This was our first experience with the disgusting creatures and god willing, our last. Very patient with kids (bring the iPad!) and pain free with no harsh chemical smells. Love the process of heat treating, combing, then an oil finisher. Great tips for the household and they also sell some products to help prevent them again (who knew they don't like peppermint?!). Facility was neat and clean and looked like a regular salon. Expensive but well worth it. They offer a 30-day guarantee if all members of the household are checked.

i have never left a bad review before but this one is totally warranted. DO NOT GO TO ROCKVILLE…read more spend your money with lice happens instead. We just had the worst experience. I drove 3 children home from the beach in order to make our 5 pm appt after my brother told me the falls church location was amazing so i thought i would try the rockville because it was on our way home. I communicated via text with a representative around 12 pm, paid the deposit (25.00 for 4 of us) and I told them via text that 3 of us had confirmed lice and that we did not want to spend 4 hours there so if they could give us 2 people that would be amazing. They said there would be ample time. When we got there I asked the second lady who worked there if she could help us and do some of the treatment for 2 of us and she said sure she had extra time. At the same time 2 other clients were in there for a lice check and when it was confirmed they had lice - i heard the woman who was going to be working on us say that they were full for the night and they were told there was nothing available till tomorrow. When i told the first woman who was assigned to us that the second woman offered to help do some of us she then called her manager who booked the 2 other people (without them paying a new deposit). At the same time the woman started on my nephew. I said i would do 2 kids and leave before the other 2 because it was going to take at least 3 hours for 2 of us. We got there at 5 pm after driving 3 hours to get there and cutting our beach vacation short. Long story short they halted work because i threatened to dispute the charge (for the 2 that weren't going to be seen) and told me i had to wait for the local manager, Amelia to come in. It took her 12 minutes or more to get there and then another 7 minutes to finish a phone call before she came in. All the while no work was happening on my nephew who they had already found lice on at the clinic. At that point i explained to her calmly what happened and she said their policy is not to split families. I told her i was willing to pay extra and this was an unusual circumstance since we already had 3 identified cases and they literally gave away the open appointments after i had asked for them (first at 12 PM and again when i got there at 5 pm). She was very rude and told me i didn't know what i was talking about and thats not their policy. I explained to her the reason i didn't want to be there for 4 hours (everyone was tired and all of the children had to wait for everyone to be done) and I told her she could have offered to do one of us herself. She said she could have but wasn't going to. She then accused. me of yelling at her I was not yelling and then she asked us to leave the clinic. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH THE SUPERVISOR AMELIA. Sydney and the other woman were lovely and very kind and seemed to be overwhelmed by their day. DO NOT GO. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. And i had heard this from a friend but it was even worse then she told me.

TLDR; look at the pro tip at the bottom…read more Are they pricey? A bit. But I was already out about $50 in lice removal products that 1) did not work and 2) my kid screamed through for HOURS, plus 3) they were recommended by the pediatrician AND the school nurse; so gave it a shot. I didn't love that they distracted my preschooler from a no-TV household with videos, but it was effective in keeping her still enough to treat. And after checking the rest of the household they didn't try to sell us on removal services that only one kid needed, which was great. (They did urge me to recommend the $25 head check to close contacts, but that didn't seem unreasonable under the circumstances). They also provide a clearly written fact sheet (with attached request to provide a review [eyeroll]), which dispels some persistent internet myths about the level of house cleaning required after lice are discovered, and they were patient answering follow up questions. A bit of upsell on products but not too bad, and the pressure to provide a review is a bit obnoxious but not worse than some other businesses in the community. A week in, so far so good, the treatment seems to have done its job. I may modify this review if there's a recurring problem right after the 30 day guarantee expires, but for now I feel like they earned the sought-after 5 stars. Pro tip - there's a 30 day guarantee and screenings are M-F 10-12. So, if you have a treatment, before leaving the salon or shortly after schedule a screening for late within the 30 day guarantee window; in the likely event the school calendar includes a holiday or a professional day falling late within the 30 days you can schedule the screening for that M-F day off. You can always cancel if something changes but it keeps you from having to pay twice or having your kid miss school.

This business was very expensive. I made the mistake of not locking in the price (with email or…read moretext confirmation) before they came to my home. I was told it would be $100 per person for a total of $200 for treating long, thick hair for lice/nits. Instead on the spot it was charged $250 per person for a total of $500. I tried to dispute it, but I was told the price I was charged was the correct price. The fee to come to my home ($125) was also a little higher than quoted ($100) on the phone. They knew the distance to my home. On the other hand Adrian and her team were very nice and professional. They did a very good job and were knowledgeable. I do recommend the business, but make sure you lock in the price with email or text confirmation before they come to your home so that it is not changed.
