My daughter decided I should step outside my comfort zone and give it a try, so she took me to a class at Pinot's Palette in Kenwood for my birthday. Well, she was right because I had a really good time! Luckily, we went on a Monday, when there was only one other painter there, so the instructor could go at a slower pace. When we arrived, we were greeted and then ordered a drink before the class started. There was just one employee there who was the cashier, bartender, and our painting instructor. She was very patient and helpful when I struggled occasionally. Because I was new to painting, I didn't get to finish all that I hoped, but I did take home a painting that I'm pretty darn proud of!

This is a hot venue so we did have to book in January 2022 for our September 2023 wedding. Cheyenne…read morewas on top of all the details and made me feel secure throughout the planning process about the status of our event. Although there were still a lot of pieces we had to coordinate ourselves, Cheyenne was regularly checking in, staying up to date on our plans, and giving helpful recommendations as we went along. Our only two bumps we hit were with the timeline for our day and the ballroom itself. When booking the event our ceremony was booked for 5pm-6pm and our reception was booked for 7pm-12am. When booking I had asked what would happen with the hour in between and was told it would be a cocktail hour so I thought nothing of it. When we were about a month out from the event Cheyenne reached out to let us know that it was a mistake and asked if we wanted to bump our reception up. Since we had already printed and sent invitation showing the end time as midnight we were not wanting to do this. Thankfully, Cheyenne and the event team were willing to work with us to make it right and extended our reception to be 6pm-12am at no additional cost to us. The other bump was that in the year and a half between booking the venue and our event, renovations were done to The Crystal that we were not notified of. I discovered them when we went for our food tasting and we saw the room for the first time since booking. The room is almost fully mirrored and they had applied an antique glass effect to them that I really disliked. There wasn't anything we could do about this with the event being less than 2 months out and the other reception spaces being booked. This was disappointing, but ultimately on the day of just didn't matter at all. I only wish we had been given a heads up at the time of renovations so that we could have pivoted plans to a space that was more our aesthetic and vibe. Our ceremony was held on The Lawn at Hotel Covington. I can't say for certain, but I think there were at least two other weddings happening at the venue on our date. Initially this made me nervous, but you could hardly tell. Our party wasn't interrupted at all! The Lawn is absolutely stunning and was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony! It was also a fun bonus that my room in the hotel overlooked The Lawn. As I was getting ready throughout the day I could look out and see the florists progress, I could see our guests arrive, and I could watch my husband process down the aisle with his parents. I'll also note that the hotel is pet friendly which was amazing! We had our dog in our wedding and she was able to stay overnight with us. It was super convenient to have her participate in our ceremony, and then to be able to drop her off up in our hotel room before heading over to the reception! Our reception was in The Crystal Ballroom. It was nice to be right on the first floor and the space comfortably held our ~150 guest wedding with room to spare! I only wish the tables had been more spread out and spread further back towards the entrance of the room. They felt very cramped together which seemed unnecessary given all the space that was open at the end of the room. The price tag looks steep at first glance, it ended up being on par with other more venues we looked at once you factored in caterer, bar services, decor rentals, tables/chairs, and linens. I highly recommend for couples looking to have a smoother planning experience with less moving parts from outside vendors.

We had a reservation and arrived but were not greeted or asked about our reservation at the host stand for at least 20 minutes for no apparent reason. We finally got to our booth in which that wasted time on their end counted into our 90-minute session. We ordered a few drinks which were fine. We played some darts which is very fun and they have such a cool system which we all enjoyed. This is the only reason for not giving a 0/10 rating. The servers never came back to check on us again and we pressed the "food/drink service" button many times to no avail. We went to the bar after 20 minutes of waiting to be told that the server would be over shortly. This took another 10 minutes. This happened on BOTH of our occasions of ordering. We then split the checks and left. They "weren't able" to give us receipts either when our bills seemed absurdly high ($400 for 5 people in 1 hour). Later, we found they charged us once more for some other ghost charge we never figured out. We tried to call the next day to again ask for a receipt or itemize the charges for us but they told us they were "too busy" (11am on a Saturday doesn't sound like a busy time either). We called again later with no answer. We left it at that and took our losses. Obviously, we hated our experience. Please do better. I haven't had an experience like this in Cincinnati in my 4 years of living here.

We decided to pop in and check this place out on a Saturday morning, unknowing what we were getting ourselves into. We just needed to get out of the house. On the left side of the shop is a wall FULL of unfinished ceramics starting at $7 and going up. You choose what you'd like to paint (we went with a few different items) and then you get started! The kid wall is full of little animal statues like penguins, peacocks, elephants, bears. For the adults there's mug, ornaments, plates. You can add on smaller pieces for $1 or decorate a cute ceramic letter. There's so many different selections that you could come back 10 times and still find something new to paint. They have everything you need as far as paints, brushes, smocks, sponges, stamps. Go at your own pace, use whatever design your heart desires and they glaze and fire it for you. Keep in mind, this process takes one week so you can't take it home right away. Plan for one week if you're giving as a gift. As for pricing, you purchase your item for whatever is written on it and then for kiddos it's $5 flat fee, adults is $7 flat fee on top of your piece. My kiddo painted 3 things and it was under $20. Our finished pieces are so cute and my kiddo treasures hers in her room. Can't wait to go back! AND we snagged a couple gift cards for Mammaw and Nana! I hope Doodlin never leaves!

I was shocked when the bride told me they let her set everything up on Thursday (no Fri. wedding there that week) - for our venue, we only get to start setting up about 2.5 hours before, on the day of! Food was very good but apparently was catered (not from the venue), I heard. The venue itself was very charming, as others have said on here, and looks like it would be a nice place to play golf - they have a restaurant too, and locker rooms (my fiance said the groomsmen got to get ready/hang out in the locker rooms before the ceremony). Their ceremony was going to be outdoors, overlooking a waterfall/water feature, but unfortunately it rained that AM and they held it indoors instead - the reception room/ballroom is large enough that this was no problem, and I guesstimate that they had about 80-90 guests, including the wedding party. It was rather windy out that day too so I was glad it was indoors. Overall, a very nice spot to hold a wedding.
