We delivered our dog at 8:00 a.m. and called around 11:45 to see if he was ready for pickup, only to learn that "he was next in line." When we arrived at 1:45 p.m. to pick him up, we learned that he had not yet been groomed and that there was a new groomer and to come back in 30 minutes. We came back after 30 minutes and after seeing our dog, he did not even look like he had been touched by a groomer or bathed, maybe only combed and a bow placed on him. We are completely dissatisfied with these services and have requested a refund of $65.70. I would not recommend Ultimutt to anyone under this management and "new groomer."

Most recently, I brought my dog to this clinic because I knew something was seriously wrong. After examining her, I was told she had pancreatitis and she was treated accordingly. Unfortunately, that diagnosis was incorrect. Concerned that she continued to decline, I sought a second opinion from another veterinarian. They quickly discovered that she actually had a severe uterine infection that had been completely missed. She required emergency surgery immediately. I truly believe that if I had not sought a second opinion, she may not have survived. It was an incredibly frightening and heartbreaking experience. Unfortunately, this wasn't my first concerning experience with this clinic. Some time ago, I brought another one of my dogs in because I suspected she had coccidia. I specifically expressed that concern, but I was told it couldn't be coccidia and was sent home with probiotics instead. When she continued to worsen, I took her to her regular veterinarian the following Monday. Testing confirmed that she did, in fact, have coccidia. By that point, she was very ill and needed the proper treatment that should have been started earlier. These are my personal experiences, and because of them I have lost confidence in this clinic's ability to accurately diagnose serious medical conditions. I understand that veterinary medicine is not an exact science and that mistakes can happen, but having two of my dogs misdiagnosed has made it impossible for me to trust them with my pets' care. My intention is not to attack anyone personally, but to share my experience so other pet owners understand the importance of advocating for their pets and seeking a second opinion if they feel something isn't right. I never post things like this, but I hope to raise awareness for the little things without a voice…read more My sister and I went into Middle Earth Pet Shop, where she purchased a puppy. We were so excited! However, as soon as we got the puppy home she was coughing, sneezing, and shaking. She had some other symptoms I will spare you the details on. I began to look up the pet shop reviews, and seen this was unfortunately a common thing for animals coming from this pet shop.. the animals commonly have giardia and parvo. We took her dog to the vet the next morning. We later got a confirmed diagnosis of giardia. She's had 3 vet visits so far, and still has giardia.. Luckily we were proactive. Luckily this wasn't parvo. However, "luck" shouldn't be a part of buying a dog. These poor animals are being exposed to things that kill them (parvo) as well as things like Giardia that disrupt their life, especially if not treated correctly. NO animal should be brought into an establishment that does not have their well being in mind. Middle earth pet shop is just trying to make fast money, while letting dogs die in the process.. this is so sad and the store shouldn't be open.
