While the store is slightly cleaner than it used to be, it is still far from perfect. The inventory is entirely hit-or-miss; items marked as "out of stock" are sometimes on the shelf, while "in-stock" items are completely missing. The worst part of the visit was the cashier, who walked away right as I approached, ignored my greeting when she returned, and then impatiently reached over to push buttons on the pin pad for me to rush the transaction. To fix these issues, management needs to immediately train staff on basic customer etiquette, fix their inventory tracking, and clear the aisle obstructions so customers don't trip.

I went up to her and I asked her if she was "OK?because she didn't say anything to me as I said I was sorry" her response was "I don't have to speak to you". I looked dumbfounded at her while another man heard this whole conversation from her and laughed at her for being so rude. I went up to her and said I needed to get one more thing and she argued with me that it doesn't matter if she's ok or not and that she doesn't have to speak to me at all. I wasn't rude or anything to her. I was really shocked and she knew that from my responses to her. She told me to never come back to the store again. She said there is 3 other DG in this town. I just don't understand why she was so angry. All I did was ask if she was ok? I am so upset. There was absolutely no reason for VICTORIA to act rude and tell a customer they don't have to speak to them at all in the store. I asked if she had another manager on duty and she said I could call the district manager his number is on the door. She acted like she didn't care if I called them. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of compassion and understanding shown by the employees of the Junction City Dollar Tree today, Sunday, March 7, 2021. My 87 year old mother asked me to take her to Dollar Tree so she could buy me a birthday gift. She doesn't drive and doesn't get out of the house often She has Parkinson's and takes medication for breathing....that makes her need to use the restroom quite unexpectedly at times. When we asked to use the bathroom at Dollar Tree...we were told it's NOT open to the public. Now, had there been another store with an available bathroom nearby....or if my mom could walk fast...this wouldn't have been a problem. But since an "accident" was imminent and my mom was very distressed....and there were no other bathrooms within walking distance...I BEGGED the staff to allow her to use their bathroom (which prior to COVID, was open to guests). I explained her age and health status to them. Staff members got the Manager, who firmly refused to allow my Mom to use their bathroom....even though we were wearing Masks and her distress and age were quite evident. Maybe I'm too compassionate because I'm a nurse. Maybe I'm not being objective because it's my mother who was distressed. I hope the staff at the Dollar Tree in Junction City get the opportunity to experience the distress of being sick, old and asking for help...and not receiving help. TODAY was the LAST time I will ever go into the Dollar Tree in Junction City, Kansas.
