Always prefer to support Family owned business rather than shopping at a national/regional chain. Quick and efficient turkey pick-up, the staff has it down to a science. Local farm feel resonates in the small shop. The retail products are always delicious! I highly recommend the turkey pot pie even though the size has gotten smaller over the years. I really want to thank the folks at Pounds for making this an awesome Thanksgiving for me and my family. I have been living in Florida for a while and the family had opted to eat out on Holidays in general. But for a variety of personal reasons it was very important that I do one more turkey. I started cooking Thanksgiving dinner in my 20s and am close to 50 birds after this past Thursday. I did a bit of research and settled on Pounds - ordered a 16 pound Turkey and a 9 pound breast early in November. Picked them up on the 19th - wonderful service with very friendly people and was in and out very quickly. Decided to do the turkey breast on Wednesday the 21st. Snuck a turkey sandwich that night - might have been my best turkey sandwich ever!. My daughter came over Thanksgiving morning and helped me do the Turkey. We loaded everything up and headed to my sisters and had an awesome Thanksgiving family dinner. Thanks again Pounds for making a really great product. Smoking a 9 pound stuffed turkey breast in a electric smoker was not what we expected :-( Put chips in every 2 hours & it still didn't have any flavor. Guess it needs injection of flavor. Wasted 50 bucks. Live & learn at a heavy price. read more

This is a great place for turkey, but you may already know that. It also has a great selection of local eggs, frozen beef and chicken, and their own deli meats. On that topic, the turkey deli meat is exceptional; just get it sliced, not shaved as it will fall apart because it is all natural. It also won't stay fresh for a week like your normal deli "meat." It's a small price to pay for the taste! They also have pre-made frozen turkey and beef pot pies. I recommend the turkey and they have individual and family sizes.
