The store is clean, though its a bit over whelming trying to find the section you want. Theres rarely any staff around the store to ask anything about, you can only usually find them behind tills where they are busy serving. They are chatty and helpful, but limited to being behind the till.

Some stuff will be overpriced - especially household cleaning products. Some stuff will be complete and total junk Some of it will look good but completely underperform But amongst that lot there will be some genuine bargains. Their christmas decorations tend to be great for the price. Its worth paying a regular visit there just to see what they've got in stock. Half terms can be a little bit hellish in there, as can christmas. But persevere and don't forget to use your elbows.

Queues can be horrendous almost through out the day, though staff are always chatty and cheerful. You will rarely find a member of staff on the actual shop floor, so your not likely to get much help, but when everythings £1 thats not normally a problem. Poundland is always worth a look in whenever you go shopping nearby, just in case theres one of their fab bargain buys in there.

She arrived at about 13:30, to find they had run out of any hot food, and there was a solitary motley sandwich, and small yogurt pot that might satisfy a 3 year old. I suppose their "get out of gaol free card" is: subject to availability. This sort of thing does more damage to a company's reputation than not offering something for free. I suppose the old maxim still holds true: "There's no such thing as a free lunch." :-)

At it's peak it was a proper department store with concessions selling musical instruments, computers, and all of the other things you would associate. It now carries perfumes and cosmetics, clothing, and a small homeware section. The perfum section competes poorly with the likes of Superdrug and the Perfume Shop, and the homeware section contains such a limited range of goods that the local Tesco eclipses it in usefulness. The restaurant is merely average, with no outstanding features.

Asked to take a set and seem to in the next 5 minutes. The staff that I experienced were both friendly, made appropriate small talk and either seemed to genuinely enjoy there job or at least gave that impression to me if they were hiding there disdain remarkably well. I did not feel rushed, when I asked about extras like thin & light lenses they were honest and frank with me saying on my case it wouldn't make a lot of difference; impressive really as a lot would push to make the extra sale. They have a good choice of frames, it's similar to the competition really. If you want a brand name you pay big money for it. I actually managed to find some unbranded frames that I really like. So I will actually consider purchasing from them now.
