Situated at the crossroads on the corner of Vicarage Road and Tat Bank Road, Pound Plus is so called because it has stuff that costs a pound in it and some other stuff that doesn't cost a pound.
In my experience, the stuff I've bought from there that doesn't cost a pound (namely a bin) costs more, coming in at a decidedly un poundlike (but very pound plussy) £6.99. It's one of those little empires of things everybody needs to buy now and again whose stock of big plastic boxes, brooms and colourful mop buckets spills out onto the street in a very neat and orderly fashion.
Little bit of a warning, this shop doesn't accept card payments. There's no free cash-machine for the best part of a mile so unless you've got the money, car or legs on you, be prepared to have to use the charging cash machine in the Costcutters a few doors away. read more
