my fiancé purchased a dress from this shop earlier in the year. Unfortunately this happened!!!!…read more upon choosing a dress I had doubt as certain areas didn't fit well and was advised that it would be perfect after the alterations had been done! With trust I used their seamstress which was recommended by the ladies in the shop. The alterations appointments were done in store on site, I had to pay per fitting appointment which took 3 times as the dress was never correct and 'had forgotton' to do bits that needed correcting. Today I picked up my dress (7days before my wedding now) to try it on and for it to not fit at all. The front area was gaping open to the point you could actually see areas you wouldn't want people to see. I was told the seamstress could not come back out and I would have to wait for her next available appointment (baring in mind my wedding is 7 days away) I reluctantly said no this is not acceptable as my dress should of been finished weeks ago. I was then offered for one of the sales girls to attempt to correct the seamstress mistakes to which I went away reluctantly and returned 2 hours later. Low and behold the dress was that tight I now couldn't breathe properly (a problem that wasn't there before) i asked to speak to a manager as at this point I was in distress and in floods of tears to be met by a man who was rude, showed no empathy and basically told me to go take it up with the seamstress. As I did not have time to be waiting to take things further with her I refused and asked for an exchange or a refund for the price I paid for the dress which would even then of resulted in me taking a loss for the alterations. I was refused anything at all and was told to leave the premises before he rang the police (my 10 year old daughter was present and became upset and worried so we left) I would strongly advise anyone who is thinking of using this company not too. Appalling customer service and I'm left without a dress that fits correctly from this store. After speaking to the owner I was advised to try and sell my now damaged dress on to try get some money back at a different store. Disgraceful.

So, obviously wedding dress shopping in a pandemic is strange- and it's a high emotion (and often…read morehigh pressure) environment anyway. This place is definitely a case of it is what it is- if you want a budget dress, there could be worse places to go, and there is a heck of a lot of choice- yes, wedding dresses have a high mark up because of their complex construction, and the man hours spent with brides, but the pricing system here is definitely weird, and the marked RRPs arent legit, the sale prices are good enough to avoid that comparison anyway. The store is a bright, large, warehouse building, with long aisles of dresses, arranged in sizes, you are taken to your size, and you are allowed to take you pick of what you would like to try on. Appointments are not exclusive, which actually was okay in this set up (although there was no covid safe cleaning before shunting us on to a sofa), and photos are banned- I don't think this is down to finding a dress cheaper elsewhere, because I do think that you would be hard pressed to- but a pressure selling thing- which is to be expected in a lot of the industry, but it's always good to know it's coming! Covid means putting yourself in the dresses, but the did let me help with my friend, which allowed us some miming so the assistant couldnt see, as we weren't really able to talk about the dresses openly. One lady did tell my friend that a low V neck could just be sewn together to raise it, which is utter rubbish, and I'm glad I had a facemask on to cover my annoyed shock. This place definitely serves a purpose, but you hopefully realise it isn't the boutique experience. If you want something cheap, (be warned that there are a serious variation in qualities at a like price point) this may well be the place for you, just be ready to stand politely firm against a hard sell, and avoid the loos.

By far the best store we visited for value, service and one huge selection. I would recommend this…read moreis the first store to visit.

Posted on behalf of my wife and her friend:…read more Grudgingly returned to the shop after an upsetting, extremely disappointing experience last year with my friend who was looking for a mother of the bride outfit. This was purchased but after less than 24 hours was returned as she decided it wasn't quite the right colour for her. As noted in previous reviews with important dress decisions for special occasions people can change their minds, however the shops policy of no refunds and only a credit note left my friend devastated and visibly upset in the shop. The refund policy is displayed on a wall tucked away behind the cash point in very small writing. To read it you would need to ask the assistants to step aside from their till in order to read the policy. However, we were told on the day of return, it is also noted on the receipt by which time you have made your purchase and it is too late! We pointed out at no time leading up to the purchase did anyone mention the returns policy. Many other high street stores and independent stores do point this out at the point of sale. We think that with such an important, emotional and expensive purchase this should be made clear verbally! We could not believe this was an unusual situation judging by the thickness of the credit notebook that was produced. The manager was called but was cold and uncaring. Sticking by the policy despite my friend's extreme distress. As pointed out by my friend, for her it was a once in a lifetime purchase and she will never need to buy a dress like this again, so a credit note was of no use to her! At that point I offered to buy the credit note off her. So, returning somewhat hesitantly on Friday this year with another friend for moral support, in order to use the credit note, it was extremely disappointing to see the refund policy still tucked away not clearly visible. To compound matters we were served grudgingly by an arrogant, unfriendly assistant. We were dressed for the weather after our train journey from Edinburgh and possibly we were being judged by this particular assistant (as previous reviews have commented on). Whilst I tried on two dresses the assistant did not engage with my friend at all making my friend feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. We then went to the other shop, the assistants here were very friendly but we returned to the MOB shop to complete the purchase. At this point we had four assistants squashed into the small point of sale area trying to pack the items up which was quite intimidating for us. When I produced the credit note which covered the cost exactly of both items (which was quite considerable), nothing was said about the comment my friend added to the credit note last year! So main learning points for Molly Brown: * Your returns policy at the point of sale should be seen clearly by the customers - so move it and point it out verbally pre-sale! * Some assistants clearly need some training * Do not judge your customers buying potential by their appearance. You will lose sales. Supposedly you are family run but your customer service is very poor, there are times when rules can be relaxed. The experience my friend had was dreadful and it is too late for you to redeem yourselves, but I do hope this does not happen to any other potential customer.

When the delivery date came and went without so much as a phone call, we called them and were told there was a delay in the delivery. We are almost positive they just forgot to order them. Even after this we had to chase and chase them at every stage. As other reviews have stated they are incredibly disorganised. No computers or any system to track orders beyond a big binder full of paper. Every time you speak to them you have to endure a 10 minute wait whilst they find your order. I suspect their back room is equally disorganised as it takes them 10 minutes to find the dresses too. On one occasion they couldn't find our order form and basically told us to go away and call back later, because for some reason it would be easier to find over the phone! One of our dresses was altered and actually fit worse afterwards. They had the audacity to suggest the bridesmaid had changed size in a week and charged us £20 to re alter it. Easily the worst shop and customer service I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I have no idea why most reviews for this store are not recommended and thus hidden. The only review which seems suspect to me is the 4 star one.
