I have sales people calling at ALL HOURS trying to sign me up even after telling them to stop calling. I've also noticed that the first person to contact you wants to put you through with the most expensive companies they can find. I'm confused as to how this has not been stopped yet. This website needs to be shut down. read more

This is a total scam - I THOUGHT I was going to an actual business but it's a marketing site for anyone who does work even remotely related to the work you are looking for. I needed a couple of panes of glass in a couple of windows replaced (not window replacement, mind you), a re-glazing for a third window and a crank replaced for a jalousie window - received quotes from two different companies each for over $2,500.00 !!!! WAT??? So I dug into the interwebs and found a reputable glass repair business who told me that the reglaze was not necessary (how refreshing), and they are doing the work for $600.00. Buyer beware. This is nuts. read more

Wow I wish I had looked here before I contacted this company. I went to their website and filled out there quote form. (I was specific that I was looking to have some siding repaired as our house is not very old). Someone called me very enthusiastic and immediately made an appt and started talking about financing. I stopped him and said "I wasn't looking to have my siding replaced, just fixed in a couple spots." He replied, "oh it's a smail job I apologize and immediately hung up before I could respond or ask a question, very rude! Won't be calling them again for any of my projects. read more

I just got sucked in too. wish I had done some due diligence on this company before giving them our information for a free estimate.
