Bought a backpack 4.5 months ago. Had to immediately return it because of a broken clip. Now the backpack has a huge hole in it from the thread coming completely undone and they won't replace it. They said it's typical wear and tear. This is in the water bottle holder! And if this is typical their quality has gone way down. read more

I recently had a very disappointing experience at Pottery Barn Kids. Next week is my daughter's first day of school, and I bought her a new backpack here. I also paid for the name engraving service, thinking it would make it extra special for her. Unfortunately, when I came to pick it up, I found that half of her name overlaps with a part of the backpack that is the exact same color. The engraving is barely visible, and it could have been so easily avoided by placing it slightly higher or lower. When I politely mentioned this, the staff member, Beau, was extremely rude. He rolled his eyes repeatedly, was clearly impatient, and just kept saying "this is our standard" without offering any solution. As a customer, I have no way of knowing what their "standard" is, but I do know when I'm being dismissed instead of helped. This was meant to be a happy moment for my daughter, but it turned into a frustrating experience. Poor attention to detail and terrible customer service -- definitely not what I expected from Pottery Barn Kids. read more

This is really about PBK online ordering. I placed a custom order in November 2025 for my granddaughter's xmas present. It was severely damaged by UPS and I placed a replacement order. The product was out of stock until Feb. When I had not received any notice of the order, I called on Feb 11, 2026 and was told that the order had been cancelled. So, another order was placed. On Feb 17th, UPS marked the package delivered, but it was never received. I reached out to PBK to see if they would help since this has been a miserable experience, and I'm receiving ZERO help. I purchased a child's water bottle and the lid cracked in half after two weeks of normal 6 year old girl use. I complained to PBK customer service and they said "was it dropped or banged?" To which I replied it's a children's water bottle! 100% of kids drop or bang them shouldn't quality account for that?! But to my knowledge my child didn't do anything violent to it because she has several other water bottles that are years old and fine. Got a nasty response that it's my fault it's broken and they weren't going to replace it or sell a replacement lid. The worst customer service! This review is not based on customer service but rather the product itself. In 2023 I was pregnant for the first time and decided to splurge on one item specifically, the glider aka rocking chair. I ended up buying it from here as it was quite the wait time until delivery and I liked that their gliders had a slow reclining option and overall, just looked nice/comfortable etc. It checked all the boxes. Placed my order and despite the chair getting sent to the wrong address twice, all was good. Until it wasn't. 6 months into owning the chair after my son was born th3 axel broke rendering the chair incredibly loud, squeaky and essentially useless when rocking an infant. Called and had it replaced without issue! Not only did they fix my problem but they replaced the chair entirely! Great! 6 months into the new chair, same exact issue, same exact thing broke. I'll be honest, we use the chair every single day, for naps, bedtime, books etc. Even now that my son is 2, its a huge staple in our routine. But once again, the chair is entirely useless and im writing a review now because im pretty upset im now out 2k I spent on what was supposed to be a nice luxurious chair that will last us for years to come, only for it to end up needing to go to the dump 2 years in and now I need to purchase a new chair elsewhere. They did not reimburse me with equal products ordered (being out of stock now) and would not refund me. This resulted in disappointed children and parents before Christmas. I'm really disappointed with the level of customer service at this location -- both over the phone and in person. I recently called to ask a simple question: does the OmieBox lunch container (which they sell on their website) fit inside the Classic Lunch Bag (also sold by them). The associate I spoke with, who said her name was "Jean" was incredibly rude and dismissive. She acted like I was asking something outrageous, telling me she had "never heard of an OmieBox before." I reminded her it's listed on their own site, and she still insisted she didn't know and told me to "look at the dimensions online." No effort to find out, no offer to ask anyone else -- just pure indifference. Sadly, this wasn't my first bad experience. Every time I've visited this store in person, the staff picks and chooses who they greet or acknowledge. It's not overt discrimination, but it's very noticeable who they make an effort with -- and who they don't. Needed a rug for my kid's room and had the most pleasant experience working with Katie. She helped me go through every sample they had. I was very particular in that I wanted 100% cotton or wool, soft, thick, and one that wouldn't get dirty easily. Like I said, she went through every sample with me reading the materials. I found a great rug, but then she said they have a floor sample just like that, but in a different color. The floor sample rug was the same but in a navy color that worked even better than the original color I had selected. If she had not shown me that I would never have known it was an option. I walked out of there with the rug in my arms scoring an amazing deal. Katie was so kind and made the entire experience so positive. read more

They lie!!! I ordered something the end of March and it was damaged. It was a gift so I just gave the present to the person. I brought it to the store because customer service is usually incompetent. I said I want a new one this is damaged ( $129 bow!). She does a return on the item and says let's order a new one. NO LADY replace my purchase you just want a sale to try and stay open which is pathetic as they beg and beg you to order in store and ALWAYS mess it up! Fast forward she says ok it's $199 now because of tariffs!!!!!! It's a freaking bow for a wall that went up $70 for a poorly made china piece of junk! They are a scam! I refused I told her you never should have returned this. She tells me - I'll call customer service tomorrow. Doesn't happen. Next day doesn't happen I call them. She then reassures me oh call customer service I told them about you and they will charge you the "pre tariff" price. I call customer service they are clueless to the request. I wait on hold 30 minutes. She tells me I need to place the order but have no fear as soon as the order is placed I will adjust the price. I told her you better not charge my card the full amount she continues to talk her self in circles as she knows she is in a lie!! She kept saying you have a $90 credit. I kept saying no you charged me the same price and she kept going around the answer. I get a charge on my card for $240 for a bow!!! This place should shut down! This Review is for the sales associate Beau. My husband and I are expecting our 1st child, so we decided to go to PB kids at UTC to test out some strollers. Beau completely ruined our entire experience. We asked him questions and he rudely answered them, we asked to see specific items and he sat there and pointed and made us grab the car seats from the wall. I mentioned since I'm a first time mom that I was eyeing the Nuna Demi and he asked if we were going to have more children, I said yes, then he made an Insensitive comment that we shouldn't get that one and get a travel stroller because having another may not happen as fast as we think, I thought it was completely disrespectful to comment on someone's fertility. I then asked if he has a travel stroller to see and it was folded and he just pointed an told me to open it. I told him I didn't know how and he said "today's a great day to learn" and sarcastically gave me directions on how to open the stroller. My husband and I couldn't believe how he was treating us. Quite possibly the best store in the mall to cool off on a hot summer day. Their AC is always on full blast and the associates are very friendly. Currently, they have an incentive to spend more to be able to save more. As my wife and I try to decorate and furnish our son's nursery, this one stop shop makes life much easier. We purchased a full nursery set in August 2018. I was told multiple times that my furniture would be delivered in November. November came and went, and despite me calling multiple times to get updates and a delivery date, Pottery Barn Kids has been absolutely horrible in giving me any kinds of updates. The customer service people could care less in trying to help me. To start with, every time I call, I am transferred to multiple people and on hold for at least an hour. Not acceptable. Secondly, nobody seems to know where my final piece of furniture is. I have about 4 pieces of furniture in my order, and nobody can tell me where the last piece. is. Finally, I called the furniture warehouse, (which the customer service 800 number DID NOT want to provide me with) to schedule delivery, and we did. They informed me that although not all of mu pieces had arrived, I could still schedule delivery. Keep in mind I had never received a single email notification at all in this whole process- the only one I did have was our order confirmation of the purchase we made in store. Anyway, delivery day comes, and not a single word from the company or warehouse. I call back the furniture delivery department, and they inform me that "delivery was never scheduled", which was funny because they indeed had a record of me calling 1 week ago to arrange that delivery. After spending $2,500+ on furniture, I feel robbed of money, lied to, and completely disrespected. I am less than one month from my due date, and I am absolutely livid that (after almost 4 months of waiting) I still have no nursery furniture because this company can't seem to get its moving parts to work. I am beyond angry and I cannot believe that this is how PBK operates.I will never shop here again, and I will spread the word about the lack of customer service offered by this company. Awful experience. I spent 3K on a bed for my son two months ago. I need the matching desk and chair. I wanted to support local stores and, even though this location is part of a National chain, I was hoping to purchase additional pieces here to support it. This afternoon at 1:30pm, my son and I entered the store. We noticed there was only one other couple there. The sales consultant walked by us TWICE without acknowledging us. I ordered a dream glider for my nursery a few months ago. The staff was so great at helping us pick one out. It was nice to be able to go into the store and see everything in person, from the chair to the fabric samples. The glider was scheduled to be delivered mid-April but it was ready early! They also have cool designs for girls, and the boys also have Star Wars and Comics to choose from. Pottery Barn kids has good customer service in the store but the establishment and associated processes is all in shambles and is getting worse. I would have to think that they are surviving solely due to the good folks at the stores. We placed a recent order consisting of a couple of pieces of bedroom furniture recently, only to find a day before delivery that PB had decided to cancel items in the order without consulting with us. Come delivery day, one of the beds arrives without a foot-board and the delivery guys dutifully installed it all without the foot-board and the sideboards hanging onto the headboard.... leaving me, the customer wondering, if it is even safe to leave this hanging on a couple of screws. The quality of the bed is nowhere near as good as I had hoped for and definitely not worth the premium charged. Calls to customer service center were left unanswered on an occasion and unresolved on another. It must be pretty funny for the folks at PB to have a customer hanging around with a bed with no foot-board !!! The only way I could move the resolution to the situation forward was to visit a store and beg the representatives there to explain to me why part of the order was unilaterally cancelled and part not delivered as promised. The poor representative at the store had to struggle with PB corporate/customer service over the phone to avoid recharging me for shipping of the missing items. The initial option provided was to have the item shipped by UPS and that I should assemble everything, even though I had initially paid for white glove service. After significant back and forth there was a promise made to refund new the shipping charge at a later date!! Even then, the foot-board is expected to arrive only a couple of weeks later and the rest of the order, a month later. What a brilliant way to treat a customer looking at multiple future purchases !!! Asking around a few friends, it seems these kind of experiences is what made them not go to Pottery Barn and instead get better quality products with MUCH better customer service and ethical operations at other local competitors. There is nothing that I see with these folks that I can recommend in a positive light. They definitely have lost a customer in me. read more

I walked in to this location yesterday with a $200 dollar gift off of my registry, I had two of the same product so I wanted to exchange one for another gift that I could use. However, the store employees had no idea what to do they had to call the manager over to help. The manager kept talking about getting them a "sale" and without asking me refunded the whole gift back to the person we bought it from.. so instead of exchanging it I walked out with no gift and lost a $200 present and I have to explain to someone who bought us a gift why it was refunded. Put it all together and printed it out for me. I was able to then call store and place order. Which I did. Then I had to call back a few times to make some rather big changes with my order with Lisset! She spent an hour with me on the phone and on the phone with customer service for my pottery barn credit card. She went up and beyond to help and made sure my order would be delivered before my due date. They have some of the greatest customer service. read more

I was excited to see a big holiday sale on the entire store, so I went in as we were looking for a nice desk for our 8 year old. We decided to buy the Carolina hutch, desk and a chair because everything was 25% off. First of all, the store did not have anything in stock. You must look online with the sales associate and pick from there based on when you want to receive it because many of the items are on back order. I am here to buy something and PBK has nothing in stock. Seriously?? The whole experience is extremely time consuming.... so be prepared. We eventually found the items and then PBKs wanted to charge over $250 to deliver. Well there goes your savings from the "sale" and they say oh- the delivery staff will put it together. (Put together? Am I shopping at IKEA? More on this later.) I said I will not pay that to deliver something you offer in store that is not available for actual purchase for same day pickup. Well then they said something new is available. We can deliver the furniture to the store for a very small fee ($25) but I will have to pick it up and put it together. OK I thought, that is reasonable and I am willing to do that. So we ordered it. The only good thing from this experience is it came in a week earlier then they anticipated. We got the email that our order was ready for pick up. We arrived and pulled up to the loading area to find 3 huge boxes. Took it home and low and behold, it was IKEA. OK- one step up from IKEA. PBK actually put the wood dowels in the holes and painted over those and we didn't have to put the drawers together. THIS "FURNITURE" is not a piece of good quality furniture. You will have to put it together with an Allen wrench. It is pieced together with some wood pieces and MDF. It took my husband and I over an hour to put it all together. Also, the paint quality is defected and I had to pick and choose which side to face forward on some pieces based on how it was painted. POTTERY BARN SHOULD BE ASHAMED to call this furniture and charge what they do for it. We paid almost $1000 for a desk and chair that will not last more than a few years. My other gripe is the hutch stinks of chemicals. We had to open the window from the off gassing and on day 2, it still reeks. We are so displeased from this whole experience. Ordered a bed for my 7 year old daughter on 8/12/2022. The order was cancelled twice and restarted, without any notification to me. Delivery was finally made on 2/5/2023 and it is missing hardware to assemble the bed. The delivery team left the bed in pieces in her room, and called the delivery hub to report the issue. No call back from the delivery hub after 24 hours. I called their number and was told they can only email the warehouse to investigate, but cannot call for a status and we have to keep waiting for an unknown amount of time. In the meantime, my daughter has to sleep on the floor, amongst the parts of the bed. Called PB Teens customer service, asked to be escalated to a supervisor. After 1 hour wait, they hung up on my call. This is the "white glove" service we were obligated to pay for. It is unacceptable and will never shop with them again. read more

I ordered a whole nursery set November 26 for my granddaughter that will be arriving anytime and the furniture won't be here for her birth. Two months and counting is ridiculous. If I knew this I would have never ordered from this company. I based the whole nursery around this furniture and now I have an empty room. This is pathetic service. I love the baby furniture here and so we got some of my daughter's furniture here, her dresser and even her glider. Turns out that the glider isn't so sturdy and just to change the cover, I might as well just buy a new glider all together because that's how pricey the cover is. I love coming here because my daughter loves the stuff here and she would spend her time just playing with the toys and teddy bears here. I have purchased quite a bit of stuff from here. I like that the themes for the nursery isn't so kiddish, it's very modern and really easy for your child to convert from infant to a kid without having to change the theme all together. I like that I can order and ship to store so we can just pick it up instead of waiting for someone to deliver it to our house and we have to be home for it. read more

Came for the first time ever on a week day store was not busy at all only one other customer there shopping for same thing as me a stroller and car seat. Two associates where working. I came in with so many questions about car seats and strollers (first time mom in December) I was hoping I would get a nice recommendation on what to buy since theres tons of products on market that do same thing but that wasnt the case. I left more confused due to the associate not knowing a single thing about their Nuna products they sell! First the associate gave me an incorrect price on a car seat and also mentioned that the stroller I was interested in had different models which I later realized theres only one model. She walked away to check something on her computer and didnt come back again. I walked out slowly hoping she would realize I was leaving but she just ignored. It's hard to compare when it's the only one in San Diego, but I really do love Pottery Barn Kids. I set up a registry online and came into the store to see what I'd actually registered for. They were wonderful and oh so helpful! Their in-store selection is actually quite great and if you see something on line but not in the store, ask! Sometimes they just don't have it on the floor. The ease of adding to or removing from your registry is wonderful too! AND when you close out your registry you don't just get a one time discount on remaining items, you get a discount for 90 days AND you can add anything to your registry in that 90 days and the discount still applies! Maria is literally THE BEST associate I have ever worked with on a retail transaction. We came to PBKids to purchase our Nursery Furniture. Who knew how much effort would be required but Maria helped me on multiple occasions to get everything I needed. It started with a trip with my mom where Maria showed us every piece available with details and options. Showing us everything from cribs to dressers to chairs to strollers! I then came back with my husband to purchase! She took the time to show him everything I loved. We made our purchase and was on our way. Maria then helped us Again with some accessory purchases light fixtures etc. + a phone call to update delivery information (we moved) Lastly, after everything was delivered which was seamless... As a crazy preggozilla, I was super stressed out about the Emerson changing table being back ordered until October 2018. My baby is coming at the beginning of July and I wasn't sure if I could hold off on a changing table for another 4 months after she was born. I ordered a crib I originally saw here. It was supposed to be delivered in a few weeks. For five months they have pushed back the delivery date two weeks at a time. For the past six weeks I've been trying to cancel and get a refund which they refuse to give, saying it is about to ship so they can't cancel. They've literally stolen my money.
