There are loads and loads of shops in the Quadrant like HMV, Game , W H smiths , Clinton cards and Debenhams. It can get pretty packed out with shoppers at peak times and especially with the run up to christmas. At christmas there is usually a lovely christmas tree with lots of decorations which make it look really nice. The shopping centre always looks clean and tidy and you will always find a cleaner pottering around.

Shops you find in every town in Britain. The Quadrant itself is quite pleasant though, it has a predominently glass roof which allows it to be very bright and airy inside. There's a gallery cafe which looks out on to the main concourse of the shopping centre which is great for people watching. The bus station also comes out of one end, so finding it is very easy, and also you won't have far to carry bags to get a bus. Or even to get to your car if you choose to park in the NCP which also adjoins the Quadrant. You can also get to Swansea Market via an entrance in the Quadrant. The largest store by far is Debehams, which is a large department store and takes up almost an entire wing of its own. ANECDOTE: I was sick on the doors of Debehams one Christmas as I was shopping for presents and very rapidly came down with a virus. There are public toilets (free) upstairs which are clean and well maintained. The buidling is decorated according to the seasons, and a large Christmas tree is the focus during the winter.

Me and my mum picked out a few dresses and the sales assistant chose a few based on my preferences and I found the perfect dress. The assistant was very helpful in getting shoes and accessories to help me achieve my vision. The seamstress made all the changes we needed and I felt perfect on my wedding day.

Went to Rowberry's in Port Tennant for my first attempt at buying a wedding dress and it nearly put…read moreme off buying one at all! I don't want a strapless dress and managed to find about two that were in this category, tried them on but decided they weren't for me. While my mother and I then tried to leave the sales lady got quite stroppy and told me I needed to change my ideas or that I would have to sew a jacket onto a dress because nowhere would have what I wanted. Needless to say this is not the case. Also while we were standing there being castigated, the ceiling started dripping on us!

Anyway, Debenhams. I do like it, especially during the final days of their Blue Cross sale, when things go buy one get on free. Because of this, I managed to buy 4 bras for the princely sum of £12 - two of them the fairly pricey Miss Ultimo bras. I was impressed. I could spend ages in Debenhams, and more so now that the Benefit counter has expanded to include an eyebrow bar - now if the one in Leeds could just follow along with that, it'd be much appreciated!

One of the last remaining independent clothing companies left in the uplands. More expensive than…read morethe supermarkets but what you buy is quality and trust . I used to buy all my grandfathers clothes from there and you truly get a one to one customer service you could spend hours talking to the assistants in there. There are accessibility issues with the shop that wheelchair bound persons will find problematic but once inside there is an air of space where you can have a proper look at what you are buying which is a must if you are spending a lot of money on products. Its a real joy top be able to support a local business and this one certainly deserves the support.

It has been widely advertised but I would say anyone interested needs to carefully shop within the offer, depending on your choices you can get save over £10 or as little as £2. If you shop within the offer carefully it ends up as a meal for 4, large chickens have been part of the offer sometimes and ready meals that serve 4 plus they had a great cheese board in the offer last time but by lunchtime on the Saturday no cheese boards were left or restocked on sunday. Unfortunately the most expensive items in the offer do sell out very quickly and sometimes, at least in the Swansea shop, they run out of side orders and desserts making the offer no longer available early on in the day.

Marks and Spencer on Oxford street in Swansea is quite a large store and does have a food store…read moreincorporated. Prices are high and I do find the selection of clothes a little boring and aimed at the older person. The food they sell is lovely but dont expect to be able to do a weeks shop here as they just dont stock enough range. Its worth noting that they dont sell anything other than their own brands. Also remember that if your buying lots of food you have to walk it all back to the car and since this store is in the middle of Swansea then that may be quite a walk. They do do good 3 for 2 offers on xmas pressies so look out for them.

Bon Marche has a rich tradition of producing good quality clothing for the older lady. However the…read morestore lets the product down badly. As a store you could describe it as compact and it makes browsing very difficult and people in wheel chairs and have mobility problems will find it difficult to see everything in the shop with pillars in the way. In this day and age with businesses vying for your money Bon Marche has offers on almost weekly and staff do on occasion hand out 20% off coupons to tempt. The staff themselves are very approachable and really friendly and always serve you promptly. One big criticism is that they always seem to have their central heating on way to high making shopping in the store like a sauna very off putting.
