The tzatziki sauce on the meat was also tasty. There was so much food I couldn't finish it all. All the employees I encountered were very friendly and spoke great English. They did not come in a pita, the usual way we get them in the States. We are open to cultural differences, so we thought, why not as a platter. We all 3 ordered them and some water. Sorry, she said, we don't have water! Say what what?? The meal arrived. We were all looking for the strips of seasoned meat grilled vertically and cut very thin. What we had was a plate with lovely fries, a salad drenched in what we took to calling "meal sauce" and some tiny brown nuggets that were reminiscent of dry dog food, with some more meal sauce over them. Next to that was a pickled hot pepper with a different variety of meal sauce. On occasion, if you chewed and breathed at the same time, there was a slight taste that hinted of gyros.
