I'm always wary about products that are extremely low on price because they might be rubbish quality. I found that with some of the products at Poundbase but not all. They had top brand hair care products like Pantene and Schwarzkopf but their self cleaning products like toothbrushes looked like they would break easily. Pound shops can often be cluttered with all wide range of products. This wasn't the case with pound base. Everything was neatly stacked and was easy to find. If they didn't sell something the staff could point you in the right direction. Every town needs a pound shop like this and Poundbase is the one for Acocks Green.

I try not to judge a book by its cover but this shop didn't look appealing and seemed as if the products sell themselves because nothing else made this shop worth going to. There were a few shelves of branded bathroom cleaning products. Some of the branded kitchen products such as Heinz tinned food were stacked in a square in the middle of the shop. Plus their clothes section consisted of a few very simple t-shirts. I understand that it is a clearance store but they didn't have much to offer. I felt a bit uncomfortable as the man who worked here stared at me suspiciously the whole time I was here and right through until I left the shop and crossed the road. On the other hand it's a good place to pick up some bargains for dried food and cleaning products. On my visit they didn't have much else to offer. I hate to admit it but this is probably the lowest standard of shop I've been to in a few weeks.

The prices are good as well and if you've read any of my other reviews you'll now I like a bargain. The paintings were about ten pounds and small ornaments were on offer for less than £5.00. When I first discovered Exotic Homeware, I was literally amazed at the amount of cultural creativity that they sold, especially considering that the store is not far from where I live; I feel like I should have discovered it sooner. From wooden crafted giraffes to elephants to masks to brightly coloured birds to cages to canvases, the shop sells a great selection of organic and hand created objects, which really do make your home look more interesting and cultured. The price of items isn't bad either; usually when you go to similar shops, they put a high cost on these sorts of unique gifts. But here, you can pick up a medium sized collection of three wooden owls for £5! Bargain! I really wouldn't mind buying every item in this shop to be honest. Bottom line is I probably wouldn't buy anything that was kept outside, from here but I wouldn't mind buying the packaged goods because it's good quality and good value for money.

As a vegan that cooks most meals from fresh, I find it useful that they have such a wide variety of ingredients, rather than pre-pack meals. I try to ignore the meat counter at the back, as it freaks me out, but if you happen to be Muslim, I guess it's handy as it's Halal meat. The main thing about this place is the people that work there. They are so friendly, polite and always willing to help. They also make you feel welcome, which certainly doesn't happen in the Co-Op opposite! You might not be able to find everything you need in there, but for bits and pieces and if you enjoy cooking and Asian cuisine, then this is the place for you. Prices are pretty reasonable too!

There were a few mattresses and television stands but that's about it. Nothing stood out here because it all looked so dull! They did have some good deals like a single mattress for twenty five pounds and three sofas for three hundred and ninety nine pounds. I would only recommend this store if you had to replace something in your house or flat not if you plan on decorating.

For example I saw a table next to some rugs with a headboard with pictures above it. In summary they weren't organised. I found myself weaving my body around their products. This left me thinking "how on earth do they pack up the products?" Luckily there are a few more pros than cons. They had some really nice looking products and something to suit all modern homes. I particularly liked their paintings of cities, countryside and sun sets. The shop's decor gave a nice warm feeling, just like a home has. I went in during the sale and thought their original prices were decent but their discounted prices were even better. A family sized table cost just £20.00. Bargain!

As you many know Hall Green is a large residential area therefore there are a lot of news agents so I think what would make Sai news stand out is having a larger selection of food and drinks and possibly sell stamps. I thought the owners were friendly as they gave a good greeting when I walked in. The prices are cheap, which is great for everyone who wants to save money and especially as I am a student.

You could say they sell a bit everything you need for your home. The shop is filled with all of these products and the prices vary but generally they are good. I didn't really like their selection of carpets as I thought they looked quiet old. They don't do fittings either, which is shame! On the other hand they did have some very nice furniture that can be delivered. I really liked their selection of bathroom furniture because they had some modern styles and old styles that had been re-invented, genius! The staff were friendly and from the way they were talking about the products (that I asked them about) I could tell they have a good knowledge of them. If you're looking for some new furniture or flooring then you might not be disappointed if you come here.
