Very good! Really enjoyed all the routes I did. Way more use of arêtes than I'm used to, which was…read morea fun change. So many different wall orientations too- made for a great variety as well. The drop in coaching classes seem like they'd be super helpful as well, not something I've seen before- definitely wish they had this at gyms I was able to go to regularly. Color grading for all the routes via their holds was exceedingly helpful, made it really easy to find problems to do.

For those of you not familiar with dinosaurs or hands it basically means that my hands are feeling very floppy. Holding a pint of Guinness last night took considerable effort and grip revision. To the uneducated eye some may think that I am overtly expressive in a camp theatrical way with my flailing hands. But enough about my hands, what about the wall? €8 to go each time. €5 one time only membership. Plenty of walls of all different intensity levels for you to practise on (bouldering not rock climbing). They have a free drop in class every Monday for beginners. It's not in the sexiest of locations but the inside is very well done, you can get coffee and parents etc can chill out in the seating area and look on. If you are OK with heights and falling from heights give it a go. If you're not you are more than welcome to watch my hands go dinosaur like as I fall from a height. I think that would be very rewarding for those of you that don't like me.

Inside, there is all the rides and stalls that you might expect, closely packed together and manned by broody young fellas who set teen girls hearts racing. This year, they have introduced a recession busting deal for those of you over 1.10 metres - a wristband that gives you access to unlimited rides after 6pm If you prefer a more leisurely experience, just have a go on the Big Wheel outside the venue, where you get a good view of all the 1 million Euro homes and their attendant swimming pools. Expect to see people returning on buses bearing giant teddy bears.

It's a big fairground with carousels and a big Ferris Wheel, so big in fact that you can see it from miles away. The rides are great fun though, especially the rollercoaster. On the downside though, there is usually huge queues and it's quite pricey- well it is in D4! Like Aoife said, the view from the Ferris Wheel is great and nearly worth coming to Funderland on its own. There is children's rides as well. All in all, it's a great afternoon out if you don't mind huge crowds and long queues.

We taxied up from city center to Phoenix Park and it wasn't too far. There are local bars and such not too far from the park if you need a snack or brew before hitting the park. We were told that this park sometimes hosts concerts and some major events, even that Obama had visited and spoke during one of his trips. The park is lush, spacious and with lots of nature to see. My favorite thing about this park is the free roaming deer that you can see. They are extremely friendly and gentle. It's so unique to get an experience like this to walk with deer and to have them be so comfortable that you can approach them and that there were so many. A beautiful place to spend an hour or two in nature and not far from Dublin City, worth checking out.

The park is one of the largest enclosed recreational spaces in any European capital city. 1700 acres, it's home to the Dublin Zoo, the Flower Gardens and more. Lots of walking paths. Lots of monuments including the Wellington. Lots of meadows and woodlands and landscaped spots. The park is peaceful even with the buses running along its main avenue. There are a number of benches and lots of space for laying out a blanket for a picnic. Well worth the time to explore. [Review 1986 of 2024 - 167 in Republic of Ireland - 23008 overall]
