The clerks were friendly, helpful and informative...none of that snooty "can't bother to talk to you" attitude here. I was quickly assisted in getting a library card and the nice man gave me a tour of the facility. As homeschoolers, we utilize the public library system quite a bit. I was so happy to see that this county has an online system that let's you request books from other branches. JOY JOY JOY....the angels were singing in my head. What is such a standard library service in California is hard to find here in Texas. But the Grayson County Library System kicks butt and they get it done! Just never checked them back in. I had to go look on the shelves and show them before they'd take them off my account. Librarians seem irritated when you ask for help, and make sure you know that they're being inconvenienced when you ask them a question. Witnessed an elderly woman trying to check out books at the help desk, and the librarian directed her to the machine. I asked if they had a book request program, and they directed me to an ancient lock box. They said they "would take my request into consideration". Multiple years later and never heard anything. I don't think the box was ever opened. A woman with a child tried to exit and had accidentally skipped checking out a book. The alarms went off and a male librarian chased her out of the building. He acted like he was SWAT. Pretty funny to see him nearly knock his chair over, but felt bad for the woman. The whole vibe is negative and awkward. Glad I have another option with Denison.

What an amazing resource in the heart of town. I'm not sure if folks realize all the various things…read morethey can do and learn about at the library and community center. In the entrance there are pamphlets and guides on filing taxes, while inside the library there are guide books on how to start a small business, file for divorce, and/or create official landlord/tenant legal documents. If you're curious about genealogy there are historical references with family information from Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, etc dating back centuries. There are even old microfiche machines in the back in case your kiddos have never heard of or seen one of them. Currently they aren't in working order but all microfilms have been converted and are available for viewing in a digital format consistent with today's media viewing. There is a kids section with picture books and a young adult section with every dystopian novel or series you can think of. If your kiddos aren't excited for regular books they even have huge collections of graphic novels and anime type books. If you can't sit and read a tangible book for long periods of time or find yourself on the road a lot they have tons of audiobooks and are also a part of a consortium of libraries for e-books/audiobooks. And lastly if reading isn't your cup of tea they have tons of movies to choose from. Movies paired with the books they were made to mirror are available at the front. I was so impressed with all of the materials readily available here - for such a small space it certainly offers much more than meets the eye at first glance. If you need something printed they do that here for $0.10 a page and if you need help with something the folks that work here are super friendly and are able to help with a myriad of things. Lastly they have a cafe and good wifi available to utilize, along with tons of programs to help with literacy, tutoring, community outreach (including free meals), etc. For all those that didn't know before, now you do! The city has done well to provide this resource that more folks need to utilize and appreciate. Mario and her team have done wonders for this space with the resources available.

The only thing l wished they had more toys for kids in the play room, I find that some toys are missing some pieces and not well maintained but otherwise a great place to get your kids to spend some time with books.

In this case it's the Town Hall building for the once tiny town of Prosper. Not long ago this was literally a tiny north Texas Town,exactly like the 1000s dotting the flat prairie of this part of the state. As development moves north at an ever more rapid pace,these tiny communities are being transformed overnight. It is critical with this type growth that responsible citizens are in from the start with rock solid civic planning. Once the infrastructure is planned and built out,it's impossible to retreat and redo. Setting the foundation for what's to come is a make it or break it proposition. On this day,I had taken my High School Junior Grandson to breakfast. Afterward I proposed we get on the Dallas north toll road and see where it ends. It still ends in roughly Prosper where staging is taking place to begin the extension even further north. Unprecedented growth continues to take place. I turned up towards the little town and as we passed the Town Hall building,I proposed we go in and take a look. Little did my grandson know that I'd disguised a civics lesson for him in the form of a city government visit. Ha,he thought he was missing school! Happy Birthday! I went to the charging station, but the chargers were VERY slow to charge. They would not charge above 9%. This was disappointing. I went home to make certain that my phone was working and it worked with other chargers. Printing is 10 cents a page for black and white. The printing machine was very easy to use. The library was clean and organized. It was very hard to move around in a wheelchair . It would be beneficial to have more ADA wheelchair spaces. The renting policies for books and videos are great.

It always seems loud in here so I wouldn't advise trying to get anything done where you need it to be quiet. I like that they have a drive-up book return too -- very convenient. This library does not participate with the Libby app -- not at the time of this writing -- so if you reserve an ebook, you'll need to download the app they do work with. They FINALLY got more parking added here -- it's been so tough to find parking but there's a long new section of spaces now.

I was surprised since the library in Houston all close at 6:00PM. Library is a place where we can being indoor with the AC and a restroom to use if need to. There are plenty of parking space here and there are some steps to go up to the main door and there is a ramp near the handicap parking space. My only complain is there is not enough tree planted area here for some shaded parking space. The first floor is the kids section. and downstairs is the adult section, they have stairs and elevators. There are pretty of chairs and table. There is a puzzle table where anyone can work on the puzzle and that was where we spend our time there. The staff here are very friendly by helping me to pronounce the name of the library was named after properly.

I give them back the books I've read so they can be sold to others. I can't afford the prices of new books, so I wait until they are used and buy them.
