Their chili (like Yacco's) is basically watered down chili and you hardly get any on the dog. The dog itsel is nothing to write home about in any meaningful way! Today I wanted a dog, so I decided to try the two most talked abou places in the Lehigh Valley.Yocco's and Pott's. I will try Willy Joe's soon. The only difference between these two places is that Pott's offers saurkraut as a topping, where Yocco's doesn't. These two places are literally the same. And when compared to a NY or Jersey dog? There wasn't a listing here for this Pott's location since it just opened last month so I created one for it. This is not a sit down location but rather a very small drive up unit just large enough for two employees to operate two drive up windows which are located on the opposite side of one another.. It is located in the parking lot sitting opposite Little Ceasars Pizza and Liberty Bell Beverage on the east side of Chestnut Street. This location offers a large selection of hot dog choices including the ""Everything "" Dog and the ""Heart Attack "" Dog which are the two dogs I had from this location. The Everything Dog has ketchup,mustard, chili and onions and the Heart Attack Dog is the same while adding bacon to the lineup of toppings. As I have come to expect from Pott's these dogs are delicious with high quality meat and a delicious bun. Fast service with a smile handing you delicious hot dogs equals meaty satisfaction. This place has the best hot dogs in the valley for sure! It's not much to look at; it's really just a shed parked in the middle of a beer distributor parking lot...so you can't eat in or anything. But if you want good doggies and good rolls this is the place. Oh and it's cash only so that can be a tad inconvenient especially for those of us who rarely carry cash. Where to start... The fact that the Lehigh Valley "Hot Dog King" was intimidated enough to have to put a billboard right above the little ol' doggie wagon should say a lot. I've noticed a marked decline in the number of cars heading into the Emmaus Yocco's since the Potts Dog Wagon arrived. This Potts location does an absolutely fabulous job. It starts with a nice soft bun. Always fresh! Dogs have a nice snap without being tough. Toppings are a perfect compliment. Their chili sauce is the best around. Spicy but with a sweet touch. Give their specialty dogs a whirl. Always something unusual. This weeks "midsummer dog" had... I kid you not... Creamed corn on it. It sounded just weird enough to try. It was OUTSTANDING! They have burgers and pulled pork, although I am a hotdog fanatic, so can't speak of those items. The owners are very friendly and easy to converse with. I meant to write this last week but got busy. I consider my self a pretty picky hot dog person meaning the only hot dogs I like are wawa's hot dogs. Family and were coming home from Allentown farmers market which is great by the way. Saw the little red barn which sold hot dogs I was skeptical at first ordered the 2 hot dog and perogie meal deal I was very impressed so yummy and the guy I think the owner was super nice his name was Tom great price for lunch or dinner around $5.00 for two hot dogs and 4 pirogies and a soda. The only thing that I was disturbed by was yoccos Billboard which I thought was rather rude of them to put it right there next to the hotdog business. I love hot dogs and have not been a fan of Potts in the past. The coopersburg location serves garbage dogs. I saw a huge billboard for hot dogs, saw the hut and pulled in. After ordering I noticed the billboard was for some other hotdog shop. What kind of jerk buys the billboard above their competition's location? I won't be trying their place, since they fail to jnow what "friendly competition" means. The dogs were plump, hot, and had a perfect snap. They weren't wrinkled or burnt, just right. We LOVE Pott's Hot Dogs. Everyone who works there is always so nice and we are able to get our food quickly and it never disappoints! We also really enjoy it because if we have our Boxer Pup in the back seat, they always give us an extra plain hot dog just for her which we think is so sweet of them. We've never been to any of the other hot dog places because we love pott's for the variety of toppings and the totally fair pricing of their items :) read more
