Fire. Great class, great instructor (Cait). The class was a 9am and had 4 of us in it on the…read morereformers-it was challenging but enjoyable. You can access this studio via ClassPass, and per Cait, they're actually looking to open up 1-2 more locations (for uptown locale!). I believe you can buy direct class packages as well. Not sure if they're on MINDBODY too. Things to be aware of: 1)it's a small studio, and there might be private therapeutic sessions on the two larger/more complex reformers in the back right. 2) They don't have a lot of extra space for (your) stuff, just small cubbies in the studio-one for each member (don't bring too much stuff, and try and make sure you have a smaller bag--shoes and umbrellas go outside the entrance/door) 3) they do TRX classes as well (looking forward to trying one of those)! 4) Cait hosts a running club in Hoboken (see Athleta's insta or DM her for timing-it's usually on the Bum Pilates insta stories) 5) walk, lyft or lime-parking is REALLY challenging since it's right by the path Definitely worth a try if you've done Pilates (and even if you haven't).

Love the studio! The reformer is one of the best workouts I have done. I've been taking pilates…read morefor a few years and I have to say Cait is one of the best instructors I've had! Olena is another great instructor at the studio. I would have to say Bum Pilates is the best pilates studio in Hoboken.

Club Pilates in Hoboken was a blast to try out. I went on a Thursday for a 6:30 pm class. The…read moreclass was an introductory class and everyone there was new to the class. The instructor Bonnie was incredibly helpful and energetic. The manager of the studio went over session packages for continuing classes and membership at the end of the session. Bonnie spoke in an audible tone, easy for everyone in the class to hear her. We were a decent group of people in terms of quantity; we were 7 people taking the class. The class was fun and informative. It was also a challenge as my first ever Pilates class experience. I enjoyed the class and learning about Pilates and the terms spoken. As a first timer, I didn't know any of the terminology used in Pilates. I was always curious about trying Pilates and I finally decided to give it a try. Pilates introductory class was well conducted. I would recommend club Pilates for anyone who is interested in learning about Pilates and starting a Pilates journey. 10/10 recommendation.

Pretty terrible experience at this Hoboken location. I enjoyed my intro class and was really…read moremotivated to do Pilates cause I was having postpartum back pain. But post the intro class the attention on posture etc mostly went away. There was maybe 1 instructor that was truly interested in helping. It's such big classes that and they move at their own fast pace and do not encourage you to ask questions. Some teachers are actually rude. The worst of All was the customer service. I Have never had such bad customer experience. If you were to miss a class due to a medical emergency forget about it. They don't ever take that into consideration and have zero empathy (even if you volunteer to show docs note). Not only that they charge you extra for missing that class. Their app does not work. Sometimes it sends a class reminder and sometimes it does not. If you book your classes at the beginning of the month you are in for a surprise as you may not get any reminder about the class. It definitely felt like a scam at the end of the day and I did not enjoy Pilates at all.

Very clean studio, warm lighting and smiles greet you as you enter. The organization of their extra…read moremats, blocks and blankets is a sight to see, along with their paperless check-in process. I've taken a handful of classes here and they are all great, although the fire level classes are not for the faint at heart! Each instructor has their own unique way of transitioning flows and making each movement feel new by adding a variation of some sort. I can say after tough training sessions at Hoboken Jiu Jitsu the classes here are a great way to regain some mobility and aid in recovery. Also, keep your eyes peeled for monthly challenges and prizes; Pavana has a great way to keep it's members honest all the while increasing mat time for their individual practice.

Having run a small gym for a long time there are a lot of things about Pavana that I really…read moreappreciate. Clean- it's a small place, yes, but it's always clean, the bathroom, the floors, the mats/blocks/blankets/straps they have for people to use look/smell clean. They have toiletries for people too like hand sanitizer, lotion, feminine products etc. Theres always insence or diffusers, candles so the place doesn't smell like sweat. Easy check in, booking classes via MINDBODY app and iPad at the desk. Classes for different levels. Super beginner to way advanced. Even crazy intense classes where the only yoga element is that it's held at a yoga studio lol Janel's class is NOT for the weak! And I used to train boxing, kickboxing, weightlifting and that class has me full body sweating from start to finish. They also offer meditation classes, restorative like stretching classes plus everything you'll need for class is provided too, all included w your membership. The regular yoga classes have fun themes sometimes like glow in the dark, 90s music, candle lit flow etc which keeps it interesting. Pavana seems to also be very interested in community, some of the teachers have newsletters, they're on social media, there's monthly challenges, different Hoboken events (I actually found out about them via the first street fair!) All the classes are for mix men and women young and old but all the teachers are women. There's a lot of classes through the day/night. The teachers are always available before or after class if you have questions, they're super sweet and very approachable. Always asking for suggestions and bring something different to each class. They're not like super hippy kinda full of shit yogis like a lot of places around hoboken just trying to scam students. It's really nice that it's just full of positive people trying to do better at something. I love the essential oils some of the girls share during savasana too! Yoga constantly reminds me to be patient, to recognize small victories, listen and notice even the slightest changes can have big impacts not only in my practice but all around me. Helps with my terrible balance, busted joints, plus the strength/flexibility training keeps the weight down! Haha
