We had a scheduled appointment on Sunday, November 4th. We arrived a few minutes before they opened, and Miranda was ready to go! She took all of shots she wanted to and added in a few that were spur of the moment....like one of my daughter and her baby having fun! This was a 3 generation photo shoot....as well as one celebrating my husband's Air Force Retirement after 35+ years of service. My husband was in his dress blues and my son in law, active duty Army was in his dress uniform! We've used Portrait Innovations before in Charlotte.....but the Gastonia location was simply AMAZING!! She apologized and said that Portrait Innovations could not refund me the $15 for the shipping that I was forced to pay for, but they would mail me a check for $7.50 and give me a $10 gift card for my revisit (although I will not be revisiting) read more

The guy who did my pictures was very inconsiderate when it came to picking out which pictures to buy. I kept telling him I only wanted 3 and didn't have a bunch of money to spend and he would NOT listen to me, his tunnel vision in trying to sell me $500 worth of pictures really turned me off. Plus my child was crying and ready to leave and the guy was taking his good old time, just not very baby friendly in my opinion. I will never go here to get pictures done again. read more

June 9th me and my family went to your establishment for pictures. I was told that I would have my booklets and my canvas within two weeks and someone was going to Call. Two weeks went by I continue to call the location where I purchase my pictures no answer. So after several calls I decided to drive there, ,that's when I found out that location was closed. So when I finally spoke with someone they advised me that I had to go to a different location which was 45 minutes away from my house because your company was unable to mail it to me. When I told Bruce at Ballentine location that I was going to file a complaint with BBB and on social media his response was. "you have to do what you have to do." He could have at least apologize. The service provided was extremely unprofessional. Not only did your company cause me a big inconvenience , I was provided poor customer service. My daughter suggest JCPenney's I refuse because I always used your company when I lived in VA. Based off this experience y'all lost me as a customer. I paid over $200 I should at least get some of my money back. read more

My family has been a faithful customer of Portrait Innovations since 2008. We have gone to multiple locations in both TX and NC. This year was our first time in the Gastonia location. It will be our last, as well. Although the staff was friendly enough, everything felt a bit rushed. I know it's a busy time of year, but we have always gone at this time of year, and it has never been a problem. There was no real rapport between our photographer, Jennifer, and the kids. Usually, the photographers make it fun by being a bit silly with the kids to get the smiles. That was not the case. She spent a lot of time verbally directing everyone where to place all of their body parts, in order to get the perfect poses. My kids did not appreciate that. They expected it to be more fun, like it usually is. Honestly, I would rather buy prints of imperfect poses with genuine smiles. This felt too businesslike and rushed. My 11 year old tried to point out all of the poses that she is usually asked to do, but wasn't. She was sad that she wouldn't have those portraits this year. We ended up with a far less variety of poses than we normally get. That was all disappointing, but what was worse was the quality of the portraits. I ended up spending over $300 for about 5 decent portraits. Many were very overexposed. The lighting was terrible! She said she couldn't do anything about the lighting. I have never gotten so many horribly lit portraits for that much money. I don't mind spending the money on quality portraits, but that isn't what we got. I hate to part ways with Portrait Innovations after all of these years, but I don't ever want that kind of experience again, especially at that price. read more
