I visited recently and both times the same lady "helped" me, I asked a few questions and she seemed like I was totally bothering her, she even rolled her eyes at one point. I actually don't think she even knows she's doing it as when I asked was there an issue she seemed unphased like this was just a normal situation. I wish I could get the same guy every time I go in. But I'm really looking at trying to find another post office as this place is just unpleasant most of the time sadly. I did call the location recently and after waiting 45 minutes on hold I gave up trying. Quick update - since posting my review on the webpage for USPS I have had a call back from the manager of the location. She took my feedback seriously and was goingt work with the employee. From the start, she acts like it's an inconvenience that I'm even there and then if it's something she "can't" do, she immediately shuts you down and is extremely rude when giving other options. I don't like to leave bad reviews and I typically give people the benefit of the doubt, but this has happened now twice with her and I'm very disappointed. I try to use the self service kiosk when I can, but some things, I have to go to the front desk. If I have to do that, I will go to another post office, because both times I've been turned away saying there's nothing they can do or that id have a charge of $200 for a package that depop made the label for. This location is open until 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and until 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays. One ongoing issue is delayed package scanning. When packages are dropped off here, they are not always scanned promptly. In some cases, it has taken 3 to 5 days for a package to be scanned into the system, which should not happen. Additionally, mail hold requests are not consistently followed. Even when a formal hold is submitted, carriers do not always adhere to it. The carriers may still continue to deliver mail daily. I have been using this location for a long time, and it has had the same issues for many years. Other locations in the area seem more reliable.

This is a pretty bad post office, which is disappointing because considering its location, size,…read moreand historical significance, it should theoretically serve as the model for all the post offices in the metropolitan area. I've come here many times to try and buy stamps, and I don't think there's been one (1) time where they've had a full sheet of stamps for me to buy. They either have a half-sheet, 2-3 individual stamps, or direct me to use the kiosk, which I don't like doing. Second, a lot of the times when I try to use the drive-up blue collection box, it's stuffed full to the point of being impossible to even put mail into it. Finally, and perhaps most frustratingly, I had to mail something off after work one day, and dropped it in the outside blue box at 4:58 p.m., just in time for them to come out and collect it. Well, because it was an important piece of mail, I waited in my car for about thirty (30) minutes to make sure that they were going to collect it, and nobody ever came out to pick it up. So, as a result, it's going to look like I did not mail it out in time, when in reality, I rushed to the post office to make sure I got it off in time. The only thing that saves this office from a one-star review is that as a big fan of both minimalist and brutalist architecture, I love the aesthetic of the building. At first glance, it looks kind of ugly, but it gradually grows on you, and has become a signature part of the city's skyline. I just wish that I could say the same about the quality of service. While this post office might be the most accessible to most people, I would try to find a different location, even if it's a little less convenient, if you're able.

Had me wondering if people sending off Christmas gifts already! I have to say even though it was full, the line moved pretty fast. As for the customer service, one of the employees who assisted me was rude. I said good morning and all I got was a stare and silence! I am assuming she was in a mood, so all I needed her to do was ship my package:) The place was functional, clean and organized from what I saw. Again, I am not a regular customer there, so I can't speak any further. Long story short, I completed my task, and I was on my way!

I'm not sure why there's a 2-hour difference between the two, when they're physically about 20 feet away from each other. Also, you have to take your packages to the counter to have them mailed, but I've never gone and not had to wait in an extremely long line to have this done. While many of these issues aren't unique to this specific location, they do seem to be noticeably worse here. As such, if you need to do anything other than drop mail in the inside dropbox, I'd recommend taking a few more minutes to go to another post office instead.

I live in the Rosewood area of Columbia and have had days where the mail was delivered at 8 pm or not at all, packages just thrown up on the porch. WOW, and they tell use they are great at what they do, not out of Five Points. I know they don't care, they are a protected class. The one thing congress needs to do is bid out our postal service, fire everyone that works for them and not allow a commercial contractor to hire them for postal service. Want to save money, close the US Post Office and replace it with an efficient company that has real standards.
