My first thought when entering was wow! The way the shop was decorated with 50s retro artwork and furniture was adorable! The seating area was so fun and welcoming and the assortment and variety of cupcakes was great! The worker was very friendly and efficient. And the cupcakes themselves were absolutely delicious! If I didn't know they were allergen free, I wouldn't have been able to tell. The texture and taste were wonderful! I highly recommend this adorable shop in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg!

Despite some previous reviews about the dryness of the cupcakes and the bland cheesecake, we wanted to give it a go. Welp, those reviews were precise! My daughter could not finish her cupcake (that is the 1st time ever for her!!) she said it was very dry and crumbly, almost a dry biscuit like texture. And even with the 4 different types of cheesecake, it really lacked flavor. Someone reviewed it as eating straight butter, I would say it was more like eating just a block of cream cheese. I mean oreo, strawberry, should have some of those flavors in the actual cheesecake part right? At this point even some vanilla extract would've did some justice, but nope nada. While we were deciding which 4 slices we wanted, we asked if they would have pumpkin cheesecake coming in the near future (hints the Fall season). The lady helping us didn't answer the question but instead stated "well the gingerbread cheesecake would taste like it". Who has ever thought gingerbread and pumpkin would be the same??? Needless to say, we won't be back and (mental note) we should probably trust reviews with specific details more.

Heaven's Gate Catering and Lil Tea's Specialty Desserts are THE BEST!!…read moreWe first met this family at the Long Family Farmers Market in Stafford, VA about 8 years ago. After experiencing their incredible food and desserts multiple times, we were hooked. We have used their catering for holiday meals 5-6 times (maybe more...I've lost count). Started when we had family in town and didn't want to cook. Was so good, we started having them make our Thanksgiving dinner even when family wasn't coming in town! They are that good!! Love their lunches at the market! Asian fried chicken last week was awesome! (I heard jerk chicken and more are coming this season!) Teisha's lemonades are a given every week too! (Jamaican pineapple ginger lemonade is our favorite so far!) Chef Tea's desserts are second to none!! She has made multiple, VERY special (and tasty!) birthday cakes for our kids over the past few years! We rarely leave the farmer's market without several delicious desserts from Chef Tea. She always has something different every week and you can't go wrong not matter what you choose! Hummingbird cake, Nutella-stuffed chocolate chip cookies (and brownies), mini cheesecakes, blondies, toffee brownies.....the list is long and delicious!! Come to the farmers market to meet them and try their incredible food! Like our family....you'll be back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
