I really and truly cannot express my love of this place enough!…read more St. Donats Arts Centre is situated near on the South Wales coastline in the grounds of a medieval castle (complete with jousting field), which is now an International College. Imagine a Hogwarts by the sea, and you're mostly there. They offer a large bar area with outstanding views, a gallery and cinema, and theatrical and musical performances go on in the traditional Tythe Barn. This is also the venue for the critically acclaimed Beyond the Border storytelling festival, which takes place every year. Although this venue is small, the staff are friendly and eager to please, and the regular clientele are an amazing mix of locals. The only downside to the centre is its distance from most major areas. But it is certainly well worth the trip, just make sure you check out their website before going down, as there are not events happening each day, and you certainly don't want to turn up and be disappointed!

Another modern addition to the barn is the completely new and contrasting 'Glass Room' on one side. The publicly-funded centre puts on a high quality arts programme throughout the year in this unique setting, which has wonderful views right across the sea towards Exmoor. The barn itself is widely considered be be one of the most inspired public buildings in Wales. The centre provides a really diverse programme of children's theatre, craft classes, dance sessions, cinema, exhibitions, world music events, jazz in the Glassroom. festivals, choir rehearsals, workshops and live shows. It also hosts the internationally renowned Beyond the Border storytelling festival, and it's the perfect, enchanting venue for this lovely event (with outreach storytelling in venues elsewhere in the area, too). The Box Office and Gallery are open 10am - 4pm on weekdays, plus evenings and weekends when there are performances taking place. Check the website for upcoming events, and keep your fingers crossed that the weather is fine when you visit so you can also enjoy far-reaching views out to sea.

I remember when it first opened; it was very, very exciting. For the first time South Wales has a selection of designer outlet stores, ranging through everything. From Cadbury to M&S, from Revlon to Whittard, and from Cotton Traders to Animal. The choice was endless. Then the excitement soon wore off, when we realised that these were just normal high street stores with things either substandard or just a little bit cheaper. This is a collection of all that is unwanted from the other shops. That being said, you can pick up some really good bargains from this place, especially from Bookends and some of the sports and camping gear shops. This is a good place to come to if you're after functional items, but not really the kind of place which is going to wow you with its selection of wonderful boutiques. There is also a cinema and food court on site, so you can make a day of it (if there's really nothing better to do). This place getting heaving when it's raining outside.

If you are shopping for fashion I would say don't bother. There are the likes of Gap, CK where you can get some decent basics but not really your going out on Saturday night stuff. Gift shopping is pretty good here and I also seem to make a trip up at Christmas time. Its only 20 minutes from Cardiff so worth a trip and there's plenty of parking and open late for hassle free shopping. Its also has a large food court with KFC, Pizza Hut, Jacket Potatoes, Pies, a cafe and more.

I tend to buy basic unprocessed ingredients rather than prepared food so I was pleased to see good quality fish (in clear bags so you can see the contents not just a picture) meat and vegetables. I bought the smoked haddock (2 packs for £5) and they were much better quality than the expensive options from Tesco or Asda and were much nicer than the Lidl ones. Also bought a frozen pizza for our son and was very impressed by the quality it cost £1 and tasted and looked better than expensive ones we've purchased from other supermarkets. Son thought it was better than a Pizza Hut one :) I also bought a pack of 8 seafood sticks for 29p (hadn't had them for years and the price was irresistible) which weren't the nicest I'd ever tasted but once they had lemon juice on were perfectly okay and given the price one can't quibble have spent more before now on similar and had worse. The staff were considerate and polite and welcoming and I think it might have been the manager who noticed us leaving and said goodbye to us! Will be using them again and often. Great quality at pleasingly low prices can't argue with that.

After being a Bridesmaid for one of best friends and having the Brides dress, 4 bridesmaid dresses…read moreand a mother of the brides dress all from Pink Butterfly brides, we were horrified at the service. For our fitting in April the owner Sam wore a necklace with the C**t word on- possibly inappropriate! To be told all dresses will be in within 10 weeks as they were coming from America. After not arriving when expected, myself, the bride and mother of the bride called constantly for an update of the dresses to be told she knows nothing and can be in 3-4 weeks before the wedding they could come in, when this is not what we were originally told. When the dresses finally made it into the country they were held at customs for 21 days without a valid reason according to Sam and the wedding only weeks away. After calling daily to find out what's going on to be told by Sam ' be more patient ' with only a week to go till the wedding. The dresses finally came in 6 days before the wedding. Alterations were needed to be made to most dresses even though they were supposedly made to measure. Some too long - people don't just grow! The dresses were finally picked up 3 days before the wedding and yes they looked beautiful on the wedding day but the service, the worry and stress of not having dresses up until 6 days before the wedding took away from the whole experience completely. The customer service was shocking and when calling up to enquire, no one was rude we just calling looking for information & were greeted with a very snotty Sam who was getting annoyed at us calling yet she was not getting in touch with anyone especially not the bride, hence us calling constantly. The whole experience has been terrible and has really taken away from the wedding. The customer service was terrible and Sam doesn't have a welcoming manner and we all felt she looked down her nose at us with an attitude. Wedding's and the build up are such an important part of the day and Pink Butterfly Brides have taken this away from the bride. Please think wisely before using their services. Hope this is helpful to people A very disappointed Bridesmaid x
