Great SMOG station operated by very friendly guys. The tech was prompt to take my vehicle in shop and the front desk was very mellow while handling the paperwork. I was out of there in ~10 minutes. They won't try and swindle you with fees either. Keep it simple and come here. read more

I can't say enough about this place! Except why the DMV needs a smog test so often. Amirite? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But hey, you want the best, this IS the best. Hands down!! And for those that are new, they can do everything. Titles, new plates, stickers...you name it. They've got you covered. Staff is super nice as always. And I like that they are military friendly and literally support every little league team...the walls are covered. Which means they give back to the community. Just had my car smogged here, I walked in, and it was done within 10-15 minutes! So quick, I was barely even able to sit down! The cashier was also super sweet! Best smog station in the area. Haven't had to get a smog in a while but one of our cars "got to that age". They are as good as I remember. Pulled a coupon from their website, came on a Saturday and was in and out in about 20 minutes. Good people and good service and would definitely recommend. read more

People aren't kidding when they say it takes 10 minutes, it really does only take 10 minutes on a modern car (unsure how long it takes on older cars). They took me right away, so if there is a wait, of course it'll take a bit longer, but considering how fast they are, I can't imagine having to wait long. Definitely a great place to go if you need a smog. Don't forget to check their website for a coupon! read more

Wow! Best smog experience ever. I haven't had to do smog for a while, but time has come. I was recommended Poway Smog Station for a quick a convenient process. Very friendly front desk personnel. Was told it will take about 30 minutes. Took 10 minutes at most from the time I walked in on Friday afternoon with absolutely no appointment! I am very impressed! This place has very very fast and friendly service. When I pulled in and technician met me outside and pulled my car in quickly. They specialize in smog checks and have multiple bays. Their office staff was very friendly and yelp has a $12 off coupon. The smog check took a total 8 minutes and then I was out with a completed smog check. They send all paperwork electronically to the state. This place is the only place I will go from now on for all smog checks. Wow! Amazing service and done on 8 minutes. Five star plus! read more

I highly recommend Poway Smog Station. I needed a smog check to renew my registration. Walked in, and was out the door in 30 minutes! They did smog check, provided the certificate and renewed my registration (for a $34 fee - which I'm glad to pay vs going to dmv or online & waiting for a new tag). FAST, POLITE, and EFFICIENT...everything your looking for when it comes to having an issue with your car. I had a smog test accomplished here and it took about 10-15 mins including your time at their front desk. I was in and out pretty fast. My test was cleared and sent to the DMV automatically. They have a very friendly staff and they seem to have a good work routine going which explains why they were so quick and efficient with my smog test!! COVID: all employees are wearing mask. they have a used and clean pen set up also chairs are set up for 6 feet distancing. read more

a old lady helped me with my pape work, I signed and guess what she forgot to summited it because DMV doesn't have any information, about my car's smog check. and DMV Kiosk didn't print my stickers plate. and says "your car needs to take to the smog station" I can't believe I came after 4 days and no information about my car's smog check. you guys suck! read more

My other smog joint closed down and my fingers did the Googling (Yes I know my fingers should have first done some Yelping, sorry) and bingo. Poway Smog Station. I called. Friendly Dustin answered. Someone friendly answering the phone? Competent? Really? Driving down Poway Road I was wondering aloud why the hell Poway bike lanes? Nobody rides bikes in Poway. Just like only a small number of people ride bikes anywhere in San Diego. Bike lanes are stupid. Unbelievable idiot politicians and bike lanes. We need more parking, not bike lanes that sit empty 99% of the time. Let's put the damn bike lanes on the ballot and see what happens. Oh sorry. I digress. Please keep reading below. So no offense to the other place where I've been going for years, but Poway Smog Station is a serious upgrade! Extremely friendly people, both customers and employees, quick service and holy hell they even have 5G WiFi. They took my car, treated it like it was their own, did the work. Parked it properly (in the handicapped space, I might add. Those of you who know me remember I have some physical difficulties.) I was in and out in about 15 minutes, well under the 30 minute estimate, an extremely happy guy. They even honored a coupon I found online. Win win. Thank you PSS. I'll be back in two years, the next time the State of California decides to rip me off for owning a car. read more

We've been bringing our cars here for their SMOG checks for years. Between our cars and my parents we are there every year. These are the nicest, most honest and genuine people. They are always super friendly when you walk in and they are super quick. Even when really busy (like today) they get you in and out in a timely manner. They are also very reasonably priced. Highly recommend Poway SMOG and we will continue to return. read more

The "technician" was rude and unhelpful. Wouldn't use again and wouldn't recommend. My old truck failed. That's fine. Just needed advice on what I needed to do to fix it. He couldn't be bothered. Took it elsewhere. They just told me it needed to be driven. After driving 150 miles over two days, it passed just fine without expensive repairs. Poway smog could have given me that advice, but didn't. read more

We all love getting your car registration from the CA DMV every year and sometimes you win, when they require a smog check. I went this morning to Poway smog Station and it was great! I came around 8:30 AM, waited less than 10 minutes and was on my way immediately. I used the coupon on their website too so make sure you use it to save you some money! Plenty of parking, super friendly staff! I went to AAA down the street right after passing the smog test and got my tags immediately as well. read more

Great place that has you in and out quickly!! I dislike doing car maintenance and this experience was quick and painless. I highly recommend. Called ahead of time around 3pm on a Thursday, there was no wait so I brought my car in. As soon as I parked a man quickly walked out to greet me, asked what I was in for, took my keys and got to work. Inside I was greeted by a lady whom I handed my paperwork to. After the smog check was done (10-15 mins), she stated that the paperwork was sent, handed me my copy, I paid and left. Great service! read more

Only Smog place opened on a Sunday which is a plus. Not to hard to find, it's off Poway road after all the car dealerships. It's in between the Mitsubishi and Nissan dealerships. Only 9 parking spots and 1 handicap. They have a waiting area inside. They have snacks for a dollar or so. The cashier is friendly and gives you an estimate on how much time it'll be. You don't need to call ahead to make appointments. There is only one driveway in and it's somewhat low car friendly. There's not a lot of space to angle your car up and down the driveways I would recommend this place to my family and friends. I would go back here again if I need a smog. read more

Took them over an hour to check my vehicle before telling me they needed to replace a hose for the engine; otherwise the car "would not pass" the smog test. The part was going to cost an additional $200 in cost and labor, and delay the test a day. I promptly left and took my car to another star station in Clairemont Mesa. Not only did the car pass, but it took under 30 minutes to test and no need for the hose replacement. I'll never take my vehicle to get serviced here again. Don't let this business rip you off on unnecessary parts and labor, there are far more reputable smog star stations in San Diego.

I was charged 65$ for a 2018 model which seems reasonable for this location (card payment will be 3$ more so make sure you bring cash). I was able to pull up on my banking app to show that I have direct deposit and that my most recent paystub could be seen within the past 30 days. Again, I have never had a problem who's getting a payday advance. The lady was relatively cordial but she was very much by the book and so I gave her a star because I figured that she is just trying to do her job and not get fired. With that said, I would not recommend coming here. I have had the best experiences at * (1) "Advance America" in Poway * (2) Fast Auto Loans" in Escondido * (3)"Payday Money Centers" in Clairemont & Escondido The first two places will loan you $255 for $300 but (3) only lent me $100. I make approx $1600-1800 so keep that in mind. Lastly, I wanted to add that Clairemont has a ton of payday advance places so I would highly recommend using Yelp to check out your different options. BRING: ~ your most recent paystub from last than 30 days ago ~ your current bank balance (you can show on phone) ~ A blank check that has your name on it (Printed) ~ optional: your checking account number, as well as your routing number for your bank account If this is your first time getting a payday advance then I highly recommend that you write down the names of real references but do not write down the real phone number or even your EMPLOYER! Don't even think about writing down your supervisors name or your main office because if you do not pay your loan back in time then they will call anyone they can, and you run the risk of being super humiliated.

This place is TINY, no public restroom, and no place to sit, but don't sweat because you will be in and out of here in a flash. The lady was all business, and she explained that this joint was CASH ONLY and there would be a $25 processing fee on top of the DMV fee. I handed over the cash and she pulled my shiny registration sticker out of the drawer and stapled it to my receipt and paperwork. Three minutes and $25 was well worth avoiding the DMV when you are in a time crunch. The next time I forget to mail in my paperwork on time, I'll be cruising over here.

I always go to the dealer for smog check for I'm worried that if I go to an auto repair shop that does smog check, they will magically find problems in my car and scam me into getting it fixed but smog check fees at the dealers are very expensive. Before this, I did not know places like this exist, independent smog check only locations. Went there without appointment after work and the lady was so nice met me outside while I parked my car and got my information right away. She even gave me the yelp discount right away without even me mentioning it! What amazing is I was in and out within like 15 minutes! All in all this place is excellent! read more

Fortunately, the day I went into Poway Smog Station, the last customer just left and the tech took my car into the garage. I went inside to complete the paper work. After 20 minutes or so, I heard "your car is ready". I was surprised. I sat and did not get a chance to sift through all magazines to find which one to read. That's okay though, I'd rather have the car done rather than wait too long. The tech and service desk person were very friendly and cordial. The cost is "so" reasonable. I needed to get my car smogged and right away. My car has a lowered suspension so it can't be done at any smog station. I took my car to Poway Smog Station and not only do they have an in ground tester, they were able to get me in and out with no wait! So to all you guys with dropped cars this is the place to go. They were fast, courteous, and friendly. I'll bring all of my cars here and HIGHLY recomend them! They also do detailing so I'll be returning to have that done too. read more

I, of course, waited til the last minute to get my car smogged. I saw good reviews for Poway Smog Station on yelp and called to see if they could get me in (it was 4:15pm and they close at 5pm) The receptionist was really nice and told me no problem. They got me in and out in under 30 mins! There were even 2 people who came after me and they stayed late to get their smog checks done for them. You just couldn't ask for better! read more

Great place to go for your car smog! Brought in my 2006 Honda accord for a smog. Pulled in and was greeted fast and friendly by the cashier. I was in and out in ten minutes. They were fast, friendly and honest (which can't be said about every shop in town). Price is one of the cheapest in town. Overall, an awesome place to get a smog! Bring registration renewal paper, hand over keys, register electronically at the counter with your driver license. Hereafter waited 10min, called to counter to pay, done. All within 15min.
