My only criticism is towards the horrendous checking out process. I was the third person in line to check out and we waited in line for 38 minutes to be checked out. The two customers in front of me had extensive personalizations and several people came in to collect their pottery. The girls in the front were working their hardest to attend to all the needs of the store but with customers who have long personalization checklists and requests, the line was backed up around the door. It would be helpful and efficient if personalizations/pickups could be handled away from the cash register. Maybe when people check in or maybe in a separate checkout line or even in a form at the table!

Then, the same girl kept complaining about her job and when my daughter asked her for some help with getting paint she said "I don't see why she can't get it herself, like, can she reach it?" Then, she kept giving us warnings as to how many minutes we had left to paint before they closed at 7:45* mind you. If that's not enough, we asked for a high chair and she just kept sweeping and ignored us until we went to go get it (which is not a problem for us to get it but we only had a little bit of time to paint so her getting it for us would've been nice) We love painting and this was my Mother's Day gift and the staff here was just not good at all. There is a huge selection of paint your own pottery, canvas painting and glass fusion, plus they have a pottery wheel! It is so hard to find a pottery wheel around Memphis, but they have one here! My kids love the Kids' Corner (a cozy, out-of-the-way pocket for small children to play cars or dolls or even take a nap on the little sofa) and all of the kids' items for painting, plus even my husband will come in with us because they'll put the game on for him.

I took my niece here to do an Intro to Mosaics Class. Kristi was very helpful and taught us how to cut glass and how to grind the edges smooth. This last time, I painted "Pretty N Pink." On my first two visits, the instructor was Christy. On this last visit, my instructor was Monique! I have had SO much fun each time I've gone. They were both engaging, fun and very good artists/instructors. They take the time to make sure you feel good about your painting. They are also always there to help, as well as the other helpers that circle the floor while you paint. It can be a bit overwhelming to come in to a blank canvas and blobs of paint in front of you, especially if you aren't an "artist," but they take you step by step and the outcome is usually beautiful! That's also where the wine comes in handy lol (you can bring/drink wine and have snacks). Plus, you don't have to paint the painting exactly as they have it! You can make it your own by switching up some of the colors if you'd like. I think that's awesome! I never feel like mine are perfect (I'm a little perfectionist and hard on myself sometimes lol), but that's the beauty of it and what makes the paintings unique! I can't wait to go back again and again to see what else I can create! Also, if you STILL don't like your painting once you've finished and gone home, you can take it to one of the free SOS classes and fix it! You can go back as many times as you like, even if you painted the picture years ago. I think that's a great perk and it's so nice of them to offer it!

The employees are kind and facilitate the process, and they do a great job with not making newcomers feel singled out and giving more freedom to advance to those who've done it before.
