She made a direct violation of the HIPPA contract that was agreed to, without a valid reason, leading to a severe decline in my mental health and quality of life. At the time I was 15+ and had enough freedom with my medical care to have a HIPPA contract actually be valid. As far as I know she is still practicing and has faced no legal or workplace consequences. Highly do not recommend. The psychiatry here is good, my psychiatrist has managed my medication very well and actually listens to my input on it.

I've been going to this clinic for PTSD and chronic severe insomnia since around 2014. All of my Portland-based experience with similar clinics = good campfire stories for people who need something to scream about, but not much help. Similarly, my experience with medication vacilates between Jessie Spano from Saved by the Bell screaming, "I'm so excited!" and the Goodbye Horses scene from Silence of the Lambs. Again, not much help, decent enough stories. That having been said: I love Deanna Barney Cain. She closely examines everything you're currently taking for every real or imagined ailment, and your individual bushel basket of symptoms, and then boils this all down to a formula for positive mental health. Instead of the late 90s mantra of, "Doesn't work? Prescribe MORE!" Deanna seems to really think about an individualized plan, and the importance of not feeling SOMA'd into submission. And friends, this NP put me to sleep; I don't even respond to sleeping pills. She put me to sleep, without compromising my ability to get up the next day, or sending me into some new sloth-informed state of depression. She's a wizard, to the point where anytime someone reports even passing discomfort, I race to state, "Well you should see my doctor..." No one ever listens to this recommendation, but that's because everyone else is wrong. I also see Kathryn Hoover for EMDR. Here's my recent experience with therapists: making them cry, using my dreams for a Jungian conference (without permission), and displaying ridiculous facial reveals that map whatever I'm saying to the point they want to hear. Yawn. Thanks for nothing (except stories). EMDR work with Kathryn is miserable and challenging, but I'd rather be miserable for an hour a week and see progress every day that follows, than congratulate myself for manipulating a therapist once a week, for the lulz. She's open to my humor without letting me use it as an escape hatch, and keeps the sessions focused so that therapy has a beginning, a middle, and an end. This style probably isn't for everyone, but it's the only good option for me, and I can see the results in the things I do. Thanks to this clinic I can focus more time and energy on fictional stories that pay me, instead of nonfiction horror stories that I pay for.

I have been a client at the clinic since fall of 2016 and have had, and continue to have, a wonderful experience. I've seen a couple of counselors in the past and never have I clicked with a behavioral health provider like I did with Lara. Not only did she match my personal idea of what a counselor should do and be like, she has always been both personable and professional as well as extremely responsive. She's been extremely helpful with scheduling and re-scheduling, helping me find times that work with my inconsistent work schedule and extreme aversion to mornings, and has been open to Skype sessions when I wasn't able to make it to the office. On the actual therapy side, she's helped me immensely with managing anxiety, has introduced me to some therapies that have had a groundbreaking effect, and helped guide me to some profound realizations. I've also been working with Deanna for a few months now, and she's been fantastic as well. I never knew the value of a medication management counselor until I began working with her. She's helped me cross-taper medications to something that works much better for me, and has been patient and open. She's answered all of my questions and has always left the decision up to me, without any pressure, ensuring that I'm sufficiently educated to make an informed decision for my own health. The clinic/office is clean, modern, and in a great, easily accessible location. There is a parking lot adjacent to the building and a coffee shop downstairs. They work with most insurance providers and I've had no hassle on that front. I highly recommend PNWBH to anyone in search of compassionate, personable behavioral care.

I went to see a therapist and see if she was a good fit, and she let me know that it was "offensive" to decide if I wanted to change therapists if I decided one wasn't a good fit. With that said, during COVID, they have tons of technical issues with ZOOM, and give no recourse for how to follow up with missed video call appointments. When I logged in on time to see the practitioner, nobody answered on the other end all 3 times that I tried to have a zoom appointment during COVID. The appointment reminders were set for 3 weeks before and 30 minutes before the appointment, which is pretty useless since I have to plan my life week by week due to my work schedule. About a month ago, I was given a call saying that I would be moving to a higher level of care within Hollywood Mental health, and that my provider would follow up with me for more details. Finally, I waited until TODAY to send an email asking what I needed to do to move forward with my treatment for mental health, and I received what looked like a letter of termination from an employer. Apparently yall send your termination letters in the mail, which, during COVID, the mail system is completely falling apart. At least leave a voicemail if you're gonna fire me.

She "works from home" but does absolutely nothing and has no interaction with employees whatsoeve. they don't even have a reliable hr person. The HR person isn't on site and when you text or email them it takes days for them to answer and then when you fill out your ins information with your address they mess it up and put the centers address as your home address and you cant fix it without having them completely redo the application. The Hr Person is basically non existent in the company. They used to have Greta benefits but have recently started taking them away so workers had to form a union but since no bargaining session has happened yet they are still treating employees very badly.

While other schools treated this as a problem to be quickly solved with many tears and quick drop offs, Teacher Amy had a different approach - work with the child on their time table, meet them where they are at. I spent months sitting and staying in the classroom until my kiddo was comfortable and now she has absolutely no issues and adores school! The space is lovely and bright, the other parents are kind and supportive and form a loving community, and my daughter is more than prepared for kindergarten, already reading and writing! The play-based philosophy and emphasis on building personal and interpersonal skills was just perfect for us and I wish I had more kids to sent to MTP!

When I began looking for help, there was not a whole lot of information availa6ble and there still isn't...I hope my honest review will help others find the help they need and avoid any of the difficulties that I endured . First of all, Doris at the front desk is very rude.. I thought it was just me at first that she looked down on, but I started noticing that she treated all clients this way. Dont expect to have a conversation about anything regarding your appointment or basic pleasantries with her, However, she seemed very pleasant ( flirtatious on one occasion) to the sales men that came in while I was waiting to be seen. My first encounter with Dr Bahl, was pleasant although he was a bit nosey with his questions concerning my finances. I later learned that not everyone was charged the same for the same services rendered. I never saw him again until my last and final visit, where he made it very clear his motivation is money. I was told that Myspace attendance was poor and that I had yet to see a therapist and so I would not be welcomed back. I agree I did have a few cancelled appointments, I lived 45 minutes away and with the traffic I had also been late a few times. However, I had valid reasons, including documentation showing I was in the hospital er and the most recent being a teachers strike that left me without childcare. Dr. Bahl reprimanded me for my missed appointments, stating that he still had to pay his employees and that my abscences hurt his business financially, however, he not only hadn't lost any money due to my missed appointments, he made more money by charging me additional fees for the missed appointments. To be clear, i was not only charged for the appointments missed but I was also charged cancellation fees, which I paid. In regards to me not seeing his therapist, at the beginning I was told the therapist was taking some time off and then I was told there was no therapist employed at the time and there hadn't been until recently and even then he/she was not available on the days I was being scheduled to come in. In my opinion Dr. Bahl is only motivated by money and he lacks any compassion for the people seeking help. During my time there I was seen by Brooke and this is the reason I am giving the place 2 stars and not 3. Brooke is a wonderful, helpful and compassionate doctor and I have nothing but positive itthings to say about my time with her. I am unsure of what the charges are if you have medical insurance but as a cash paying client I was charged $300 a month where as a family member who startegoinqexg there six months prior to me was only being charged $150 for the same services.
