Now I'm really not a wedding kind of person and I had the most low-key event possible when I got married (i.e. I went to the registry office and that was that!) so I was a bit underwhelmed when my stressed out friend asked me to help choose her dress at Kiss The Bride. I expected rather snotty salespeople trying to flog us the expensive options but I couldn't have been more wrong
The ladies who run Kiss The Bride (three generations of the same family) are incredibly kind and lovely people. They are so down-to-earth that it's impossible not to relax in their shop. They even 'counselled' my friend until she forgot all her troubles and supplied us with welcome cups of tea.
They did have some strikingly pretty dresses - even though I don't go for that kind of thing - and the prices were very good indeed. They really seemed to care about every aspect of my friend's wedding and I hope they can manage to keep up that level of customer service without wearing themselves out because I expect they are going to be a very popular shop!
Finally, they offer an extra service: pipers for your wedding, which is well worth booking. One of the ladies is an ace bagpipe player and will turn up and play for you with her equally talented friend. read more
