The photographer work with my kids and was very very patient you know cause at the time I had a five week old and you know she was a little whiny but once we got her to sleep photographer took excellent photo of my kids I was so ecstatic. I just had the absolute worst experience at Portrait Innovations (Patton creek) Hoover Al location. They have the most unprofessional staff and Management I have ever encountered. The Photographer Lesa is The most unprofessional person I've ever encountered. The Manager Deshawn was even worse. They schedule sessions 15 minutes apart hence having customers wait over 3 hours before their session. As if that isn't bad enough they allow customers to be shot prior to their appt time disregarding the customers who's appt was scheduled ahead of those customers causing several customers to leave without receiving service. So after waiting nearly 3 hours for my child's session it was finally our time. By this time my baby had fallen asleep. So i asked the customer whose appt was right after mine if we could switch spots since my baby was asleep, they said sure. I let the photograoher know that the next customer and i would like to switch spots as my 6mth old had fallen asleep after waiting 3+ hours for her session. The photogroaher Lesa proceeded to speak nasty to me saying they couldnt allow this as other customers would get upset. I asked why the other customers would be upset as both myself and the next customer had appts and were merely switching appt times. Lesa proceeded to elevate her voice and speak rudely to myself and my friend. After she finished her rant I asked to speak with the Manager. As I started speaking with the unprofessional Manager Deshawn, Lesa the associate runs over and began to over talk me. To my surprise, the Manager allowed the associate to speak for him. She began to repeat what she told me previously then stormed off saying she was going to lunch. I told the Manager that this was the most unprofessional studio I had ever encountered. I asked for the District Manager's name and number as it was obvious I would get nothing resolved with these people. The Manager tells me that he isn't allowed to give out the District Manager's contact info. I asked him to repeat himself as I didn't believe what I was being told. He repeated himself. I asked for Corporates number..... the Manager says the number so fast as if I'm a walking stenographer. I asked him to repeat the number please he then gives me the number sarcastically..... slower than any normal person would. I then told him that I understood why the associates were unprofessional because it appears they are following his lead. The associate then comes back out of nowhere pushes the Manager aside and steps in front of him saying that she's not unprofessional and that i could cancel my appt if i liked. Well clearly I did just that. If you have an appointment with or plan on visiting Portrait Innovations Patton Creek Location please save your time and money and patronize a studio or photographer who is professional and would appreciate your patronage. read more

I took my teen age grandchildren to Portrait Innovations about a yr ago and every thing was above average. Everyone was friendly and worked very hard to please me. The kids both enjoyed the session and after balking about going said yes they would go again. Now after reading these reviews, I think i will find another studio to go to this year. My family and I received the worst possible customer service today at Portrait Innovations. Upon arrival, we were asked our last name and told to have a seat. This brief encounter was the only interaction any of the employees offered to us. After waiting an hour after our scheduled time, we decided to leave, an action that should have sparked a response or at very least an apology. Nothing. Not only will we never be returning, but I urge anyone who is considering using their services to choose otherwise. read more

Business model is simple at this location: overbook and apologize. After promising no wait (we called because we had four small children) the waiting area was filled with no available seats. The hostess told us corporate makes them book this way. If this was a one time event then such a situation might be an aberration. Unfortunately this is the third (and last time since we will not be coming back) it has happened. If these reviews are any indication of future behavior this studio won't change. Run don't walk somewhere else! I will say I have had a good experience their once before. I made an appt a 3 years ago for headshots for my daughter. I went in explained exactly what I wanted. The photographer was amazing. The shots turned out so well that I had a herd time choosing and spent more than I intended. My daughter is older now and I needed new shots. So I took her back there. This experience was horrible. I was very angry when I left. The photographer was obviously new and so worried about upsetting her manager that she would listen to what I wanted. She tried a few times but made so many shots to please her manager, who obviously checks behind her and berates her if she doesn't do exactly as expected, that I had a very limited very poor selection at the end. The shots I needed are specific and I brought examples. And instead of using the opportunities she had to get what I needed she used backgrounds that I could not choose from. She used props that made the shot worthless. She would take once decent shot and rush through the next two just to get to the next pose or background. Those shots were useless. We ended up choosing the least bad rather than having so many good ones to choose from like last time. Only one of the strange shots the photographer took actually turned out cool but it had a prop I could not use for the headshots I was there for. I asked to buy 1 of those. Just one photograph to keep for myself and I couldn't buy it because she didn't know how to sell just one photo. I realize if I got a 5x7 I would have had to buy two because of how they print but she could not do that either. She could not sell just a single print. I ended up with the $20 package of a bad shot, a bad headache and a bad mood, because I felt I had to buy something. The photographer was really nice but her inexperience and her fear of management made this overall experience so bad we won't be back. read more

First time there. We were not expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised in a positive way. We bought the studio package which included two photography sessions in two next-door studios with two different photographers. They printed the selected photos within 60 minutes. We were very pleased with the poses and quality of the photos. They must have some kind of filter that automatically smooths our the skin. No additional photo shopping required. The overall package was expensive and more than we expected to spend at over $400, but we were very pleased with the final result. read more

Absolutely Horrible Customer service at this location. This was my first time here because the Trussville one closed down. Only one picture was good and the color was off. I had to come back two times to " fix" it and nothing waa offered for my inconvenience. I wouldn't go back to this location to save my life. read more

I have been to portrait Innovations prior and every time I come there is a problem. The wait is terrible or the customer service is terrible. The lady that took the pictures took forever to shoot plus to go over the pictures. All she talked about is how greedy the company is, and how she looking for another job. Just ranting about the job and the people over her. I called customer service about one of my canvases being sent back and she was so rude, and she was like we can send you a 15% off discount for your next visit, but I never received it. I wish people would work there jobs like they love it. These people are just very unprofessional. I want to go in and at least have one pleasant visit. This place is a rip off. Yeah the pictures are nice, but the prices are through the roof. They wanted $139 for a disc with the photo's on it. For what you would pay for that or one of their other packages you could pay for a private session with a better photographer. They try to guilt trip you into buying the most expensive things too. We went in under a special promotion where we paid a low price and got one picture. They acted like we'd taken advantage of them when we didn't want to upgrade to a $90 package, like we'd stolen their time or something. Don't go here and expect good service. read more

Poor customer service. Inexperienced staff. This place is a daycare gone wild. You will be exhausted by the time you leave. The photos came out very nice. I would place them a step above the average budget department store but well below a private portrait studio session. Some of the staff people have bad attitudes and seem lazy. Some staff people are fairly friendly. The packages are way overpriced, but all and all with the right price and with a change in staffing we might consider giving them a second try. Just be warned. It is not upscale ( Don't be fooled by the decent location and pretty storefront) , it's very exhausting because you take so many photos it is like a workout, especially if you are lifting and repositioning a baby, and be prepared for a possible attempted rip-off. I visited portrait innovations for an extremely important occasion. The occasion was my child's 6month old birth milestone. My family arrived at the reserved appointment time expecting to have our child's pictures taken, which never happened. I'm fact, I looked at the clock and discovered a whole hour has passed by. I wasn't sure of what was going on or were they ever going to take my child's picture. So we said let's just ask one of the workers when or how long will it take for our child's pictures to be taken. There was 2 workers up front when we checked in and I'm assuming someone in the back taking pictures. One of the two workers that was up front begin working with a group of clients toward the back of the room. So, it would have been extremely rude to disrupt their encounter to ask when were they going to take my child's pictures. The other worker was nowhere to be found to even ask any questions. So, we left extremely disappointed after being at Portrait Innovations over an hour. My husband and I wondered how could you make an appointment and the studio is not 10 to 15 minutes behind, but over an hour behind. We are not confrontational individuals but we expected to be serviced in a timely manner. We expected our child to have portraits on the 6month of life mark, which however never happened. I would advise anyone to stay away from here if you must capture a moment on a specific occasion because it may never happen. There is no guarantee of service with Portrait Innovations as your important moments of life are not important to them. A picture is something that is to be remembered and treasured by the people that are in the photograph. I have never disliked taking photos as much as I did on 12/28/2016 at the Portrait Innovations location in Hoover Al. The attendant/photographer initially expressed that the printer was not working, therefore we could not get the photos the same day, I asked would we receive a discount for the inconvenience and he replied "it's not my fault" (strike 1). Our family is quite large and having two small children under the age of 3 can be a challenge, but hopefully in Portrait Innovations training class, a photographer would be taught how to engage and get that "perfect shot". That of course was not the case (Strike 2) A photographer should make suggestions or take it upon him or herself to come up with an amazing background to highlight that "special moment in a photo" that was not the case either, I can understand a big family shot with one color background, (Strike 3 )but every shot even where two family members were in the picture? I am upset about the lack of variety in these photos. The service was horrible and took a very long time to complete. I am not a happy customer. So, I of course called customer service about the situation of the printer not working, and all they agreed to offer was 10.00 dollars off! It's not the money it's the principle of the matter. I am not employed by Portrait Innovations but I do know that not having the tools to use at a specific time can be annoying the great thing or so I thought is that I would get my pictures the same day! So I was forced to take a CD and now have to pay more money to print them out and I won't be able to have the special effects or be able to mix them the way I want them to be. And of course the total came to over 200 plus dollars. I will not be returning to Portrait Innovations. And I am still not an happy customer due to the lack of attention and service for my families special memories. read more
